If you are installing this from a custom rom or other than Sony devices ( CyanogenMod, AOSP & etc ) , you will have to sign the apk using ZipSigner from Play Store in order to install the apk. If it doesn't work, sign it & move it to system/app with a new folder namely"Music" with correct permissions RW-R-R.

Did you use ZipSigner? I tried it unsuccessfully and someone told me, it needs rename the file for Example Music or Music in your language. It could help perhaps

I have a moded version of sony music app. I installed that version on my phone with KitKat rom, as a normal apk and it worked very well but after i updated my rom to 5.0.2, it installs normaly but when I launch it says "unfortunately music has stopped working"
I tested that version on a Samsung5.0.2 rom and it worked good.
So what can i do?

I had a similar problem, my Music would force close whenever I updated to a newest version. All I had to do is clear app data after the update, it works perfectly ever since.
I pushed Sony Music 9.3.6.A.0.0 to /system/app/ on my rooted Redmi 3S Prime. Everything works fine, except that the app shows lots of empty playlists in the Recently Added area. Can anyone please help?
Good contribution, Music.apk tested on Samsung device running LineageOS and it works correctly.

Can someone port Samsung music player. I am pretty sure it might work on other devices just lile xperia music. Its interface is great. If Someone can do then it will pretty nice. Thanks

Just one question: is there any way to remove the default playlists in the app? Like "Recently added" and "Favorites"? I want my own playlists to show at the top... not "Favorites".

Hi Ben, it's a great app but there are 2 problems with the universal version.
1) I can't use Google Drive. I can login but after that it says: "Could not connect to Google Drive. Check your Internet connection."
I have internet connection, I even tried with 4G connection but I still get the same error. I also tried with different phones and again the same error. See screenshot in attachment.
2) I can't add a music player widget on my homescreen. I can only add Album, Artist and Playlist widgets
I took a screenshot of this issue as well, see attachment. Please can you fix these problems because I like this music player a lot.
