If you ever updated to Nougat you are on N modem.
You can't install any build, you need a version prepared for N modem.

There is also a Carbon version that works in my thread. I've got an updated AOKP that I still need to upload too.

I received an XT1572 (EU version) to tinker with, on monday, since a family member had bought a new phone.

As far as I can tell TWRP 3.2.1-0 is working with NPH25.200-15-8 being installed, too. I was able to take backups, to wipe everything on the phone and to install the LOS version that is linked above without facing any issues.

Edit: Looks like I didn't test carefully enough. After installing LOS TWRP starts misbehaving.

Did you try backup, restore, wipe after LOS installing?

As the OP of a thread, you can always report your opening post and ask the mods to sticky it*. Asking for permanent redirects to this thread that get stickied to the top of the Q&A and/or the dev sections might make sense, as well.

* That doesn't mean that everyone who asks for it gets their thread stickied, though.

Any custom has its own kernel based on N or MM sources.
All roms from OP have N-based kernel.

Yes(I hope), but u need to format data, cache partitions to f2fs after flashing bewest twrp.
All data fom internal storage will be erased.
