Do i have to flash new kernel again after update? BTW; i can still use the Buzz 2.2.1 plus kernel?
Sent from my Desire HD using XDA App
Yes you need to reflash whatever kernel you were using. Flashing a rom overwrites the kernel.

ofcourse,, but Bumble-Bee is working on a new kernel
So maybe we are lucky..and we will have a new fast kernel in 5.1.10
Eagerly to see improvements in battery performance instead of features which degrades usability.
Looking forward to the new ROM. With the overclocking daemon, will we have to uninstall No-frill's to use it?
It should offer better battery savings with the new daemon if i'm reading it right?
Saving Battery is first..
Now i'm using Smartass Governour @ maximum 1075.
Uninstalling SetCpu in 5.1,10 will lead to a maximum of 1228.
Could it have bad impact on Battery drain?

And BTW it's up to you if you choose to use CPU Daemon or SetCPU. If you would decide to use SetCPU then new daemon will be inactive.
(3) If you decide to change the CPU frequencies yourself, it's very simple to do.
(3a) With Root Explorer go to system/etc/virtuous_oc and open one of the files you want to configure. You will see:
* wake_min_freq = setting minimal frequency for device when screen is ON
* wake_max_freq = setting maximal frequency for device when screen is ON
* sleep_min_freq = setting minimal frequency for device when screen is OFF
* sleep_max_freq = setting maximal frequency for device when screen is OFF
* wake_governor = governor for device when screen is ON (I do not recommend changing it)
* sleep_governor = governor for device when screen is OFF (I do not recommend changing it)
(3b) To change frequencies you would need to know the frequencies table from the kernel. To get the current frequencies open any terminal or terminal emulator on Android and type:
cat /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/scaling_available_frequencies
Remember to use notepad++ while editing Android text files. Using Windows notepad will remove UNIX coding.
(3d) Now if you know which frequency you want to use, edit proper files in virtuous_oc folder, save it and reboot. Done!
With Android Revolution HD 5.1.10 you can choose whether you want to use SetCPU to control CPU speed and governors
or
...let it handle by new OC Daemon introduced in the Unity ROM.
If you decide to use SetCPU, then new OC daemon wont affect you in any way, it will be simply inactive. But if you want to use OC Daemon then read this small guide:
1. Uninstall any overclocking tools like SetCPU, NoFrills, etc..
2. With new OC Daemon script the frequencies are following:
wake_min_freq = 230400 (230 MHz)
wake_max_freq = 1228800 (1,22 GHz)
sleep_min_freq = 230400 (230 MHz)
sleep_max_freq = 844800 (844 MHz)
You can leave it like that. Our early tests proved, that such default configuration is very good for both battery and performance.
3. But if you decided to change the frequencies for some reason, it's very simple to do.
3a. With root explorer go to system/etc/virtuous_oc and open one of the files you want to configure. You will see:
wake_min_freq = setting minimal frequency for device while it's awake
wake_max_freq = setting maximal frequency for device while it's awake
sleep_min_freq = setting minimal frequency for device while it's sleeping
sleep_max_freq = setting maximal frequency for device while it's sleeping
wake_governor = governor for device while it's awake
sleep_governor = governor for device while it's sleeping
3b. To change frequencies you would need to know the frequencies table from the kernel. The frequencies table from ROM's default kernel:
* 230400 | 307200 | 384000 | 460800 | 537600 | 614400 | 691200 | 768000 | 844800 | 921600 | 998400 | 1075200 | 1152000 | 1228800 *
3c. If you are using different kernel, f.g. LeeDroid's one, you need to check the frequencies table manually. Do it by typing it in any terminal emulator:
cat /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/scaling_available_frequencies
3d. Now when you know which frequency you want to use, edit proper files in virtuous_oc folder, save it and reboot. Done!
I do not recommend changing governors. Don't use SmartAss governor with new OC Daemon. I recommend leaving default governors.
This post will be updated by me if needed
Thanks for the heads up about the new OC daemon, Have you found it makes the the phone more responsive from screen off? I occasionally find it's a bit sluggish when turning on the screen. I guess that's SetCPU's fault.
(I'm using the smartass governor)
Q 1: After flashing Android Revolution HD my battery drains much faster. What can I do?
A: Please charge your battery to 100%, boot your device in ClockworkMod Recovery and go to Advanced ---> Wipe Battery Stats. Also see Question 7.
Also please read this ---> [GUIDE] Enlarge your battery life : an attempt to fix the battery drain
And this ---> [How to] Brilliant Battery Life 100% working!
For more details about wiping battery stats please read this
Q 3: When recording HD video, the playback of the clip keeps freezing. How to fix it?
A: This is probably SD card problem. Format your SD card (FAT32 recommended) to gain silky smooth playback.
Q 5: Is there any alternative for SetCPU? I think it slows downy my phone.
A: You can application called No-frills. Remember to check "Allow on boot" option.
Q 7: My CPU load is all the time nearly 100% and in most part it's used by system. What is the reason of that high CPU usage and how can I fix it?
A: Delete your htcsense.com account. It takes A LOT of your battery and CPU usage.
Q 9: I have some strange issues with my ROM that nobody reported before. What should I do in first place?
A: In first place you should check, if the MD5 Checksum is correct. Then flash ROM again and see if the issue is gone. A lot of strange issues can be solved this way.
Q 11: I can't send/receive MMS or I can't connect with mobile data connection. How can I fix it?
A: Please check your MMS settings or mobile data connection APN settings.
Q 13: When I listen to music from HTC stock player it accidentally pauses for short time and then keep playing.
A: Turn OFF fastboot in settings.
Q 15: My clock/weather widget doesn't show my location. How can I fix it?
A: Please clear data from Google Maps, Clock Widget, Weather, HTC weather sync provider and Weather Provider.
Q 17: I have com.htc.bgc process force close few times a day. How can I fix it?
A: It's because you have removed HtcTwitter.apk (HTC Twitter application). Please restore it.
Q 19: When I open up the call screen (where I see the recent calls and callers), the calls won't appear in the list. What to do?
A: Probably you are using 3rd party launcher. Remove the dialer shortcut and re-add it.
Q 21: Why my "4G" icon is gone from the status bar?
A: My ROMs are based on WWE HTC ROMs. It means that there is no "4G" icon but you have HSPA+ connection with "H" icon anyway.
You think you're addicted from flashing ROMs, checking forum the whole day and you feel like "Android" should be your second name? Well, here's something for fun
