I Found that the service called omadrmconfigservice hogs battery while ur screen is off. bascially it won't allow the device to sleep. It's function is to check for theft from media hub. It runs constantly, updating every 11.5 seconds. simple solution.

remove sisodrmprovider.apk from system/app

tell me if u notice any battery changes. thanks

To Stop it >> Settings >> Applications >> Running Services

DONE, Stopped. Checking for a few days to compare results. Now,

[Q] If I stop the service, it will at some point restart automatically?

HOW TO REMOVE THE OmaDRMconfigService.drm TO GET MORE BATTERY LIFE ON EPIC
.
.
Download the Sdx App Remover:
http://www.multiupload.com/C6SOOBI7NN
- Install the Sdx App Remover with a File Browser such as Astro or Estrong.
1. Open Sdx App Remover and search for drmprovider.apk. and drmUa.apk
2. Back up the file and then delete it. (The backups are in the sdx folder on your sdcard)
3. go to running service and find this and stop it
4.reboot you phone

doing this you get more battery please let us know how it works for you
——————————————————————

Edit: you need to delete "sisodrmprovider" too so when you reboot the service won't start again
Edit2: before ask make sure you device is preperly rooted :p

It shouldn't. But I'm pretty sure it'll start on every boot.

I couldn't find any files of the same name as posted first, but I did find "DRM content 2.2.1", and "DRM content launcher 1.0" Just checking but are those it?

Do these files have anything to do with "download manager"process from media hub. I tried killing the running service but it always restarts itself

I think it affects the stock music player also because I rename the file and tried playing music it worked but when I try to skip songs it freezes..
