Thanks, that's exactly what I need tested for all of the builds at this stage. I'd also ask you to check the behaviour of the SD card and/or USB transfer speed. I've gotten a report that file transfers are slower than before. In my testing of the kernel last year, I noticed some micro-stutters during audio playback that was happening when the phone was idle. This audio issue I experienced was likely related to the MMC driver potentially misbehaving, but in the case of the file transfer speed issue, it's equally possible to be the MMC or USB drivers at fault. It'd be great if you could keep an eye on these aspects of the ROM.

BTW, I wasn't aware that beni had the video recorder FC issue. I've applied @Mm7's patch (that was applied to the cooper device recently). Future beni builds will include his fix.

Hi.thanks for applying video recorder patch :) .
well i tested #1151 :
-for once i couldn't wake up my device. i hold power button for 10 sec to hard reboot . except that it was really stable.
-i've listened to music for 2.5 hours and i've had Audio microstutter issue twice .

I've also made some benchmarks of Usb storage with "Gnome Disk" in fedora.
i'v got a class 10 SDcard .write speed is low in both screen off & on but read speed is really lower when screen is off.
here is the results:

when screen is off:

Kernel 2.6

Kernel 3

when screen is on:

Kernel 2.6

Kernel 3

edit:
WOW! file transfer with MTP is really faster Than UMS . about 6.5 MB/s .
also AnTuTu Benchmark shows 4.3MB/s for Writing and 15.9MB/s for reading .

I've flashed build #1165. Camcorder works, but there is a bug with alarmclock: it crashes. Here the logcat. I hope it's usefull

That's a bug in a database that's probably unrelated to the kernel. Try manually selecting a new alarm ringtone and see if it solves the problem... if not, you may need to wait for a newer build.

Hello,
What is the latest working build?
Any special kernel?
Which recovery?
Which additional patches?

If someone could post the links to the above, I would appreciate it.

Thanks.

From androidarmv6, which is down for some reason

The android keyboard in this build does not FC or crash, not once.

androidarmv6: The only downloads I can find for beni are the device configs on GitHub. The jenkins build link has been down for some time.
This build has a build prop date of 20150211.

So did you build this yourself?
Can anyone confirm this was built by androidarmv6?

This was the link, before it went down. Didnt like RC builds so i waited for the stable one. I checked it almost every day.

http://download.androidarmv6.org/_builds/beni/stable/

I downloaded it on the 14th Feb. I dont have the time nor the knowledge to build this stuff myself.

So how do i fix the problem with keyboard crashes? My phone is not usable in this state :/

I assume you performed a clean wipe of data, cache, system and boot?

You could try to download an alternative keyboard, say google keyboard from a working ROM. Then, open the CM 11 ROM zip file in 7zip and copy the google keyboard apk to the system folder then delete LatinIME.apk from system, Close the zip, which will save the zip. Then try installing the edited ROM.

Or if you wait a bit I'll upload a modified zip to SpiderOak containing this keyboard:-

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.pocketworkstation.pckeyboard

Here it is:

https://spideroak.com/browse/share/rSYXI16KDq1RUKTisosJ/4aCMG8 It's in the Android/Beni folder.

Seems a bit late to report, but it bothers me now. The home button does not work, once its boot up to Android. The rest works pretty well.

CyanogenMod is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. Linked below is a package that has come from another Android project that restore the Google parts.
