That is shown bei Kindle fire firest Aide.

Good evening: We were originally talking about using SRT and now I see you are using KFFE.
I can see that the KFFE tool did not work for you either. It says cannot load

You only need to restore the Tablet to a working version and the SRT tool is much easier and quicker. I used the SRT tool images on my own tablet and, here are the results.
I did not actually use the tool script. I used only the images in the SRT folder.
I used the command line and entered each command as you see it. The times are all there for you to see.
me@me-9100 ~/Downloads/KFHD7_SRTv1.3.5 $ fastboot -i 0x1949 erase cache
erasing 'cache'...
OKAY [ 56.135s]
finished. total time: 56.135s

me@me-9100 ~/Downloads/KFHD7_SRTv1.3.5 $ fastboot -i 0x1949 erase userdata
erasing 'userdata'...
OKAY [ 72.398s]
finished. total time: 72.398s

me@me-9100 ~/Downloads/KFHD7_SRTv1.3.5 $ fastboot -i 0x1949 flash recovery images/recovery.img
target reported max download size of 1006632960 bytes
sending 'recovery' (8192 KB)...
OKAY [ 2.816s]
writing 'recovery'...
OKAY [ 0.679s]
finished. total time: 3.495s

me@me-9100 ~/Downloads/KFHD7_SRTv1.3.5 $ fastboot -i 0x1949 flash boot images/boot.img
target reported max download size of 1006632960 bytes
sending 'boot' (8192 KB)...
OKAY [ 2.816s]
writing 'boot'...
OKAY [ 0.676s]
finished. total time: 3.492s

me@me-9100 ~/Downloads/KFHD7_SRTv1.3.5 $ fastboot -i 0x1949 flash system images/system.img
target reported max download size of 1006632960 bytes
sending 'system' (907264 KB)...
OKAY [311.427s]
writing 'system'...
OKAY [ 73.065s]
finished. total time: 384.492s

me@me-9100 ~/Downloads/KFHD7_SRTv1.3.5 $ fastboot -i 0x1949 reboot
rebooting...
finished. total time: 0.002s
me@me-9100 ~/Downloads/KFHD7_SRTv1.3.5 $

I strongly suggest you follow my earlier instructions and open up a command prompt window in your SRT folder and, issue the commands manually.
Enter:
fastboot -i 0x1949 flash recovery
See what happens. If this command is successful, then enter the other two.
There are only three flash commands so, is very easy.
Frankly the tools are a lot more complicated and time consuming.
As you have found, they all lie to you sometimes.
In your case, the response in KFFE was "cannot load", yet said no error??
I believe the tool is saying it had no error to give you...

BTW: The KFFA tool has to download the images each time it is used.
Most people report, the download site does not work.
My guess is that in your case, no images were downloaded thus, KFFA told you, it could not load. As you can see the tools very often do not give you any insight as to what they are doing or not doing.

Regards Jerry

Well mate. I used kffaide now, because the Rest didnt work. Well in any cmd Windows in the SRT folder i can usw the Commando getvar product. It shows the right thing then (tate-pvt-08 total time 0.016s).

Erase cache is OK too. I cant erase the userdata. After hours nothing.

Addiotionally i cant usw the Commando to flash recovery. It says then error: neither-p product specified nor Android_product_out set.

Just testet erase recovery it worked. But still no user for erase userdata... Nothing happens...

So you See im rly confused about that.

Good evening: I hope you meant erase cache and not erase recovery?
In general, it is not a good idea to erase partition information such as recovery and especially bootloader of course.

I think your problem is that your command prompt window is not open in the SRT folder.

I opened a command prompt window in my SRT folder such as: (Example)

C:\folderA\folderB\SRT\
I issued the command
fastboot -i 0x1949 flash recovery images/recovery.img
The images are in the images folder (example)
C:\folderA\folderB\SRT\images

I moved the command prompt window away from the SRT folder and issued the same command and received this error:
fastboot -i 0x1949 flash boot images/boot.img
target reported max download size of 1006632960 bytes
error: cannot load 'images/boot.img': No such file or directory

If this is the error you are getting trying to flash the images, this means you simply do not have your command prompt window in the correct folder and the command can't find the images.
At least Windows told you you had a problem which the KFFA and SRT script did not tell you.

The command prompt path must be in the SRT folder in order to find the images which are in the images folder. I am pretty sure once you can open a command prompt in the SRT folder, you will be fine.....
The problem I guess is that you are not familiar with how the command line works and pathing.
The erase cache command is a straight command and will work almost anywhere.
The flash command has to find the files and the command must contain the path to the files...

fastboot -i 0x1949 flash recovery images/recovery.img

C:\SRT\images (example)
The command window has to be open in the SRT folder where ever it is on your PC.
The images are located in the images folder under the SRT folder......

Good day: I am glad you now have a working Kindle. I was certain the issue was simply that your tools were not working properly.

You can flash any version of Kindle you wish as long as someone has created the three images (boot, recovery and system).
I am pretty sure you still have the 7.3.2 bootloader from your original installation of Kinology.

The next step is to use Fireflash to install 2nd boorloader and TWRP recovery, then your Android ROM OS.

1: Gather all your required files and put them on your tablet before you start anything.
kfhd7_boot_freedom-boot-7-4-6.img
kfhd7-twrp-2.7.0.0-recovery.img
kfhd7-twrp-2.7.0.0-recovery.zip (Just in case you need it in an emergency)
cm-11-20141112-Snapshot-m12-tate-zip
gapps-kk-20140606-signed.zip

2: Install fireflash1.apk from GooglePlay or side load it

3: Launch fireflash and check all of the checkboxes (bootloader if needed, stack, stop auto recovery, clear cache, data) (up to 5 checks) (DO NOT CHECK WIPE SYSTEM)***(DO NOT CHECK WIPE SYSTEM)*******
4: Select freedom boot in the boot window
5: Select twrp recovery in the recovery window
6: Select CM zip in the add zips window (install / recovery script zip area)
7: Select gapps to add additional zips in the add zips window (install / recovery script zip area)
8: Click flash, install script (installs TWRP and 2nd bootloader)
9: Click Reboot into recovery (Automatically installs your rom and gapps for you)
10: After the install, the tablet should reboot and after a considerable bit of time should boot up into Android.

(This can all be done manually via command line but, in this case, the fireflash script app works quite well)

Nope, Kindle says 7.3.0 o_O

Good day: Yes, I agree you are running 7.3.0
However, the bootloader you are using is probably 7.2.3 which may have been installed by Kinology or your original 2nd bootloader install.
The 2nd boot and TWRP can only be done if the bootloader is downgraded to 7.2.3 which is why I am pretty sure you already have the older bootloader.
The bootloader is independent of your OS version.

For example, you can still be using bootloader 7.2.3 and be running Kindle OS 7.5.1

In fact, if you were running 7.5.1 and installed the TWRP recovery with 2nd bootloader you would end up using the 7.2.3 bootloader.

When you use Fireflash, to do the ROM change over, the bootloader will be downgraded automatically to 7.2.3 if it is higher than that.

Okay, thank you.

Is Kinology still ok for work? I liked it :D Or is CM now rly better?

Good afternoon: Both Kinology and CM are solid as far as I am concerned.
The main difference is whether you like the Kindle GUI and functions better than the Standard Android GUI.
Kinology is essentially a Kindle OS on steroids allowing you to have Google Play installed, etc.
You still have to have an Amazon account to use the tablet and you have some restrictions regarding what Amazon allows you to install in use but, it is certainly a solid OS.
The Kinology OS is frozen at 7.4.8 (Android 4.0 I think) but, that is not detrimental in any sense.
The CM Android OS is presently KitKat 4.4.4 and eventually will have Lolly Pop 5.0.
CM has not had issues for few years now and is now an officially supported at the KiKat level with downloadable updates.
Personally, I like a more open OS with full File Manager access and the tradition ability to drag and drop app Icons to the desktop and wallpapers but, honestly you can't go wrong with either OS.

Good afternoon: I do see on the Kinology posts that there seem to be lots of Gapps crashes now using Kinology.
Remember that most of the Kinology installs are on Kindle 4.0 or 4.1 ICS and perhaps the gapps stuff is now in need of a Kindle OS update.
The problem is that the latest update for Kinology is still based on Kindle OS 7.4.8.

Just about any root kit will work and I like root_with_restore_by_bin4r_v31.
Might be a good link?

You just need this to start

http://xdaforums.com/showthread.php?p=34571114

This assumes you have the right device
Sent from my DROID RAZR M using XDA Free mobile app

Good evening: If you have the larger 8.9' Kindle fire, I agree, the above post referral is the correct restore tool.

keep in mind that to get into fastboot, you need to have all the ADB /fastboot tools working on your PC.
You need to type fastboot -i 0x1949 getvar product at the dos prompt.
The prompt will tell you "waiting for device"
Plug the tablet (turned off) into the PC using the USB cable.
The tablet will turn on and go into fastboot (Yellow fastboot flsshing logo).

Once in fastboot, you can then use the referenced SRT tool to fully restore your tablet to woking mode.

If you just try to use the tool itself, your tablet may not and probably will not go into fastboot.
This is why you should put the tablet into fastboot mode manually using the [ fastboot -i 0x1949 getvar product ]command

If you have any questions, please ask to save a lot of trouble.....

Hi, Thanks to both of you for your help. What do you mean "all the ADB /fastboot tools"? I downloaded KFHD_SRTv2.1- 8.1.4 from that link. Do I need more tools?

Attached is my kindle. Is this the right Gen kindle for this tool?

Good evening: There is no way to differentiate between the 7' and 8.9 inch tablet because they physically look the same.
You do have a 2012 tablet for which the SRT tools were designed for.

If you tablet is about the size of an 8-1/2 inch sheet of paper or (10" X 7"), you have an 8.9 inch tablet and the 8.1.4 tool is a good one.
If your tablet is smaller (about 6" X 8") then you have the 7" tablet and you need the 7.2.3 version of SRT.

None of the tool software will work unless, you can issue fastboot commands from your PC.
The SRT tool folder contains the fastboot executable so, in theory, if you move your command prompt to be in the same folder as fastboot.exe, you can use the tool.
Thus, you do not need more tools but, rather, you need to be able to use the SRT tool commands.

I indicated, you need to get the tablet into fastboot by issuing the command I listed at the command prompt where you have the fastboot.exe file located (In the SRT folder-wherever it is):

(with you tablet off and not connected to the PC:)
fastboot -i 0x1949 getvar product
The response will be "waiting for device"
If you see, "waiting for device", you are all set and can proceed.
If not, you need to get your command prompt window into the SRT folder where fastboot.exe is located.
Plug the tablet into the PC USB port.
Your tablet will boot up into fastboot.

You are then ready to use the SRT tool to restore to a working Kindle OS version.

Thus, the first step is to let us know if you can get your tablet into fastboot and whether you have a 7" or 8.9" tablet.
The above method only works on the 8.9. The 7" needs a special fastboot cable.

Hi Guys,

I have been reading through all the various threads about restoring my Kindle Fire 2nd gen device to the stock OS (restoring from TWRP and CM11) but despite my best efforts i am unable to get past the Red Triangle screen. I have tried manually flashing the img's needed and also using First Aide kit. I have downloaded the files from 2 different source so i confident that the files are ok. The first aide utility is work as i get successful message from the tool but i still cannot get the device to boot.

Any suggestions on what to try next? Oh and i do have a factory cable and can get into Fastboot and my PC recognises the device fine.

Good morning: Two comments:
1: The easiest method to revert back to the KIndle OS is to simply transfer any Kindle update for your tablet from the Amazon website to your tablet sdcard and change the suffix from . bin to .zip. You then boot into TWRP recovery and click "swipe to wipe system" and then click "install" and choose the update.zip file and, "Swipe to install". The TWRP recovery OS will completely replace all you have with the Amazon Kindle update and you are taken to reboot system. Do not say yes to replacing the missing root SU and you are back to the full Kindle OS. This method works every time and I have used this method over and over with no failures.
2: In your case, method 1 is not an option since you now have a red screen. You need to download one of the SRT packages appropriate for your tablet (You did not say if you have the 2nd gen Non-HD, the 7" HD or the 8.9 HD tablet). If you boot into fastboot with a fastboot cable (7" HD) or using the fastboot commands (8.9 HD), you can then flash the boot, recovery, and system images and you will be back in business.

Here is one of the SRT links (for the 7" HD Tate Kindle Fire)

we love to give you the feature that are important to YOU not us.

Kindle Fire First Aide Step 1: Using Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome or Internet Explorer Download Kindle Fire First Aide 4.1.100-Beta:
    KFFirstAide.zip

Note: Be sure to extract the package to C:\KFFirstAide

Update Java To The Latest Version here: Java SE Development Kit 7u25

Kindle Fire First Aide Step 2: Using either 7-Zip or Microsoft Zip, unzip the KFFirstAide100.zip to your C:\ Drive as C:\KFFirstAide

Kindle Fire First Aide Step 3: With your mouse, open the C:\KFFirstAide contents by double mouse clicking the C:\KFFirstAide folder

Kindle Fire First Aide Step 4: Find the RunMe.bat file. Right Hand Mouse click on RunMe.bat, select 'Send to', select Desktop (Create Shortcut). Now press the Left Hand Mouse button to create the Shortcut named RunMe.bat. Temporary disable the Android SDK.

Kindle Fire First Aide Step 5: Find the RunMe Shortcut on your desktop, select it by left mouse click over the icon, then while on the icon choose Right Hand mouse click, select Properties.

Kindle Fire First Aide Step 6: This will display the RunMe properties. Select the General Tab, change the top name to KF First Aide. Then click on the Shortcut tab, click on Advanced. Check 'Run as Administrator', click OK, then click Apply, then click OK. All windows should be closed.

Kindle Fire First Aide Step 7: Double Mouse Click the new Icon named KF First Aide. You may be presented with a security window, just click Yes.

Kindle Fire First Aide Step 8: Please click on the Windows Key plus Pause/Break, this will display the Windows System Properties. Next Click on the Advanced Tab and find "Environment Variables". Please click on Environment Variables and find the Path Statement. Carefully add at the end of the Path Statement:

    Code:
    ;C:\KFFirstAide

Note: Do Not forget the (;) semi-colon before the C:\KFFirstAide

Kindle Fire First Aide Step 9: That is it! The software is ready. Next we get the Kindle ready to Flash.

Kindle Fire First Aide Step 10: Next, go to the Kindle, pull down the status menu, select More+ then select Security, make sure Enable ADB is ON. Last, depress the <- and select Device. Make sure 'Allow Installation of Applications' is On.

Kindle Fire First Aide Step 11: Insert the Original USB Cable to the Kindle, please ensure you have a solid connection, this is VERY critical.

Kindle Fire First Aide Step 12: Next, make sure the Kindle Fire is Turned Off. Take the other end of the USB Cable and carefully inset it into a free USB Slot on your Computer - be careful to not disconnect the other end.

Kindle Fire First Aide Step 13 : The Kindle Fire should automatically turn on and boot regular Bootmode. If the Kindle does not turn on depress the power button until it turns on. Next select Option 15 in the Software. The Kindle will reboot and will now see a screen that says: Fastboot Kindle Fire.

Note: If Option 15 does not trigger the Kindle to boot into Fastboot, then your Bootloader is damaged. Please send SkOrPn a PM to order a Factory USB Cable.

Kindle Fire First Aide Step 14: Place the Kindle on a safe surface so it does not disconnect when running the software.

Kindle Fire First Aide Step 15: Launch the KF First Aide software by double mouse clicking on the KF First Aide icon.

Kindle Fire First Aide Step 16: You will be presented with a Kindle Fire First Aide Menu, carefully select the operations you would like to perform on the Kindle.

Kindle Fire First Aide Step 17: If the option states "Fastboot" you need to leave the Kindle as noted above, this is Fastboot Mode. As the last operation be sure to Wipe the Cache and User Data which is Backup Option 3 in the Menu.

Kindle Fire First Aide Step 18: Next, we will disable "Fastboot Mode" and enable ADB on the Kindle Fire. Select Option 10 in the Software Menu, the Kindle will Reboot into Regular Mode.

Kindle Fire First Aide Step 19: You may now perform the 'ADB Mode' options in the Menu.

Kindle Fire First Aide Note 1: Remember, after you perform the full Recovery, you are working with a Fresh Copy of the Software. ADB is disabled by default so be sure to Enable ADB under Security and Allow Installation of Programs under the Device Tab.

Kindle Fire First Aide Note 2: After the complete restore, please be sure to clear the Davlik Cache and the User Data by selecting Backup Option #3. You may also wipe the User Data and Cache by opening a Administrative Command Prompt within the KFFirstAide Folder and enter:

    Code:
    fastboot -i 0x1949 erase cache
    fastboot -i 0x1949 erase userdata
    fastboot -i 0x1949 reboot

Kindle Fire First Aide Note 3: The original versions of the Kindle Fire HD 8.9" with a software Versions 8.2.3 or 8.2.4 may find there Kindle Boot-loader loops to a Red Fastboot Screen. If your Kindle is stuck in Fastboot, please follow these steps to recover the Boot-loader: How To Recover Kindle Fire HD 8.9" Bootloader*

Note: Please be aware of two main options in the Menu - one is Fastboot Mode where you have several Menu Operations that use Fastboot to execute properly and two is ADB Mode where you have several Menu Operations that use ADB to execute properly.

Backup Option #1 Note: When selecting Backup Option 1 the images will be backed up to the SD Card in a folder named KindleBackup. Please copy this folder to your desktop until we are able to upload it to our secure servers. There will be a restore option in the future that will automatically pull YOUR images for restoration. There is a known Bug in Windows where you will not see the images in the Kindle Internal Drive which can be found in Computer. To overcome this issue, please download and install WiFi File Transfer then open your Web Browser to transfer these Backup files from your Kindle to the PC.

Backup Option #2 Note: When selecting Backup Option 2 the images are first copied to the Kindle, then they are transfered to your Computer inside a folder named Backup which can be found inside the C:\KFFirstAide folder.

*Note: After several conference calls with the Amazon Development Team we found Amazon applied a patch to the Bootloader in an effort to lock down the Bootloader, this patch rarely causes the Bootloader to stick or Bootloop, please use the above link to release the Bootloader. We have removed this patch from the boot-prod.img eliminating future issues with recovered HD 8.9" users.

How To Manually Recover The Kindle Fire 8.9" Stuck In Fastboot?

    To All-

If you would like to try a last ditch effort in getting the Kindle Fire 8.9" back online, please do the following:

Step 1: Please run the Kindle Fire First Aide, attempt the HD 8.9" Recovery, if it fails move on to Step 2

Step 2: Exit the Kindle Fire First Aide utility, double mouse click the KFFirstAide Folder.

Step 3: Download Boot Image Number 1 from here (save the image to the KFFirstAide Folder): http://dl.dropbox.com/u/54456659/kfhd-8.2.3/Images/boot-prod.img

Step 4: Download Recovery Image Number 2 from here (save the image to the KFFirstAide Folder): http://dl.dropbox.com/u/54456659/kfhd-8.2.3/Images/recovery-prod.img

Step 5: Open up an Administrative Command Prompt from within the KFFirstAide Folder by opening up the KFFirstAide Folder then press your Right Hand Mouse Key while you are over the KFFirstAide Folder contents, then select Open a command prompt here. You should see something like

    Code:
    C:\Users\Your Name\KFFirstAide>
Step 6: Next you would make sure the Kindle Fire is plugged into USB and Turned off, type the following and press enter after the command while the Kindle is off and plugged into USB:

    Code:
    fastboot reboot -i 0x1949
Step 6: You will see a Windows Command Prompt that will look like:

    Code:
    C:\Users\Your Name\KFFirstAide>fastboot reboot -i 0x1949
    <waiting for device>
Step 7: Next Power on the Kindle While you see the above, one the Kindle Boots the Kindle will suddenly reboot back into Fastboot although we have seen this step free the Bootloader, so if the Kindle begins to Boot normally unplug it from USB, if the Kindle boot back to Fastboot red screen proceed to step 8.

Step 8: While the Kindle is in Fastboot Mode type the following at the Windows Command Prompt:
    Code:
    fastboot flash recovery recovery-prod.img -i 0x1949
    Code:
    fastboot erase cache -i 0x1949
    fastboot erase userdata -i 0x1949
    fastboot reboot -i 0x1949
Step 9: Leave the Kindle Plugged into USB. Wait for the device to Boot back to Fastboot, if the device boot back to a Fastboot screen with odd vertical line running through it, stop here, the Kindle has begun the recovery phase. If the Kindle begins it recovery, it will react odd and reboot several times, this is normal. Wait 10 to 15 minutes. If the Kindle boot back to Red Fastboot Screen proceed to Step 10.

Step 10: Leave the Kindle Plugged into USB. Next type the following command:

    Code:
    fastboot flash boot boot-prod.img -i 0x1949
Step 11: Next let's do a little house cleaning. The following commands wipe the old Dalvik Cache and User Data which is, in simple, tied to the old Android Operating System. Having said this, when the new OS attempts to retrieve data from these partitions, a content stream of errors occur in the background, causing the Kindle to react VERY slow and at times completely unresponsive. To eliminate this problem we will wipe these partitions before booting the new OS. Please enter the following commands, press enter after each one:

    Code:
    fastboot erase cache -i 0x1949
    fastboot erase userdata -i 0x1949
    fastboot reboot -i 0x1949
Step 12: Unplug from USB. The Kindle HD 8.9" will reboot with an odd Fastboot screen with vertical lines running through it, this is normal, do not interrupt the recovery. Let the Kindle begin it's recovery phase. This may take up to 10 to 15 minutes and the Kindle will reboot several times.

Step 13: Once the Kindle Stabilizes, please be sure to apply the Amazon OTA Patch before connecting the Kindle to your WiFi, otherwise you will loose Root and Google Play Store which are both installed on the images.

Step 14: After you applied the patches please wait for the Kindle to rebuild itself, this can take up to a couple of hours. If after 4 hours the Kindle is still reacting slow, perform a Kindle Fire HD 8.9" Factory Reset. This option can be found under the More+ > Device > Restore to Factory Defaults. We find this last step is rarely used.
