NOTE: For WQVGA (as in Omnia, 240x400) Version, please see this post:http://xdaforums.com/showpost.php?p=2633664&postcount=245

Update 12-Sep-2008 : Layout variations available, see FAQ #10
Update 11-Sep-2008 : Dark Version available. For white text over a dark background (color theme version), see FAQ #9
Update 10-Sep-2008 : Added Omnia today theme tsk file (attached below)
Update 09-Sep-2008 : Cab file (see How to Install below) and Phone Suites profile icons (see FAQ #8)

---------------------

Inspired by Samsung Omnia. This theme is for QVGA devices ONLY. Optimized for portrait mode use, but also supports landscape mode.

NOTE: I designed this for Mobile Shell 2.1.2, but it should work on version 2.1 (with issues on highlights and overlapping classes.)

Features/Notes/FAQ:
1) Now Screen, Calendar page, Launcher Page, MRU Page, 3 Contacts pages. (Gesture left or right to get to the MRU and other Contacts pages.)
2) Selecting any of the Color Themes will result in a change in the Today wallpaper similar to the theme's background image.
3) If you prefer flat black bars (which I think goes well with the theme), please see this post: http://xdaforums.com/showpost.php?p=2585006&postcount=4
4) I added additional Main Menu icons (please see post#2 below.)
5) For Games and Task Menu items with correct Menu Icons, please see this post: http://xdaforums.com/showpost.php?p=2584998&postcount=2
6) How to switch between the 3 different Now Screens? please see post#3 below.
7) How to show calendar events and Alarm on the Calendar Page and Professional Now Screen? pleasee see post#3 below.
8) For SPB Phone Suites users, you can try the profile icons here: http://xdaforums.com/showpost.php?p=2617408&postcount=57
9) Is there a version with white texts and a darker background? Yes, please see this post: http://xdaforums.com/showpost.php?p=2624349&postcount=158
10) Can you please make a simpler version, e.g. only one contact page? It's already available here... http://xdaforums.com/showpost.php?p=2628054&postcount=204

How to install:
1) Download zip file attached.
2) Extract on your hard drive.
3) Copy all extracted .dat files to your device's \Program Files\Spb Mobile Shell directory.
4) Soft reset device.

EDIT: If you're not into manually copying files, you can try the cab installer posted by jeffrey2000 here: http://xdaforums.com/showpost.php?p=2616654&postcount=36
Enjoy!

I added additional Main Menu icons as follows:

menuiconscopyim5.png

How to change the Main Menu icons:

1) Using a registry editor, navigate to HKLM > Software > SPB Software House 2 > SPB Mobile Shell > Menu > Root
2) Open the key you want to change, e.g. "Active Tasks"
3) Change "Image" value.

Image values as follows:
4 = My Menu icon
8 = Games icon
9 = Active Tasks icon
10 = File Folder icon (can be used if you use the 9th menu item to link to Explorer)

To switch between the 3 available Now Screens:

1) Classic - Analog : Go to SPB Menu > Settings > SPB Mobile Shell > Choose for "Layout" = Classic > Click "Configure" > Choose "Clock Type" = "Analog"

2) Classic - Digital : Go to SPB Menu > Settings > SPB Mobile Shell > Choose for "Layout" = Classic > Click "Configure" > Choose "Clock Type" = "Digital"

3) Professional : Go to SPB Menu > Settings > SPB Mobile Shell > Choose for "Layout" = Professional

To display the calendar events and alarm on the Calendar Page and the Professional Now Screen:

1) Go to SPB Menu > Settings > SPB Mobile Shell > Choose for "Layout" = Classic > Click "Configure" > On "Display Options", Tick(check) "Show Current and upcoming appointments"

2) Go to SPB Menu > Settings > SPB Mobile Shell > Choose for "Layout" = Professional > Click "Configure" > Tick(check) the 2 checkboxes and choose "Auto" for "Alarm" and "Calendar"

===================

EDIT: See post #18. :)

===================

This is for QVGA devices only. Meaning, it won't run on the Omnia and the i780. Somebody will have to edit the layout dat file to make it work. I don't have access to those two devices to test and make it compatible. Sorry...

Hi greatbal,

very nice theme indeed thanks for your great effort, but need your help as i am not getting the appointments showing on the now screen for both Analog & professional , only getting it on the calendar screen, using SPB MS2.1.2 on my htc touch.
Any suggestions ?

Edit,

Got it working after re-sync. thanks anyway for this theme.

You can only see amaximum of two appointments/all-day events on the Professional Now Screen.

Have you tried the answer to FAQ #7 posted on the FIRST post?

Features/Notes/FAQ:
1) Now Screen, Calendar page, Launcher Page, MRU Page, 3 Contacts pages. (Gesture left or right to get to the MRU and other Contacts pages.)
2) Selecting any of the Color Themes will result in a change in the Today wallpaper similar to the theme's background image.
