I have tried v4. But I think the quality of the videos are really lousy as compared to GetYTV. The MP4 quality videos are so bad. Is it really MP4 quality??

You are correct, and I did a little "test" to compare the two. I downloaded one of my videos on YT with both v4 and GetYTV. The video qualities are worlds apart which reflects in their file sizes too. Check out my file attachment below.

Please let me know if the latest version (0.5.0.0) addresses the YouTube video quality issue for you.

Your app is very good.
Do you think you can add xvideos.com in the software? xvideos is a very streaming website for adult :)

So far so good sir! mVu's "Medium" = GetYTV's "MP4"

Out of curiosity, is it not possible to download "MP4" for the other sites as well? I only ask because that format is supported by the TP2's album viewer+WMP which would eliminate the need for any other player.

Cool! There is a great improvement of the video quality. However, some comments from me which I hope you don't mind.

1. The FPS of the mp4 quality seems kinda low. Only 15fps as seen from my attachment. Not sure if it is due to youtube MP4 limitation or the codec of the program? 15fps is kinda cranky to the eyes. I see GetvTY videos are having ~25fps.

2. I suggest perhaps setting Youtube as the default site on the main page since youtube is a more popular video site?

3. Perhaps you can use labeling like MP4 or FLV instead of normal, medium, etc of the video quality options? 720, 1080 are fine, but just that end users may not know what is the difference of formats, especially between medium and high and 720p?

Nevertheless, it is a very very nice piece of program and work there. You are da man!

It depends on the site. For example, Tube8 provides FLV and 3GP, YouTube provides FLV, 3GP and MP4. There may be other sites that have MP4 videos as well, I just don't know them all.

I'm not sure why the file from GetYTV would be any different, unless he is downloading a different quality file from YouTube. There are some older formats available that I don't grab. Is the file from GetYTV the exact same size as the one from mVu?

You can see the different formats available here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/YouTube#Quality_and_codecs

There is more than one FLV and MP4 format, which is why I didn't label them that way. I could label them based on the resolution of the video.

The "YOUTUBE" protocol is not supported... TCPMP can't handle the video links in that format (I wonder if it's just because the address start with youtube and not http). There should be another way to get the links... youtubeplay is the free alternative available (mix of C and C#).

RedTube videos are in onvp6 format. TCPMP implementation of this is very slow and non optimal (CorePlayer doesn't even play this format). Put the player in "Benchmark" (video will be smoother but it may still lag or audio will be out-of-sync)

Tube8 videos are in h264. TCPMP doesn't support flv files with video in this format. The splitter needs tp be updated maybe...

So far these are not very good news for TCPMP users like myself :(

The youtube:// protocol is specific to Coreplayer. This is what Coreplayer uses internally to stream from YouTube. It will accept links in this format. TCPMP doesn't support that format for links. I assume YouTubePlay does something similar to Coreplayer internally to be able to stream from YouTube. The direct links from YouTube allow me to download the files, but I cannot pass those links to either Coreplayer or TCPMP. I assume both Coreplayer and YouTubePlay create their own requests to YouTube and then stream from the response they get. Short of embedding TCPMP into mVU, I don't know a way around this yet.

Do Tube8 .3gp videos work in TCPMP?

3gp works fine in Tube8 . It's just flv with h264/aac that is the issue (but it's a general format issue in TCPMP... not related with the website).

Sounds like TCPMP needs an update to support Youtube again.

Keep up the good work!! Bugs be damned! Not nearly as buggy as WVD (for me anyway) or 2kineticMVV, but why all of the focus on YouTube when it so damn hard to find good pron to play on our more than capable devices??
What about being able to view sites like ChannelChooser or FreeTube? Best of both worlds I think. Thanks again!:D

After opening a few videos, coreplayer will now start up, but the video will not play.

Oh, and would it be possible to add support for Pornhub.com?

New Version - mVu - 0.6.0.0

A new version (0.6.0.0) has been posted.

This version adds the following:
  • Added ability to start playing videos while they are downloading. May be useful for TCPMP + YouTube, but not an optimal solution.
  • Added ability to cancel downloads.
  • Added Xvideos.com (but it only has VP6 format available which is not supported by Coreplayer).

See the first post for the download link. http://xdaforums.com/showthread.php?t=690288

eheh :) Seems like boring nights are very prolific.

Just tested the play during download approach but it doesn't work. I triggers a "Win32Exception" error. What are the old Youtube formats (they also call the YOUTUBE protocol)?

Some suggestions a future build:
1- Pause downloads
2- Create a download list
3- WVD approach to displaying the results page: it writes the text for all videos but doesn't wait for all thumbnails to be converted (you can browse the results while the thumbnails are still being added)

Been getting some "Value does not fall within the expected range" error when downloading from Youtube.

As a website suggestion I'd love MegaVideo for anime episodes but MegaVideo search never gives the results for episodes uploaded by AnimeCrazy... Guess I can forget about it.

Why not add LiveLeak, DailyMotion, GoogleVideo and Metacafe... I guess this covers the rest of WVD supported websites.

    Thanks for the reply bik2000,

The application installs fine using the uncompressed CAB but when I open it it says "This application (mVu.exe) requires a newer version of the Microsoft .NET Compact Framework than the version installed on this device."

When I download the NETCFv35.Messages.EN.wm.cab it says its not a valid Windows CE setup file. So thats why I can't get it to work. Please can you help me?

I'm using a HP Ipaq hx2000 Intel PXA270 running Windows Mobile 2003 Second Edition.

    Thanks

You need to install .NET Compact 3.5 Redistributable before you install the Messages cab you mentioned above.

You can get it from Microsoft: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...49-3c6b-42f1-9fd9-0041345b3385&displaylang=en

    New Version - mVu - 1.0.10.9

I have just posted a new version (1.0.10.9).

This version has the following changes:
    • Fixed Pornhub
    • Removed Tnaflix

Tube8 seems to be working again without any changes. I removed Tnaflix because the site now requires login to download videos.

You can download the latest version at http://bik2000.appspot.com.

You can find the new site at http://bik2000.appspot.com.

I've already got some screenshots of the updated UI layout on there, as well as a list of some of the new features that you can expect in the next version.
