Gmail isnt installed in my Apps...nowwhere to delete. do i need to do a factory reset
Well if gmail isnt installed then how could it sync? Then you need to install it for it to sync. You just answered your own question.

No I have nothing against shadow, I get great battery life with samurai. I have tried everything once but I always go back to samurai. Plus I always support the home team...IAP

you would think...but when i goto Account settings...I see my gmail account however it says synce is off...I attempt to sync and if flashes for a split second and does nothing..when i reinstalled 2.0 i setup gmail...no issues....then wiped caceh and dalvik...installed 2.1....home button works and my gmail account is still setup and can access the market but in accounts its say sync off
Go to Google play, look at your apps list and see what is says for gmail? Is it listed under installed? Or does it say free next to it? If it's not installed install it. If it says it's installed? Do you use titanium backup? Use that to Uninstall gmail the go back to Google play and redownload and install. You might want to also delete the sync account and re set it up again.

I just did a clean install of v2.1 and so far the only issue I have is the home button does nothing I feel the it vibrate but it does not do anything at all.
Lol you can not do a clean install, you can not wipe data. It's been confirmed for some reason this new version causes that. You have flash 2.1 over 2.0 without wiping data. You only clear dalvik and cache. Just flash 2.0 load everything set it all up how you want it, make sure all is fine. Then flash 2.1 over it. Just wipe cache and dalvik when you do this.

OK...well i was able to install Gmail. the Gmail App works for email...the accounts setting is still saying sync off....i do have my contacts so thats all im concerned with...thanks for you help....

But I like the boot animation on 2.0 better than on 2.1 LOL!!!

Unless you wipe dalvik every time, you only get to see that part once. All the work that goes into these boot ani., you would think someone would have made a script that alows us to see the whole thing every time.

You can use whichever boot animation you want with any rom you want. You can extract it from 2.0 using root explorer or any file maintenance app and save it somewhere on your sd card to copy over into any rom. The bootanimation is in the system > media> folder and it should be named sanim.

you can just pull it out of the version2 zip file... Or..easier....I think kg may have provided it as a sep file for download in this thread...somewhere. When I did it, I had to replace both bootanination.zip and sanim.zip in the system/media folder...
Be sure to mount system first if on mtd... I used zarchiver and ES File Explorer...there are other apps you can use...

You need to either go back and read the OP, or this whole thread. Those are Samsung or Google Apps which are not essential, Kenny placed an additional zip with all of those, you can flash that and then delete what you do not want. Someone else also posted the calendar app separate somewhere in this thread.

I just renamed both the bootanimation and sanim.zip to zip.old and copied the files from 2.0 and it works I have the android zapping the apple again.

I simply downloaded the business free calendar from the google play store it works just like the original calendar.

I was always able to see the whole bootani. The apple would get zapped, the screen would darken then the lockscreen would pop up.

If coming from something other than an FC09 ROM I highly recommend you wipe data, cache and dalvik and not restore data, also you should be on CWM 5.0.2.7 or higher.

He pulled the FC19 system and pushed me to release it..LOL. I will post the odexed stock versions he sent me in another thread this weekend.
It is highly recommended to flash this from V2.0 because something wierd happens on 20% of the flashes, the home key doesn't work without this fix.
The first thing noticeable is the Sprint Connectons Optimizer is removed by Samsung.
I themed this with the lessbluebox version, changed the bootani, changed the wallpaper, put in all the mods we all love, added the silent camera without the low battery shutoff and Gtalk with video.
All the stock apps (bloat) have been pulled and put into a flashable.
This has everything else that 2.0 has with the same thanks to all those Devs.
You MUST wipe cache and Dalvik or bad things happen (drove me crazy).
The BML issues are fixed, Boot to recovery works and bootanimation can be seen.

MTD version will of course convert you18For anyone with battery issues please change i/o scheduler to anything besides cfq. Cfq does sleep but not as well as the other governors do on some phones. You also might want to wipe your battery stats with cwm (I know it has been stated this is a bad thing to do, but it has cured battery issues for me) and also pinpoint what is eating your battery up... I have been running the bml version on my epic for 6 hours and it has only dropped 9% with minimal use.
