OK guys, my Nexus is on its way.

Ordered on the 29th (16GB, UK);

Received a tracking email yesterday at around 6am;

My tracking (or consignment) number was not being recognised by the system, took over 20 hours to show any kind of information.

Checked again a few hours ago. Now it shows "out for delivery".

So my fellow geeks, don't panic! Your Nexus 7 should be with you soon. Or so I hope! :silly:

Yeah seems the only way to get them to do anything at all is to have a stand off with them.

Exactly same date as me and exactly what im going to do today except with Curry's. On hold to Google right now though, so going to be here a while.

good luck mate, just got off the phone with google after a 50min wait, basically you cannot cancel your order, no matter when you ordered it. They apparently only have a 1hour window after you place the order when they can cancel it. The only option is to refuse delivery....apparently. jeesh, no matter i just pre-sold it when it does arrive lol.

UK - Ordering from Tesco...

Joined XDA to say there seems to be a "£10.00 off" deal for Nexus 7 from Tesco. Use code "TDX-KPHM" - for new Tesco customers. Can't post link to XDA forum as new subscriber, but it's on hotukdeals.

Still waiting for N7 but beginning to get the arse...

Dallas
Pre-ordered 16G + Case on June 27
USA Dallas, GA
No Shipment confirmation email yet
Only noticed Google Play order date changed from June 27 to July 17 and My Choice UPS notification today that a label for my address was created by Google.

I admit I did send a very very long professional email to Larry Page CEO of Google today, but I didn't get a response and I am fairly certain the email addy I got for him from the web was not correct, too simple. But the below is odd, I haven't heard this happening to anyone else yet

I cannot believe it but I have been randomly checking UPS and there it was, the Green line stating shipment is in transit. I find a couple of things very odd about this, first I NEVER RECEIVED THE GOOGLE SHIPMENT CONFIRMATION EMAIL! Second as you see below my device is in Kentucky right now and it will be in Dallas, GA sometime in the next 24 hours? Pretty amazing if I do say so myself. So if all goes well I will be the proud owner of my Nexus 7 + Case at some point today (12:52 AM here in the US East coast).

Now I have to try and calm down enough to go get my customary 2 hours of sleep and then an anxiety filled day awaiting that doorbell ring! Of course Ill let you know as the day progresses!

BTW I could also receive my XO Skin screen protector from USPS and my replacement mobile for work from Fedex tomorrow. I just hope they don't all show up at once, that would be awkward ;) :D

And finally I have now received the Google email confirming shipment, the day I am to physically receive it! I am now watching for the UPS truck. Unfortunately I live in the country and UPS most times shows closer to 7PM than 7AM. Regardless I should be holding a Nexus 7 this afternoon.

Got an email at about 2am today from Google Play - got really excited then found its just the 'Status of your order' email that went out to people a few days ago.

No chance of mine turning up anytime soon.

They can and have to if you demand it, as i posted earlier that is exactly the line they fed me and before they had even finished i told the guy i know you can do it if you want and if i could speak to a supervisor, another 5-10 minute wait and my order is in the process of being cancelled. Have the initial e-mail they said they would send me already.

It should be fine considering your order is early, judt escalate to supervisor and politely request an expedition of your order and (if you are really up for it) a full refund of delivery (after all you can pop down Tesco and buy one now off the shelf!?!)
Worth givibg them a call, as we say in Gordieland:

No, Ordered my 16GB on the 27/7, emailed customer services and the reply was an auto generated response saying all 8GB B/orders will ship by 20/7/12, and all 16GB will be shipped by next week! But they have upgraded my shipping to overnight so it arrives sooner!

Wow, I didn't think their were anymore who ordered in the U.S. on 6/27 left. I haven't talked to or emailed anyone at Google yet. I was just trying to patiently wait but didn't think it would take this long. I don't understand what their problem is, they have never had a normal product launch since I've been dealing with them.

There's at least two left from reading the last night's worth of posts. While I have no issues with folks complaining about their order from 7/7 or whenever, very few have had to wait as the few brave souls who have fallen into the 6/27 black hole. The few, the proud, the ones who haven't gotten their Nexus 7 and have waited the longest since ordering than 99% of the people complaining :)

Already reserved one in Curry's this morning and have gone through and cancelled my order with Google(after pretty much straight out demanding to speak with a supervisor), i won't be here from tomorrow morning until next Thursday, so no point in them shipping me a tablet when i won't be about to grab it.

That IS bullsh*t - google want u to believe that. I was offered an IMMEDIATE chargeback (as long as your tablet has not been despatch. If google feed you the its in despatch line ask them to prove it otherwise you aint going of the phone until they do OR give you a refund/chargeback. Good luck - be polite but be firm and stand your ground

Funny, I kept getting notifications too and with every single one I kept thinking it was the one! But instead it was the kids downloading Apps and stuff, lol.

Ok I have spoke to Google, they said as my order doesn;t even have pending charges on it to remove my card from my account and to send an email saying i have done this and to make sure the order is cancelled off, I have done this but am worried that they will still somehow be able to charge me, I might call back later and speak to someone else to make sure this is cancelled, I really would like a comfirmation email of this and the order status to show as cancelled!!

So we can be sure that gamestop is being forced to hold these because of the whiny crybabies who ordererd directly from Google?

We can be sure that you are a douche bag. That, we can be sure of.

I've followed this for hundreds of pages, sat back and wondered why folk where getting themselves more and more chewed up about their Nexus 7 order. I ordered mine on the 4th from the Play Store - I'm based in the UK by the way. I sold my Kindle and my Blackberry Playbook (totally underated tablet by the way) to fund my Nexus purchase.

As time has gone on however it is more and more evident that the delivery is a shambles and the lack of communication from Google is terrible - the final straw was when Pcworld (the one in the UK) has now got them available for delivery, so I've taken the plunge, ordered one and paid to have it delivered tomorrow morning before 12pm. The total price is £209.98 - about a £1 more than the one ordered from Google. When that comes that will be getting put on Ebay.

The reason why I can't wait for it is because of something which I don't think anyone has touched upon so far. It's not because it is essential to my job - it's something a lot more important than that.

I was sat on the toilet and reached across for some reading material (which as we all know is a blokes God given RIGHT) and realised that I had NOTHING to read or do. No Kindle. No Playbook. NOTHING. And that isn't right. Next time I was shopping I bought an Android Magazine in preperation but when the time came it didn't feel right, it felt so 2000's and to be honest I couldn't stand it anymore, hence the PCWorld purchase.

Google employees won't be bothered about that though, I'm sure they are well and truly entertained in their Google HQ bogs but to us men who are mere mortals, having some quality me time in the lav is the only time we ever get to relax.

Google, if your reading this PLEASE pull your finger out and sort out this mess. Men AND Women around the world are asking for your help. Don't punish them any longer.

Summary of the last week Order/Shipping of Nexus 7

It all started on one fine day at the end of June, Google announced that they would be pulling a High End tablet, at a budget tablet price and 50,000 (joking of course, referring to a previous post) of us were sent into a frenzy of ordering via Google Play.

Much of the below is speculation supported by evidence on the web.

    - Google's intention was to ship Nexus 7 units to retail establishments on July 9, 10 arriving at their locations on July 12 for July 13 retail sale.
    - Googles intention was to ship all pre-orders that occurred in first phase (June 27-July 1) on July 9 for arrival on Wednesday July 11 well ahead of Retail sale.
    - Something happened and the PRE-ORDERS were not shipped. Retails orders were shipped as planned. Some speculate it was the magnet that Google was concerned would result in a court ordered stay on sales or possibly the update from 4.1 to 4.1.1 that caused the delay. Possibly even the hardware, dead pixel, WiFi (not as substantiated) issues that caused the delay, whatever the reason Pre-Orders by consumers did not ship.
    - Retail establishments were told DO NOT DISPLAY, SELL ANY DEVICE UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE. Most Retails stores initially adhered to this request BUT some missed it or ignored it and the Nexus 7 was now in the hands of a few consumers, and word spread quickly. The slinky affect occurred in retail stores, if some are selling it why can't we.....and more stores began selling the devices.
    - On Friday July 13 Google realized it truly was a day of bad luck and rather then have both Retail consumers and Pre-Order consumers be upset they either officially or unofficially released the ban on sale and retailers released the flood gates on the 5 Nexus 7 devices they received.
    - Also on Friday July 13 Google believed they had a handle on the issue keeping them from shipping our Pre-Orders was under control, or at least they decided to start the shipping process for Ore-Orders which screwed up that process even more. There was no rhyme or reason to which pre-orders were released for shipment some were first phase, some were 8G/16G, none of orders included accessories. Some of the email sent were from the original label printing on July 9 (it was July 13, 14 by then) were sent on July 14, but one thing was for certain the PRE-ORDERS were hosed from July 9 and there was no sorting it out.
    - On Friday July 13 many of us purchased a Nexus 7 from retail establishments with disregard to our Google pre-orders. We will have two devices but that is not always a horrible thing. Demand is certain to be high for these devices next week and most of us have spent countless hours tracking these devices down so you may be able to recoup some of the financial loss by listing on Craiglist or Ebay or even here if you want to sell your second device.

WARNING!!! - It has been said that you will only get 1 $25 Play credit per GOOGLE User ID, please do not think this is by device or you will lose this opportunity. My advice is you purchased two devices you deserve two credits so go raise a separate GMAIL id and register your second device under that ID. Make your purchases in Google Play store and transfer your purchases to your primary account later.

FYI - There is another opportunity to get a $10 Google gift card. Go into the Google Wallet App on your new Nexus 7 and register. You will be informed that you will get a $10 Google Wallet gift card once registration is completed and sure enough right there in Google Wallet you will see your $10 gift card.

Most of all have fun playing with your Nexus 7, and hit the Thanks button on my post here is you enjoyed the above summary or if it was helpful. Feel free to make corrections or add anything I may have missed. Again the data here is gathered form this Forum, and other news outlets.

I was told by a google employee that it will be sent in waves in order of when your order was places.

I was told that they would be sent in literal waves, encased in little boats that would float to your doorstep.
    11
After seeing how Google handled their stock offering and the way they are handling their pre-orders, I no longer want to have anything to do with them. I'll be leaving a note on my front door informing deliver guys that I refuse delivery of any shipments from Google or Asus.

I had wanted to try an android device but I'll stick to Apple from now on.
