my bootloader is unlocked on my P768. I have flashed a P760 JB kdz.file before.

I suggest you first install a JB rom that is not from a carrier (open) and unlock the bootloader. Then flash the JB rom for 768 so will have the camera working and able to connect to IUSACELL carrier due to being bootloader unlocked.

Its 2 days but not one from Mexico confirmed that it works for other SIMS or not, it could be Sim-locked or not. If Telcel have locked the sim, then phone will not work with other company sim. I am not from that region so at the moment I cannot tell you.

Just wait for 2/3 days. People are working on custom stock roms. When they will remove this sim-lock restriction, then I will advice you to flash.

You can flash this for unlocking bootloader, but you said you are newbie, so I will advice you to wait for someone experienced do that first properly and then you can go ahead on his/her(?) confirmation.

Till then wait with patience.

Please note at the moment, there is no other JB available for P768. So I will advice him not to flash JB from other variants just for the sake of Unlocking bootloader. Even experts could not quickly recover the dead camera when they flashed P760JB on P768. So please be careful, what you are advising to newbies. He is from other carrier and newbie. he mentioned so.

Telcel usually locks their phones. They are easily unlocked though.

That is correct, in mexico All carriers lock their phone, if unlocked, will it still work the data plan with my carrier?, also, if unlocked, then can I flash Jelly bean?

how to root indian ics LG Optimus L9 (P76510G)

Hi.

I recently purchased this Indian version of LG Optimus L9 (P765-10G) and it came with ICS out of the box. I checked for software updates but there is no new updates available. If jelly bean update was out , maybe it gets unlocked bootloader and makes flashing roms lot easier. But the phone is now on ICS with locked bootloader.

So now how can i flash cyanogenmod on it. I have read few threads here which says to flash kdz . Will that process applies to my software version (P765-10G)?
And can i unlock the bootloader now ?
If i flash kdz and install custom rom now, can i go back to the stock rom that im currently having so i can claim warranty? Or should i wait for the official jelly bean update (no status) which gives me unlocked bootloader and makes things easier?

What do u suggest?

Good news guys,tested the P768 JB Rom and....IT WORKED GREAT
ITs faster ,better and yes the sim card is not locked
Its works perfectly fine with my current carrier

And my carrier is Vinaphone in Vietnam
What i meant was the rom works with any mobile operator ,so AT&T T-mobile,what ever...

Hey P768 users, If you unlocked your bootloader and would like to keep it unlocked, dont flash the JB rom. I think the JB rom relocks your bootloader. After flashing the V20A, in software update mode, my phone no longer says Bootloader Status: Unlocked. I had previously unlocked it by flashing a P760 JB rom. As Lelus said in another thread, it seems this JB rom doesnt have the ability to unlock the bootloader. For now, Im going back to ICS.

Just thought id give a heads up to everyone.

If you do it you get crashes in Phone App.

Thats not what i am hearing from my fellows in Mexico who share the same model as me ( P768G), so either share a lot more detail about how you have done it or be very careful with what you are posting here since such afirmations can send a lot of newbies (like my self) into a wrong and stressfull path!
