The main reason is the same as with a PC...Why would someone like more an 1280 x 1024 resolution on a 19" LCD screen and not an 800 x 600 one?
Because more information fits on-screen. If someone is comfortable with the smaller font size (eg. has good eyes), a higher resolution provides a better experience for those that need this. Who's not used with such small fonts or don't like it or have eye strain, could find better the normal resolution. Is only a matter of taste. Personally I prefer 200-220 setting. Standard 240 looks a little bit lower for me, and everything seem huge...I prefer smaller icons/letters and more "desktop space"

He is still WORKING on it. It's not yet fully combilable. IF it will be compilable it most certainly will NOT boot. IF it will boot it WILL have errors... it's still a way to go so everyone do it like me... take a break and enjoy champions league semi finals
i just thought kernel port is easy like port roms. but i understand now, its very hard work, big respect to linux devs..
It has nothing really exciting except the latest CM patches and some Advanced Phone Settings: Vibrate on Answer, Vibrate 45, Vibrate End and Vibrate on Call Waiting. You can find these options on Call Settings.
I can't find it so assume it isn't there, but is it possible to silence the incoming ring by flipping the phone over?
Eg incoming call, don't want to answer it but don't want to reject it. Like when you're avoiding a call from your girlfriend lol
UCS HD by lowveld has "Turn to mute ring" feature http://xdaforums.com/showthread.php?t=1575395
Or you could just hit the volume key once to silence the call without disconnecting it...
Do you ever get odd spacing in apps when running a higher DPI? I did during my Hero days and so have avoided this since.... but I did like the higher res look.

I have it now on 192 (1.2 multiplier) and everything works nicely. Had to apply a Google Play patch though... Otherwise some apps were not compatible. Is 190 working without issues for you ?

We are not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards, thermonuclear
war, or the current economic crisis caused by you following these directions.
YOU are choosing to make these modificiations, and if you point the finger at
us for messing up your device, we will laugh at you.
These are Alpha quality builds and are very much still in development.
Features may not work, or may crash, they may alternate between functioning
and non-functioning between builds. Please look over the lists below before
reporting suspected bugs.
Please note: Currently only the included kernel is supported. Other AOSP
kernels may not be fully compatible with ICS and may cause issues.
In recovery:
- Wipe all (system, data, cache)
- Flash cm-9-XXXXXXXX-UNOFFICIAL-saga.zip
(where X is date of the latest build)
- (Optional) Flash Google Apps
In recovery:
- Wipe cache
- Wipe dalvik-cache
- Flash cm-9-XXXXXXXX-UNOFFICIAL-saga.zip
(where X is date of the latest build)
If you unlocked your phone via htcdev.com, you must flash the included
boot.img after flashing the ROM in recovery:
- Boot into fastboot, either by:
- Turning phone on whilse holding VOLUME DOWN, or
- adb reboot bootloader, or
- using an option in your recovery (eg. Reboot Bootloader)
- Connect your phone to your PC and copy the boot.img from the ROM .zip
to the same place as fastboot.exe and issue the following command:
- fastboot flash boot boot.img
Failing to follow these instructions on a htcdev.com unlocked device will
cause the ROM to fail to boot, or will cause other issues.
