I'm so glad another Material version of V4A has popped up. The latest UI redesign made the app look worse then ever and the old Material version stopped getting updated right when it was needed most. Thank you very much!

Go to system/addon.d, delete 91-v4a.sh then dirty flash your ROM.

Dude... I wanted to try this out since I couldn't get Viper working with just the app install (from their website instructions), etc, but having to dirty flash to get rid of it.. Yeah, I'll skip out on it.

Thanks though! :)

Technically you can remove it without dirty flash. First backup this 2 files:
/system/etc/audio_effects.conf
/system/vendor/etc/audio_effects.conf

Now if you want to remove v4a, just restore(copy) those 2 files and delete /system/lib/soundfx/libv4a_fx_ics.so

Oh, and dont forget to delete the app from /system/priv-app/Viper4Android then reboot

It's just that the dirty flash is the easier way to do it.

Ok, cool. I'll give it a go. I've got root, understand how to do that basic stuff anyway, so no biggie.

Thanks again!

I'd suggest to change the checkboxes to switches. :)
We are not able to do that with the current code we have. As soon as they make the app open-source we will look into that.

The update to material design is nice, but completely worthless considering the app STILL won't install the driver on my HTC 10, and hasn't for over a year now.
We are not able to change anything 'under the hood' because we need Java files which they didn't release yet :(

Hi mate, can u make a flashable zip of this using guitardedhero's zip?
Thanks.

As this is 2.5.0.5 it should be "guitardedhero"´s apk too. So how do you want to make a flashable zip out of it? Both have the same "engine" but different designs.
You can only have one or the other. The only possiblility would be if the arise team takes this zip for arise or theme their 2.5.0.5 version too.
Someone correct me if I´m wrong.

That's lame. I apologize as I reread my original comment and it sounded pretty rude. I know first hand from posting roms, themes and other stuff here that it's just not necessary as you use your personal time for these projects and it's a motivation killer reading rude responses to your thread.

I guess that leaves me with a few questions. Is the issue an incompatible driver? If it's not I noticed the drivers are located in the Viper4android apk file, can I extract them and place them manually? Pretty sure I can find their locations from previous responses to the thread.

Sorry mate, i mean can we just simply replace the apk inside guitardedhero's v4a zip with the apk posted in this thread? I wonder whether this method can be done or not because the materialized apk has different package name compared to the original v4a apk. Thus, mybe it need a different name or the folder where the apk is being placed should be renamed or the script need to be edited etc.

    Introduction

Many users are enhancing their smartphone audio experience with the popular ViPER4Android software, just like us. But we despised the way the app looked after the 2.5.0.5 update. So that had to be fixed, right?

    - Textsizes
    - Navigation bar
    - Dialogs and popups
    - Settings
    - Package name has been changed to not conflict with the original app

    Hi everybody,
It's time for an announcement. Instead of maintainting this doomed to die project, me and @Mr_White_214 have invested our time in this updated version of v4a. This means this project is no longer maintained as we feel no need to do so. I recommend all of you to check out the new version we worked on.
Check it out yourselfves over here!

This AMOLED version I tested and works fine for the most part and can be installed normally as an user app. The only minor issue is that you can't really see what option you have chosen in for example the Viper Bass or Viper Clarity mode section but all features work as intended. The cause of this is that I changed the color of those parts on the buttons accidentally to black, I can't figure out what those color values are. Maybe the creators of the materialized theme could help with that so I can set the proper color so the selected button is less darker, that should solve that visibility problem. After that, the AMOLED Theme should be complete and a nice option for those who have AMOLED displays or just like the clear black style. If requested, if could change the accent color to your taste but I would have to edit the circular scroll buttons as they are made of PNG image files. I would have to edit the color on the tiny dot to the chosen accent color.

I made sure to change the package and app name so this version can be installed along side the original one so you guys won't have to uninstall yours.

Even after installing busy box.. Facing same problem.. Do I need to flash any zip file????
Try this flashable zip that I made. You wont need busybox for this

    This removes AudioFX/MusicFX
