I have tried various settings but it does not work reliably. What are the recommended settings?
Galaxy S4 Active SGH-I537 Android 5.0, please test following settings:
- Record Mode: 4
- Tune Samsung1: Yes
- Tune Samsung2: Yes
- Tune Samsung3: Test Group1, Group2, Group3, Group4, Group5, Group6 one by one
- Tune Audio Route: No

If it doesn't work I'm afraid no recorder in the market works. In this case please root your phone, use these settings to record calls:
- Record Mode: 4 or 1
- Tune Samsung1: No
- Tune Samsung2: No
- Tune Samsung3: No
- Tune Audio Route: No
- Change Audio Controls: Yes
- Change Audio Driver: No
- Start Input Stream: Yes

Thanks. Before I got this message, I decided to uninstall and reinstall BoldBeast. That seemed to work BUT then I noticed that there were problems.

1) the "automatic dimming" of the screen no longer works. The screen is always on the dimmest setting now unless I take it off automatic and manually set it.

2) The ringer and vibrations both also seem to be on very low settings. I am missing calls and messages constantly.

I tried to reinstall but I did not deal with the suggested testing because the dimming and notification issues have me concerned.

Suggestions on how to restore / fix dimming and notification issues caused by BoldBeast?

Please disable the "Tune Samsung3" option, power off then power on, does it work now?

Thanks! I tried this but it did not work. Finally, I uninstalled Boldbeast. I then deleted the two directories it created (it may create more but I only found 2). I booted up to delete the partition cache. I forced a reset of all application preferences. Still no fix. Then I started going through other trouble shooting steps. What appeared to fix it was going into the power saving features and then changing each of those settings - on-off or reverse - one by one. Finally, auto dimming appears to be working somewhat close to normal.

Thanks for your information, and sorry for taking much of your time.
So please root the phone to fix the recording problem. Don't enable the "Tune Samsung3" option.

I have a Moto G 2gen (XT1068), running stock KK with root. In the suggested settings (no root), the incoming calls only recorded my side (I can only hear my voice). I would like to know, which settings work well (better with root mode? Which?). Thank you in advance and for the support.

works.

In first tests with same settings the external partner was not loud enough. Now it works. Whatever...
Thanks!

=== Boldbeast Call Recorder - No root needed for many Galaxy, HTC, Xperia phones, record calls perfectly in both sides. ===

Many Android phones can't record calls well, they usually have following recording problems:
    - Can't record calls.
    - Can record calls, but in recordings the sound of your side is very weak.
    - Can record calls, but in recordings the sound of the other side is very weak.
    - Can record calls, but during recording you can't hear the caller's voice.
    - Can record calls, but during recording the caller can't hear your voice.
    - Can record calls, but when you play back the recordings they sound like fast forwarding or fast rewinding.
    - Some other issues maybe.

What is the reason? Even popular phones like Samsung Galaxy, HTC One, Sony Xperia, Motorola Moto G/Moto E/Moto X, LG-G5/G4/G3/G2, Nexus 6P/6/5X/5/4 etc have these problems also. We checked ROMs of hundred phones, some of them have bugs inside that cause these problems, but most commonly these problems are made by the manufacturer - the manufacturer purposely disabled the call recording feature. For example,
    - Samsung Galaxy S4 can't record calls in USA, but works very well in other countries.
    - Samsung Note 3 works very well with Android 4.3, but can't record calls after upgrade to Android 4.4.
    - LGE LG-G2 can't record calls with Android 4.3, but works very well after upgrade to Android 4.4.
    - HTC One can't record calls in many countries, but works very well in China.

How to fix these recording problems? We found although the manufacturer disabled the call recording feature,
    - some phones are still able to record calls perfectly if the recorder app uses special recording parameters to record calls, no root needed.
    - some phones must root to fix these problems.

We developed Boldbeast Call Recorder for Android, it has a large "Fixing Database" inside. The app works well for most phones in the market, we want to make it supporting more add more phones by adding parameters into the database.

You are welcome to install the app and use it. If it can't fix recording problems of your phone, this indicates your phone needs different parameters, please click the "Ask New Parameters" item in the app to send us hardware log files, we'll look into them and update the Fixing Database accordingly to support your phone.

No matter get root access or not, this app doesn't change any built-in files in the system, it only dynamically changes audio related settings (these settings will be restored to their original states by Android automatically after reboot), so the app is 100% safe.

Boldbeast Call Recorder V9.0, it's free, no advertisement.
