Unfortunately, i do not see many unofficial ports last either because the end user demands and expects updates to be frequent and on time and the developer just doesnt feel like putting up with it, like any other ROM. Recently, there have been MIUI devs forced to stop developing because of nonsense with proper credit given. I dont wanna mention any names.
I just hope that the Bull Shiznit doesnt spread, cause it seems to be more contagious then the common cold, here in the wonderful land of XDA. Thanks to all those that made this possible and to those that are supporting MIUI for the Itsy Bitsy Spyder...
I also have seen developers throw in the towel on several devices I've rooted and rommed. These flashaholics get so demanding and critical because they need their fix. The developer has a life and finally says forget it....this BS don't pay enough to put up with it.
It seems though that when the developer at least stops in and says "hey guys....been busy with kids and work.....I'm still working on it be patient" his followers give him some slack and respect his "other" life. The ones that don't move on to another rom and flame another thread.
I think ski has managed to keep it together. To me, this rom as it stands now could do me until my contract lets me upgrade to the next latest and greatest.
But I know he will make it better still....at his pace not the addict's.
Edit: End of day one....battery life is awesome.
