No, I mean the field where I can adjust the max frequency, not that the frequency is changing due to load.

I knew what you meant. It isn't a bug, that's mpdecision doing it's crap.

Booted test4 some minutes ago and volume down button seems not to work

None of the versions he has made have any effect on your hardware buttons.

I flashed test8 with Flashify and got 3 random reboots so far.
First 2 reboots without UV and the 3rd with -50mV.
Here is the last_kmsg after the 3rd reboot.

Edit 1: Just had a 4th reboot.
Edit 2: I flashed factory kernel and re-flashed test8 in bootloader via fastboot

Just looked at your kmsg. Your reboots aren't kernel related. Instead of flashify, use fastboot.

So Idk if this is just a coincidence or something but since flashing test8, I don't get some notifications on Hangouts and I'm on Wi-Fi. Kind of reminds if the delayed notifications in 4.2 and up

Haha I'm so lazy to get out of bed that I just flashed it with Flashify haha damn in the morning I'll make sure I flash stock then reflash using Fastboot :D

Should have finished reading until the end because I see someone mentioned having problems flashing v8 with Flashfy :( hopefully it doesn't harm my phone over night :(

I've to say, I'm really happy to see that there is only a .img and not a flashable zip...
Things got really to easy and every one can root his phone now.
And then those "I bricked a Nexus device" threads are starting...

Btw the new test8 performs really well on my N5. No issue so far :)

I honestly don't think those reboots are related to using Flashify myself. Fastboot is probably "better" (for some definition of better) but I don't see how using Flashify would cause reboots. Either the kernel can boot from the partition or it can't. There isn't really too much middle ground.

* Merged a couple Wi-Fi driver patches from Google's common repo, one of them is made specially to decrease the rx wakelock (read the commit message: https://github.com/franciscofranco/hammerhead/commit/5dd724eb19f768e641041a0b897c5e8464077949)

Power consumption should be considerably lower during screen off + Wi-Fi enabled & connected.
Really glad to see this after the issues I noticed previously with the wlan_rx_wake wakelock! I've flashed number 8 and I'll keep an eye on what the battery consumption is like with the same usage as previously.

If it isn't the app, what do you think is causing it? I've been on it for quite a while now without issue. Had to flash it a couple of times because I've been playing around with a couple ROMs. Used fastboot every time, and have had zero issues.

The one person that grabbed a log wasn't getting their reboot from the kernel.

I just wanted to quote this for the truth. I really dig the Nexus 5-topic of Franco at this moment, after all the bullsh*t in the Nexus 4-topic it's refreshing.

wifi drivers in boot8 look really great, thanks!

flashify works just fine for me, flashed 5 builds with it

i don´t think fastboot is better or worse

... just my 2 cents

If you don't know how to flash a kernel then IMO you shouldn't be using custom kernels

Are you referring to me?
FYI i've been flashing roms and kernels since HTC Desire HD back in 2010.
Please think twice before insulting others, especially senior members that joined long before you did and participate more than you in the forum.

    Hi all.

    Compatibility:
It should work on any rom by following this logic:
Builds (starting with r65) are Android 5.0 Lollipop only.
Builds (starting with r72) are Android 5.1 Lollipop only.
Builds (starting with r76) are Android 6.0 Marshmallow only.
Builds (starting with r97) are also compatible with Android 7.0 Nougat and Android 7.1 Nougat .
Builds (starting with r114) are also compatible with Android 8.1.0 Oreo.

This does not work with "CAF" roms.

    Download:
    https://francokernel.app

    Installation:
Flash the zip in your recovery
    or
Auto-flash from Franco Kernel Updater app

    Features:
    1 - Legendary battery life
    2 - Flash & forget
3 - Typical interfaces like display adjustments, sound control, vibration control, and all that boring stuff
4 - Idle power consumption reduced to the absolute minimum (if you have wakelocks from 3rd party apps you're obviously on your own)
    5 - Support for FKUpdater's Performance Profiles
6 - Magical support, I'm here every day, checking posts almost hourly, ready to help anytime (well, unless you fail to read the OP, which contains most info you need)
7 - Seemless integration with my app FKUpdater
8 - No crap placebo patches, or "magical" optimizations
9 - Probably more, check my github for all the details - the code speaks for itself

Kernel Manager for Franco Kernel demo

    Disclaimer to moderators:
Slight OT is fine, but when users decide to act stupid they should be dealt with with the appropriate means - its really annoying for me when OT turns crazy. Please put the warning/ban hammer anytime any of you think there's lack of respect and/or too much unwanted OT crap - but if it doesn't meet this criteria let the OT posts alone. Thank you.

    Cheers!

r33 is pushed! Thanks for all the tests during this last 5-6 weeks. Before you ask yes this build is newer than the last r33-test. Most of you that followed the changes know basically what changed, so this is a generic changelog:

    * FK does not work with CM or derivates anymore so don't flash if you're in one of those roms. Also make sure you're not undervolting too much, this new build might be a little extra nervous regarding low voltages
    * This is a huge release with more than 1 month of consecutive testing. It contains probably more than 250 new commits which include a lot of patches from Codeaurora with fixes, performance improvements and battery improvements. Subsystems like cpufreq, audio, video, display, thermal, power management etc have been improved. For a complete list of changes please visit my github repository
    * My hotplug driver has been improved as in having a complete new set of tunables for advanced users. Visit my repository for the documentation of each tunable

    Enjoy!

I'd like to wish you all a Merry Christmas, lots of food, kisses, hugs, and quality time.

From my part thanks a lot for the great 2 months since the N5 was released, that, for me, is a great gift, thank you all.

    Pushed r37 with exciting features:

    * Misc patches with small fixes
    * Remove duplicated GPU frequencies
    * Add minimum backlight tunable /sys/module/parameters/lm3630_bl/min_brightness
    * Add RGB display calibration /sys/devices/platform/kcal_ctrl.0/kcal
    * Merged some memory routine optimizations from Motorola

    Cool stuff :)
