I don't know about the 27th - 28th statement specifically, but 3 people on 3 separate instances got a specific range of dates (April 19th - 27th) out of Acer's customer support. If you haven't seen them yet, all the transcripts are posted in the "ICS Chat w/ Acer Tonight" thread.

All of us got the same range as well, so it lends some credence to being correct. Who knows, I guess we'll find out!

It's my understanding that may 3rd is believed to be a french release date so far. So said Acer France to those who recently asked them at least.
So it looks it'll be one or two weeks sooner for Acer America.
All these dates seem credible to me, hope it's gonna be so, I'm looking forward to it !

Hadn't read anything about the 3rd yet, good to know. I really wish they could/would give some more specifics about locations and dates, seeing as it's already the 16th, but either way at least official ICS is almost here. Can't wait for the final bugs to be worked out of the custom roms.

In all seriousness, waiting for the official release of ICS for the A500 is not bad at all because we already have so many custom ROMs ported. I go back and forth between two ROMs, one of which is Civato's Flexstriker. The other will remain unnamed in these forums.
