Data roaming option disabled ?

Hi there Nyco,

First of all thanks for make this great stuff available for everyone that's having a B5510. I having the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean (JV3 by Avijut) flashed version for 1 year ago and it works great. However once I traveled out of my country (spain) and I cannot send data through roaming data because the option is disabled. Do you know the reason this options is disabled ? (I cannot post a picture)

Hi, this looks like either an APN missconfiguration or a disabled module in the ROM. I al sorry not to actively develop this ROM anymore ; so the only advice I can give is to try to reconfigure your APN (should be in network -> other options) or to flash my own ROM which is entirely based on the official firmware (ROM stock Samsung XXLH3 (CSC OXALH4, Modem XXLH2) (Gingerbread)) that should work in Spain.

Sorry, but all ROMs are based on 2.3.6 for this phone :( ; they are only themed to look like ICS. You can check the kernel version with some third party app and you will see that 4.1 is just a modified value in the "about" setting and not a real port.

Performance is really limited ; I don't think 3D graphic will be well handled. But the most annoying thing is the tight memory space it is eqquipped. An SD card is mandatory, especially if you want to play.

Hi Nyco,

Thanks so much for your quick response. I have flashed the ROM you mentioned and the version was reverted to the original and indeed now I can turn on/off roaming data, so the problem is solved. I preferred the Jelly Bean, but I undersand that because the stuff you did is not official it can have some misconfigurations.

But good work Nyco I hope you carry on projects like this :)

Bro After Flashing Rom My phone is not picking sim and showing "No Service" or "emergencey calls only"

    After downloading and unzipping, you should have seven files :

    Stock ROM :
    • Modem.tar
    • PDA.tar
    • CSC.tar

    Cutom kernel :
    • Samsung-B5510-Kernel.tar

    Utilities :
    • unlock.zip to unlock your phone if you want
    • CWM.zip to flash the ROM

    And the custom ROM :
    • JellyProV1.3.zip



    SETUP :

    Preliminary : have ODIN (last version recommended), put unlock.zip , CWM.zip and JellyProV1.3.zip on your memory card, not in any folder

    Step 1 : Connect your phone in download mode (power + home + vol down) and flash stock ROM with odin.
    Get back another time to download mode, and flash the custom kernel.

    Step 2 : Reboot your phone recovery mode (power + home + vol up) and select "wipe data (factory reset)", and confirm
    Warning : this wil ERASE ALL your data
    (you can just make a "wipe cache", but I don't advise that)

    Then select "Apply update from sdcard", and select CWM.zip
    You enter in the ClockWorkRecoveryMod
    Select => "mount and storage", => "format /system", confirm

    IMPORTANT : do NOT forget, then, to select "mount /system" and "mount /data", unless ROM won't install correctly (after that, they both say "unmount/system" and "unmount/data")

    The hit return button and chose in the menu : "install zip from sdcard", then "choose zip from sdcard". Select JellyProV1.3.zip.
    Be patient...

    Reboot.



    Recommendations :
    Don't try to update, it's useless because the apk has been removed

    TIP :
    If your sim card doesn't work (and if you want to set your keyboard as qwerty and not azerty), try changing the CSC : type *#06# to get your IMEI number, and then type *#272*<your IMEI># ; select your own CSC code (for me XEF for example) but this will ERASE ALL YOUR DATA !!!

    Observation :
    • This ROM is very close to the JellyBlast one I made a few month ago. That's intentional : I re-coded myself all the functionalities I wanted from the stock ROM. There is no code from creed anymore (you can check ;)), only mine and these from the credits.
    • If you spot a bug, or/and you know hows to solve it (especially theming ones), PM me :)

    UPDATES :​


    All Over The Air (OTA) updates must be flashed in CWM, after doing a "clean cache" (if not, a bootloop can occur) ; obviously, do not format /system... All previous updates must be flashed before applying the latest update (for example, you have to be in OTA1.3 in order to flash 2.1).


    OTA 1.3 :
    Excuse me for the names, but the OTA 1.3 is not included in JellyPro1.3. It only means I made 3 major changes in the original ROM, and 3 major changes in the first OTA.
