All:

I am new to this stuff. I just rooted my phone and installed busybox. I wanted to get rid of the bloat so I downloaded The ashaman 2.2 file in the first post. I am not sure how to install it and run it. There are just a bunch of directories and I cannot find an installer. I must be doing something wrong. Help!

Thanks

Question for Dev. 1st off thanks for this. =) Helps me get rid of that useless samsung cloud stuff. However I noticed 2 things it didnt give an option to remove.

1: The samsung account
2: Samsung Push Service.

Today I learned how many times that push service woke my device in 6 hours.. was over 2000 causing massive drains. So used titanium backup to remove em, but was wondering if they could be added to this installer to debloat too? =)

Oh another thing, There isnt a way to remove "Cloud" from settings is there? Since after we removed all those samsung cloud stuff, this remains.

Could be cool if you could get rid of the verizon backup assistant thing from settings too. Any ideas about those? Thanks. =)

Can you tell me device you are using and version of rom you use? I assume the sch-i535 since you mentioned vzw?

I've been thinking about a cool update to this. If i get around to it this week I'll take a look at those other options. do you know the name of the samsung account app?
samsung push service i should have under second group 14th item just listed as "Samsung Service".

Actually, just see my sig. ;)
http://xdaforums.com/showthread.php?t=2113452 is the rom. I am on T999 (T-Mobiles S3) using ATT service. The rom was based off verizons, that has been since ported for multi carrier use. The only thing that could never be removed it seems is the "Backup assistant" thing. However now that I removed all the samsung account, push service and cloud stuff. The "Cloud" also stays stuck in settings now too.
But yea, just got done using battery stats log and found out (Hopefully) what was causing horrible battery life..
http://xdaforums.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=1777648&d=1362366516 is my log file from that, which was all related to the push service constantly waking my device. So after 5 hours, I was already at 50% of my battery.

But yea, those were 2 things not in your installer to remove, the Samsung account (and I dont know if the Samsung Setup should be removed?) and the samsung push service.

Also I dont know if you had this one either.

I came across it too when avast told me it was installed with this rom. So I removed that too.

Ah, i was on mobile and don't see sigs on there. I'll look into this but as far as removing it from settings I'd think you need a framework mod to accomplish that. Not something a de-bloater would be able to do.

Yea, so I heard, Ive read something about a settings.apk that can help remove stuff from the framework. Not sure how that works.

Also today I managed to confirm that this solved my battery issue. Went from 5 hours use which made my battery 50% (mostly from idle too!) to 6 1/2 hours and I am sitting at 89%. So yea, problem solved after removing the samsung bloats + the 2 items I listed from samsung that werent removed. Also that item sprint uses. =)

in the de-bloater i have "samsung service". Did you check that? I believe that to be the samsung account. I've found the apk for the samsung push service and in next version if you select to de-bloat samsung service it will remove the push service as well now.

Ya I am sure I had it selected. I did from custom debloat, on reboot, I went back in and titanium backup showed it around still, also the sync accounts etc had it still logged in with my email. I "think" the apk is signin.apk since when I just checked now, I didnt see it anymore in my system/app. I shouldve logged it down what it was called before I deleted it.

OP thanks for your fine work. Hope to use this when I get my Tmobile S3 but I am not so familiar with using custom recoverys. Is yor utility only to be used with CWM or can it also be used with TWRP? Thanks.

Worked great. Thanks!

EDIT: Hmm. That's weird. Pre de-bloat my sig read "Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using xda premium". No biggie, but strange.

2nd EDIT: Nm. It was the wallet apk that made the change.

Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium

Used your app and debloated damn near evey option.... I am now running into an issue with streaming videos... I am using the devils rejects v6 and I know 100% streaming video worked before I tried this out. Awesome ui and easy to use app tho.

Pin it to Win it.

Good job on that last update, Just updated to the new version of the rom I am on and tried the update. You did a great job in getting rid of all the issues. =)

Did have one side thing tho.. for the samsung all share stuff. Can you make a sub section to split the all share stuff? This way we could keep the DLNA server ability? I mean while we may not use the other stuff, being able to host files as a media server would be helpful.

:D Thanks so much for this app! You've saved my battery life by helping me cut the bloat that's wasting so much time trying to sync with Samsung's cloud

This is a fancy little Aroma Installer you can flash in CWM and choose all the bloatware you want to remove from your system.
Officially supports every Galaxy SIII variant!

There are a few main selections.
Recommended de-bloat will remove everything that is recommended to remove.
Full de-bloat will remove everything that anyone would want to remove without breaking the system.
Individual sections for carrier, ATT, Sprint, Tmobile, Rogers, VZW
Customize de-bloat lets you pick inter-matching between all the sections.

Most of you should choose "Custom". This will show you the lists with Recommended all being selected already and the deeper de-bloat apps being unselected. You can modify as you see fit.
Please take note, you can "flash" this in CWM and it will do nothing until you make your selections and then tell it to. So you can safely flash it, go to custom and peruse around at all the apps it can remove. If you want to do nothing simply bring up the menu and quit the installer.

    HOW TO USE:
*Note, this will wipe cache and dalvik-cache for you so you don't have to

    1. Boot into recovery, from power off [hold vol.up + Home + power] until phone vibrates then release
    2. Select Custom to modify selections of what is removed
    3. click "de-bloat" button
    4. thats it

    Aroma oddities
*the color is off, not showing red it seems, everything is still perfectly viewable but just an FYI so you don't think it's your screen.
*scrolling and/or touch can be finnicky at times. No matter where you are volume keys can be used to scroll around, the back and menu keys function as expected and home or power buttons can be used to select.

    Download Ashaman v3.02

    New Feature
This will now ask if you would like to install the universal search enabled GoogleQuickSearchBox. Basically if you have flashed a new stock rom the universal search feature of the GoogleQuickSearch Box has been removed. If you select yes for this option, the original GoogleQuickSearchBox.apk will be installed that still retains the universal search feature.

Feedback: Please let me know if you would like more apps added to the recommended or full list. I've only added things so far that are really safe to delete. Worked off the intl thread spreadsheet of what is safe etc. but obviously made some of my own decisions for the att stuff.

I'll try to throw up an update this week.
    5
Grab 3.02 for the latest removals.

try to provide the exact apk name if there is more and ideally "freeze" it first to ensure it has no negative side effects.
This tool now removes 70 different apks across the GS3 variants.
    4
there is now an ATT 4.3 Stock Rom...

    http://xdaforums.com/showthread.php?t=2498233

Maybe this app needs an update now.

I guess it can't hurt. If I have time this week I'll go through a stock dump of system and update this.
    4
I have s3. Didn't move to it yet from my aokp gs2 (that runs so well there is no rush) but probably will this week. at least until the next nexus.
