Still nothing... i read that i needed a processor clocked at 1.6 ghz and mine is at 1.5 so maybe thats the problem with that virtual c++ thing. ahh anyways going to try the decrypted one see how that goes

Stuck at updating... checking header

So glad to see this RUU. Sadly, though, I'm not able to get it to work. I have tried downloading more than once, but each time when updating, I get stuck at 4% with the message 'Updating...(1/5) Checking Header.......'

I have the RUU still for my current version (I'm not rooted), 4.06.651.4 and am able to successfully run that RUU utility to completion.

I doing something wrong?

In researching, I'm wondering if I could use the update labeled 'Full Firmware from RUU (fastboot flashable)'- maybe following directions from this thread: http://xdaforums.com/show....php?t=2497614. Only thought there is that the RUU is near 1.5GB and the link to the fastboot flashable Full Firmware is only 43.8MB. Seems such a huge difference.

Newbie... but trying.

Once again...

Once again, you have done (through this post) exactly what I needed. This post has fixed my phone (again). I was ready to just sell it on ebay as is because I was tired of dealing with it. But I decided to give it one more shot. Now my phone is fully functional again. Many many thanks... Where's that donate button? :D

Hello,

I used this RUU because I was having trouble with my phone cutting in and out of Data/WiFi. It was great and then I installed TWRP and rooted the phone. I have gone back to the Data/WiFi cutting in and out issue.

Does anyone know how I can keep the phone rooted and not have this happen?

Thanks.

I am having the 4% issue also. Could it be the modified Hboot?

EDIT: I had to flash the full firmware, then the RUU went just fine. I think it does not like the eng. Hboots. :)

Yikes- I am not sure what this means. It sounds like you found a way to make it work, which is great. I'm not sure what is meant by flashing the full firmware and then running the RUU. I'm so sorry, but eager to learn how to make it work. Is that the smaller 48MB file? Can I download it and then put somewhere on the phone to fastboot flash - and THEN do the RUU?

Thanks much for your help!

There are 2 firmware choices for you. 1 is modified, the other is full. You have to use a pc/mac and fastboot flash the full one so it overwrites your hboot. You will also lose your recovery, but if your plan is to RUU stock, that won't matter.

There is a video to help you.

When I first ran the RUU it didn't identify my phone. After flashing the firmware it read it. Hope that helps you.

Now I'm looking for a version that has all the sprint cr@p stripped out. Should I just load the deoxdized one?
