My Note 9 updated to Android 10 and now I am getting the message that to record both sides I need to "enable accessibility service to record from the microphone"
How do i do that?
Wait, does this mean that root is no longed required on Android 10?
@skvalex
feature request - Option to exclude a contact from automatic call recording.
If possible can you add this to next release. I find it annoying to keep deleting calls for particular contacts otherwise I could get in to trouble
It's not on the Magisk repository?i cannot find link to the magisk module, specially the older version (i run magisk 18.1).
someone can provide a link please?
On a Raphael device (xiaomi k20 pro premium) running rooted android 10 MSM-x ROM, unencrypted.
Downloaded magisk module yesterday and paid for license. When i have an incoming call (automatic recording is on) or when I manually press record it gives me an error "this call cannot be recorded", recording file appears when i rescan the folderbut length is 0:-1 and of course doesn't play anything.
This happens both on WhatsApp calls and phone calls.
In WhatsApp calls the record button doesn't even show and the notification says " waiting for a call".
On normal phone calls it appears and the notification is "waiting for answer".
Either way, after I rescan recordings for both types of calls appear as above.
App has all possible permissions, notifications turned on and battery not optimised.
Help? Did I pay for nothing?
Thanks.
PS.
Can I record to mp3? Can it be an added feature?
Try changing the recording root settings in the app, you can also enable mp3 recording there too, enable the accessibility service for it in your android settings.
I'm not sure, I'd try changing the device setting first, the option at the top in root settings.
I just call my carrier service to test as it just a recorded message and also free to call it.
I don't think wifi calling is supported either, well it doesn't work with the normal phone app. Normally call recorders don't work with other wifi calling methods either.
Microphone records just your voice, not both sides. But the other side might be heard if speaker is loud. To enable accessibility service go to Settings > Accessibility > Installed services, then enable "Call Recorder (Android 10)"
To record both sides root is still needed
It's done years ago: Settings > Recording > Exceptions
The only option that works is when changing root recording into standard API recording.
So this doesn't work with whatsapp?
can you recommend an app that does?
I meant in the Root recording settings as shown in screenshot. I'm not sure if it works with whatsapp and I dont know of any to recommend.
I doubt that it'll allow third party apps to access recorded calls, which means system recorder method implemented in Call Recorder won't work.https://ausdroid.net/2020/01/30/goo...rking-on-the-phone-beta-app-release-imminent/
Here is hope that Google will add necessary framework to allow Call Recorder to work on Pixel without root access.
1. For now, it's around 10 USD. May differ slightly depending on your region, currency and taxes.Hey,
What is the price of this app ?
Need root for Pixel 6A with stock ROM ?
It looks like it works as expected, see this https://skvalex.org/help/customize-filenames
I run a business which my existing/potential customers get in touch with me over the phone, so call recorder is a must to me. Since Android 9, I believe I have tried over more than 5 different brands and over 10 different phones, a few of them can record call on both ends with speaker mode but quality is bad. I end up with Google Pixel phones as they are the most easy one to root. What I am saying is that if you want good quality call records, rooting your phone is properly your only choice. Don't get your hope high looking for a phone which has good call recorder without root.
Please make a screenshot of Folders and Files settings. On pixel 7 rooted with magisk.
The files aren't being named the way it is set in the settings.
Is this a known issue?
It used to work fine.
Also - sometimes the app creates a new folder for every call and sometimes it doesn't. Is that a setting?
Looks to me like these two issues are related. When the app is creating a folder for each call, then it will name the folder with the pattern that is set in the settings, but not the actual audio file.

Hi Skvalex,
Let us know if you're still around and if you have any news about reinstating the app in the Google Play.
