I've been trying to get transparent statusbar on CM7.2 rc1 for Atrix, and came across this thread. I have literally tried every method I could find on xda and none of my mods seem to work.
At this point I am pretty sure I have missed something obvious, but can't really nail the problem.

Is there a CM7.2 rc1 statusbar mod for Sensation? Which edits are used to make the statusbar transparent on the latest CM7.2 builds?

Anyway, I have attached the SystemUI.apk in case you can help me out. :confused:

7.2 for sensation? There's another release? anyhow, I need your framework-res and systemui together. Which device are you doing it for? Atrix or the sensation?
Edit : Try using notepad++. I noticed on some computers, notepad just won't save the file properly and it'll revert the files back to original.

hey, any luck with the theme?

Everything is fine, I think... I just can't seem to get it to compile. Even a format didn't help :/

Edit : Give me till tomorrow, I'll install the whole SDK shiitt and recompile. HOPEFULLY that'll work. Although from what I know apktool and the SDK should have no relation... but I'll work it out.

I am trying to make it work on the Atrix. CM7.2 is out for the Atrix and either I am doing something wrong or the transparent statusbar hacks no longer work on this CM version.

I would appreciate if you can have a look at it.

    HTC Sensation CM7 Transparent StatusBar

    Code:
    What this means :-
    You get transparent statusbar with themes that have a transparent statusbar_background.png

    What you need :-
    CM7 Alpha 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9 and 10
    Custom recovery menu

    Launchers :-
    Launcher Pro - Only works with Live Wallpaper, if normal wallpapers you'd have to Hide notification bar at Appearance Settings
    Adw Launcher - Disable Wallpaper Hack
    Go Launcher - don't work atm
    GB Launcher - No problems
    Arc Launcher - No problems ( I use this. Looks better and feels better than all others. )

    Patch
    Code:
    [URL="http://dl.dropbox.com/u/11560058/patch.zip"]Patch for 1,2,3,4 and 5[/URL]

    [URL="http://dl.dropbox.com/u/11560058/10%20unpatch.zip"]UndoPatch for 9,10[/URL]

    Apply VIA CWM. Please make a nandroid just incase.

    Themes
    Code:
    [URL="http://dl.dropbox.com/u/11560058/Cyanbread.apk"]Cyanbread.apk[/URL]
    [URL="http://dl.dropbox.com/u/11560058/Androidian.apk"]Androidian.apk[/URL]

    [URL="http://dl.dropbox.com/u/11560058/signedMixerTheme.apk"]MixerTheme.apk[/URL]

    ( They will appear as @string/theme_name so just try. I don't know how to fix this yet )

    This is how to make this patch work with other themes.

    1 : Pull theme APK from device ( titanium backup would work fine )
    2 : Unpack the APK
    3 : Make a semi transparent 480x38 png named statusbar_background2 and place it in /Res/Drawable-HDPI ( it does not have to replace the old statusbar background. ) It can have textures or just transparent. This part will replace your old statusbar background. (You can pull it off another transparent APK. Will not tell you which theme go search :p)
    3 : Go into /Res/XML and find com_android_systemui.xml and open with a text editor.
    4 : Find the lines
    @drawable/statusbar_background.9

    and change it to

    @drawable/statusbar_background2
    ( Change the item name to the png you've made )
    If it's not there just add the 2nd line with red words :p

    Then repack your apk and install and apply. Should work! if it does not, contact me.

    Once again this flashable zip file belongs to ZduneX25 and not me. Make sure to check out the original thread

    Is android able to render a blur on menus like Aero in Windows? That would look nice.

    Not sure what you mean, show a screen shot?

    If you look at the taskbar or window frames in Vista/7 you can see it's blurred (if Aero is enabled). So what I'm asking is if it's possible to add this kind of blur to transparent parts of the Android GUI. I came to think of it when I noticed that the background gets blurred when you open "Phone options" by long-pressing the power button.
