New Version - mVu - 0.2.0.0

A new version has been posted with the following fixes:

- Will now attempt to find video player based on associations with flv and/or 3gp files
- Save button will now use Internet Explorer to save the file even if IE is not the default browser
- Attempted to fix thumbnail size issue for QVGA devices, but I did not test this

Please go to the first post for the updated version.

It is still a no-go for my TP2. Is our only option to pay for Coreplayer for smooth playback? TCPMP is not coordinating [see screenshot attachment].

thanx,
Search is still working, play not at all.it finds core player now, but no video is played.
And yes - it finds internet explorer to save.but that's not good, because access is denied for both file types.
I'm not sure, why you think that IE is the right choice, because I copied the url of the 3gp-link to opera 10...and opera started the download :)
(you know that flash is supported in opera 10? Also as one single .cab, so easy for everybody to install)

thanx again

Are you getting the same access denied errors as the screenshots in the post above you? I don't know why it works for me, but not you guys...

Does Coreplayer do anything when it launches?

I'm just using Internet Explorer temporarily to save until I can implement something better. I have nothing against Opera. In fact I use it most of the time on my device.

core player does nothing, is blank.

for ie: the security options are setted depending of windows, so it's device dependent.
(yes,it's like screenshot)
opera is a cab for all, therefore it works.
just call it with parameter url.

perhaps you need something in your code for allowing a site/url in IE... but the easier way is to choose different browsers.the default browsers which are found as registry keys, doesn't work on the most devices (I know it from developing the Rss-Reader).

Does TCPMP work at all with a downloaded file?
Yeah, but it is very laggy in contrast to the album viewer's player.

Really? It simply gave me the same "Forbidden" page on Opera 10 too. Hmm...

(W)QVGA is fixed. mVu now finds TCPMP. Thanks :)

Pocket Internet Explorer seems to be slower than Opera... Hope you implement the download capabilities right into mVu. Also 3gp downloads don't seem to work yet.

I'm experiencing freezes on flv files but I assume it's because of a TCPMP known limitation: it can't play flv files with h264 video (it plays mp4 with h264 though). 3gp files also fail to stream (network.plg seems to have crash for some reason).

Interesting. I installed the version of TCPMP from your signature and I can now stream 3gp to TCPMP. Flv is still a no go in TCPMP.

Any errors with the 3gp downloads?

I have some ideas to try regarding the Forbidden 403 errors. I'm going to try some things with the UserAgent settings and cookies.

For you guys it isn't working for, I am correct in assuming that you are not using IE as your default browser? Anyone not using IE as default where it is working?

3gp downloads give me "Forbidden 403" errors.

PIE isn't my default browser but it shouldn't be relevant right? It could be a version issue (Pocket Internet Explorer in WinMo 6.1 is different from the versions in 6.5).

*laughing* sorry, but who uses PIE as default browser... :) my default is opera 9, installed by Rom and I use Opera 10 and Skyfire, installed to storage card. system 6.5,hd2
Really - simply make it chooseable, or is there a new problem possible?

perhaps it's really useful, that everybody tells to his issue his default browser and also tcpmp and/or core player version?
I use tcpmp 0.71j (doesn't work, says invalid url)
and current core player (also doesn't work, simply blank)
Do you think that installation of youtubeplayer (I mean the special player for all .flv files) could help?

keep up your cool work - thanx
Micha

@MichelDiamond

youtubeplay was developed by milesmowbray using bits of TCPMP and the ffmpeg plugin (so it suffers the same issues as his TCPMP recomp3 version...).

You don't need to use 0.71j anymore. bimbam69 implemented skins into 0.72RC1 (skin files available in his release thread) and also updated a lot of components). Check links from my signature (and make sure to use my fix script before you use the new version... without clearing TCPMP stuff from the registry it'll crash)

I installed it together with a skin, but then I bought core player and so I don't use it anyway.
but: thanx for your help!

Works on my LG Expo using Core Player. Can even download, but connection was timing out, possibly because I'm using Manila Dial Up Enabler/Disabler and it doesn't recognize the download. The way I got around it was to have Slacker Radio playing while downloading to keep the connection active. Also, occasionally get an error message to install a cab .NETCF35 Messages?
Keep up the GREAT WORK!:)

The application requires .Net Compact Framework 3.5. Do you have it on your device?

You can download it from Microsoft: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...FamilyID=e3821449-3c6b-42f1-9fd9-0041345b3385

    Thanks for the reply bik2000,

The application installs fine using the uncompressed CAB but when I open it it says "This application (mVu.exe) requires a newer version of the Microsoft .NET Compact Framework than the version installed on this device."

When I download the NETCFv35.Messages.EN.wm.cab it says its not a valid Windows CE setup file. So thats why I can't get it to work. Please can you help me?

I'm using a HP Ipaq hx2000 Intel PXA270 running Windows Mobile 2003 Second Edition.

    Thanks

You need to install .NET Compact 3.5 Redistributable before you install the Messages cab you mentioned above.

You can get it from Microsoft: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...49-3c6b-42f1-9fd9-0041345b3385&displaylang=en

    New Version - mVu - 1.0.10.9

I have just posted a new version (1.0.10.9).

This version has the following changes:
    • Fixed Pornhub
    • Removed Tnaflix

Tube8 seems to be working again without any changes. I removed Tnaflix because the site now requires login to download videos.

You can download the latest version at http://bik2000.appspot.com.

    New mVu Website

In preparation of the next release of mVu, I've also created a new website for mVu.

You can find the new site at http://bik2000.appspot.com.

I've already got some screenshots of the updated UI layout on there, as well as a list of some of the new features that you can expect in the next version.
