I'm kind of on a time table, a friend if mine is going thru a courtroom situation with the mother of his children. So please understand the urgency.
I have downloaded multiple recovery programs for the "attempt" to recover text messages on the s3.
Most of these programs seem to not connect with this phone. He is running 4.1.2 and I have USB debugging enabled. After extensive research it seems the problem is that his phone doesnt have usb mass storage mode when connected to a pc. It is MTP mode. Which seems MTP is what programs aren't compatible with.
I have also read I may have to root his phone to even attempt to recover anything. Which is something he's not willing to do for warranty issues.
Other info is this phone is blacklisted, has no sim card. I have tried all the unplugging and reconnecting tricks to get usb mass storage mode. They don't work.
Any help? Please.
