Can I root and install a rom, without volume keys?

I got this old sgs2 and I broke the flex cable for the volume keys so they don't work at all... Can I still root it and install a custom rom without the use of those keys

Hola, if you use a custom recorvery, there have touch input. Then there should be no problems
