Thanks a million man!

I was stuck with some custom roms after trying them out and couldn't get the stock rom due to the restrictions of our damn government for Filefactory's website here in India. I thought I may have to stick with the custom rom forever without tasting the Nougat which is about to come. It was until last night when I found this post here and I flashed this without a single problem. And now, I am back with the good old stock and waiting for the Nougat OTA with patience and hope.

I simply can't thank you enough for this buddy. :) You saved me from the wrath of custom roms and their messed up bugs and so called customizations. There is nothing as simple and elegant as stock for Android. Thanks again! Appreciate it. :good:

I tried these steps but it gives error saying

    (bootloader) Security version downgrade

    (bootloader) Image boot failed validation

    (bootloader) Preflash validation failed
    FAILED (remote failure)
    finished. total time: 0.727s

    PLease help me

What are you trying to do, downgrade your system? If so, you need to unlock your bootloader before flashing this Marshmallow ROM: https://xdaforums.com/showpost.php?p=67031801&postcount=2

Also, if you're downgrading from Nougat, in addition do not flash the GPT or bootloader partitions. No point with the OEM locking commands too; the script should look like this for downgrading:

    Code:
    fastboot flash logo logo.bin
    fastboot flash boot boot.img
    fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
    fastboot flash dsp adspso.bin
    fastboot flash oem oem.img
    fastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk.0
    fastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk.1
    fastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk.2
    fastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk.3
    fastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk.4
    fastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk.5
    fastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk.6
    fastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk.7
    fastboot flash modem NON-HLOS.bin
    fastboot erase modemst1
    fastboot erase modemst2
    fastboot flash fsg fsg.mbn
    fastboot erase cache
    fastboot erase userdata
fastboot erase customize (optional: will erase any customizations if ordered through motomaker)
fastboot erase clogo (optional: will erase the custom boot logo if ordered through motomaker)
    fastboot reboot

If you're trying to re-lock your bootloader and you were on Nougat, you cannot use this ROM to re-lock your device, since the Nougat bootloader is newer than the one in this ROM anyway. For re-locking the bootloader, try flashing the latest Nougat stock ROM (March 2017 build) https://xdaforums.com/moto-g4-plus/how-to/stock-rom-npjs25-93-14-4-march-1-t3608138

    Hi echo92/all,

    I have a Moto G4 (XT1621 - CE0168)
    RETMX
    Android version: 7
    Security patch: February 1, 2018
    Baseband: M8952_70030.25.03.62.02R - ATHENE_LATAM_DSDS_CUST
    Kernel: 3.10.84-ga9160e1 - hudsoncm@ilclbld36#1 Sat Feb 3 12:16:23 CST 2018
    Version: NPJS25.93-14.15

I have battery issues and somehow got to this thread, I have replaced the battery and the issue persist, seems to me like a SW issue. Is there something I can try to fix this issue?. I got this by this thread which is my actual problem.

    https://xdaforums.com/moto-g4-plus/help/moto-g4-plus-battery-drain-fast-charge-t3612314

1)What battery issues are you experiencing? Is it battery discharging faster than expected or random reboots?

2)Have you checked your device apps with a battery monitoring app like Better Battery Stats (either from XDA https://xdaforums.com/showthread.php?t=1179809 or from the Google Play Store) or GSAM Battery Monitor? If you install one of these, you could check if any apps are misbehaving and keeping your device from sleeping, which could lead to battery drainage. Pay particular attention to social media apps or other apps which may require a constant data connection.

3)If you find no particular culprits in the apps, you may wish to try a factory reset via stock recovery to clean out all 3rd party apps. Bear in mind this will wipe your data, so you may wish to back up your data/important files and keep safe (e.g. your computer). Also, be warned that if you have a SD card adopted as internal storage, you may lose access to that SD card if you factory reset (so back up the SD card if needed). This factory reset should mean you only have apps that came standard with the stock firmware.

4)If 2) and 3) don't help, you can re-flash the stock ROM to try to fix any firmware issues. Here's a post pointing to the stock NPJS25.93-14-15 firmware : https://xdaforums.com/showpost.php?p=76337066&postcount=769 Flash as per the instructions here: https://xdaforums.com/moto-g4-plus/how-to/stock-rom-npjs25-93-14-4-march-1-t3608138 You do not have to lock/re-lock your bootloader. You could also try flashing the NPJS25.93-14-18 firmware (April 2018) which is the direct update to your existing firmware, and appears to have better battery life in my experience compared to the Feb 2018 patch firmware: https://xdaforums.com/showpost.php?p=76416801&postcount=785 These firmwares are for athene, which includes Moto G4 models as well as G4 Plus.

5)If a firmware flash doesn't resolve the battery issues, it may point to a hardware issue, which a service centre would be best positioned to resolve.
