Always good to know. But I still prefer black background, in low light room it is hard for the eyes with white background.

you might consider a third-party auto-brightness app. i use lux, which allows you to program how bright you want it at specific ambient light levels, so you can build your own curve, and can go so dark you can't see it if you modify its minimum. it can also auto-adjust the color warmth after sunset so you're not looking at a bluish screen at night.
