Turn HTC HD7 Into USB,Plug & Play HTC HD7,Alternative to Zune,PC Suite for HTC HD7

For Windows XP (Best Alternative to ZUNE)
Go to Start > Run > (type) REGEDIT (hit enter)

Second Step: Navigate yourself to

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE>SYSTEM>CurrentControlSet>Enum>USB

>Under that open Vid_045e&Pid_04ec&MI_00
> Than open 6&2c1e16e4&0&0000
> Open Device Parameters.
Change following the Following values by Double Click on the File Names

Change Show In Shell from 0 to 1.

Change Portable Device Name Space Exclude From Shell from 1 to 0.

Change Enable Legacy Support from 0 to 1.

Now you have to Log off the computer or may be restart it to enable the changes (I guess not will not be necessary). Now plug in your Windows Phone 7. After plugging in you will notification of new hardware. Now you will be able to access all the files on your Windows Phone. Here you can easily perform simple operations like copy, paste, modify, rename or delete, etc.

Thanks

Thank you yunx123, it works fine for me,
I have got different name in the:
>Under that open Vid_045e&Pid_04ec&MI_00
> Than open 6&2c1e16e4&0&0000
mu number starts with 6&3, I think it depends how many devices
you have plugged into your USB ports.

Big BOOOOOOOOOO to thesecondsfade for his behaviour, if you have known that
6 months ago why didn't you share it then, maybe you should attach link to your knowledge,
before you make any negative comments.

I've completed all the steps listed above but my device still isn't shown in my computer.
Anyone knows what is the problem? Do you need the Zune program to make this work?

something fishy about this post

firstly - that post title makes NO sense - it's like it was specifically built for SEO bait

Secondly - this isn't even the HD7 forum
