[tweaks][17/11/2013] (faster gps fix for all roms) & (advanced Build.prop for ARHD)

I would like to share a couple of improvements with you they I have noticed by editing Build.prop and gps.conf!

One tweak don't require the other one.
If you want to flash booth there is no flashing order.


GPS Tweaks
Changelog
  • change NTP_SERVER for specific region
  • much more detail tweaks
  • changes to get the same filebase with HTC One X
  • Aroma-Installer


Installation
  • download
  • push the zip on your sdcard
  • check md 5
  • flash through recovery

Notice
  • with the faster_gps_fix you may not see a faster result at first try. thats because your device have to redownload the a-gps data. so make sure you have a data connection.
    you also can redownload the a-gps data manuall with a market app called GPS-Status for example.

advanced Build.prop
Changelog
  • remove duplicat values
  • change wifi.supplicant_scan_interval to 180 instead of 120 to increase battery
  • change ro.ril.disable.power.collapse to 0 instead of 1 to increase battery
  • add net.tcp.buffersize.default=4096,87380,256960,4096,16384,256960
  • add net.tcp.buffersize.wifi=4096,87380,256960,4096,16384,256960
  • add net.tcp.buffersize.umts=4096,87380,256960,4096,16384,256960
  • add net.tcp.buffersize.gprs=4096,87380,256960,4096,16384,256960
  • add net.tcp.buffersize.edge=4096,87380,256960,4096,16384,256960
  • add debug.sf.nobootanimation=1 to disable bootanimation for little bit faster boot


Installation
  • download
  • push the zip on your sdcard
  • check md 5
  • flash through recovery

Notice
  • to save the bootanimation you can edit "debug.sf.nobootanimation=1" to "debug.sf.nobootanimation=0" in build.prop or delete the hole line

As stupid as this may sound, for ARHD 6.1.0 do I flash the faster gps fix THEN the advanced build prop, or do I flash just the advanced build prop? :s

Hi Bro... Thanks for this :D ...

I took the freedom to modify one of the files so it works for South America :)

So now you also have a GPS fix for South America that you can install from recovery :)

What about europe and what is the difference with the other gps patch that exists at this section?

    Since I installed it I have been driving around for at least 1.5 hours with my Google Maps on and its has not found my position even one time, It gets my location to a certain extent but not once has it pinpointed it 100%.

    I did a Nandroid backup before I installed it, but do you know of an easier way to restore my old GPS config.

    I use 4EXT Recovery; the nandroid BU files contain a "system.ext4.tar". You can open this tar file with 7zip...drill into system\etc and extract (I use copy command) the gps.conf file from your BU.

    Once this is extracted, you can adb push to your device:

    adb remount
    adb push gps.conf /system/etc/gps.conf

    Set permissions to rw- r-- r-- [which is 644]
