AT&T Release Date???

Ill walk in and pick it up on the 6th.
I would do that... but my AT&T store has scarred me. I don't want a phone that has been tampered with.
I may ask them to ship to store though to get it the 6th.... blah
I know this is in the wrong section, but this made me really happy. According to PeterHTC's findings, the camera on the One XL he just received from Rogers actually rests inside the metal ring! So we may not have the scratched lens problem!!!
EDIT: A few others have also reported that the camera is indeed recessed into the metal ring.

This late in the game might as well wait to see what Galaxy S3 is going to look like before you preorder the One XL. If S3 just blows One XL out of the water you may want to wait 2 months until it's released.

Never preordered from AT&T's website before. Will preorders receive the phone by Friday the 4th, or would it be after Monday the 6th?
When I checked out, AT&T's website showed it would ship on May 2 with free 2-day shipping. My fingers are crossed for Friday the 4th.
I can confirm that it told me they would ship on the 2nd and deliver on the 4th via 2 day shipping.
In case anyone wonders, I also ordered one of the HTC cases that AT&T has listed as an accessory - it did not impact the shipping estimate.

Did you guys have to update your data plan to the $45 4g/lte when you did the order on line? I currently have the $25 2 gb data and it would not let me go to the check out without upgrading my data plan. Can any shed some light on this for me?

Maybe try calling them? I normally pre-order by phone with them.
I am switching from an iPhone 4, so I had to change data plans from the iPhone unlimited data package ($30/mo) to "LTE Smartphone unlimited personal add-on" ($30/mo). My understanding is that I am grandfathered into my unlimited data plan I had on the iPhone 4 by checking this option and that it is not available to everyone, but I truly have no idea.

Also, I did not see a $25 or $45 plan when selecting my data plan. The following is what I recall seeing:
- LTE DataPro 300MB for $20/mo.
- LTE DataPro 3GB for $30/mo.
- LTE DataPro 5GB for $50/mo.
- LTE Smartphone Unlimited Personal Add-On for $30/mo.

Customer Care from AT&T never takes training's on devices so other then official announcements they wouldn't know anything.
I just want to be clear, I am not saying it will be 100% released on the 22nd. Just 6 years with the company I know what to look for when a new device launches. I can be wrong and AT&T just pull a device without replacing it (wouldn't be the first time but rarely does it happen). Also HTC only has 2 Android devices with AT&T. If they discontinue one of their best sellers they would need something to fill the gap.

Yes its totally possible. On Wednesday our merchandising reset site will be updated to reflect 4/22 so I will know more then. Only problem is im off the next two days so I wont be able to confirm anything till Thursday which we will get a confirmation by then hopefully.31516195 allinger
I know that. The Marketing, commercials, bill boards and magazine ads, web ads are not to be released to ATT until the following day. My office is not open on Sunday. We have a meeting with ATT corporate to go over the ads for the Florida market on Mon.
Ads for products are marketed usually to a regions demographic. ATT has their own marketing dept for the entire US. They already have a commercial and ads for the phone. I seen them last week. We are being told to go with '4G' as the main selling point. Since Florida has a good bit of 4G areas already available, especially in central FL, Tampa and Orlando.3I'm an AT&T Employee and just completed a training for the HTC One XL... we have a store reset on April 22nd (which usually means new devices since we pull EOL devices). I'm gonna guess that might be the release date also since the HTC Inspire is finally coming off the wall and last time I talked to the HTC Rep they said that when the Inspire is done the Vivid will replace its price range and the One XL will replace the Vivid.
