the towel root app is just in the Hydrogen Peroxide/files folder (tr.apk)
copy to sd card, use rom's file manager to install

Did the kernel version change?

I suspect that you're virus protection, removed it.Yes, it changed to the Fri May 2 Kernel from the Jul 29 one. Do I need to flash the Towelroot app, or just download it right from the page on my phone? Like use my phone to download it?
Edit: Just read second reply, the tr.apk isn't in my Hydrogen Peroxide. It also didn't show up in the install root bat file when I was doing that, but I thought it was acting funny. So at the end here when I couldn't find Towelroot in my apps, I went through my HO4 files, no tr.apk is in there. Dunno why. But yeah, if I can just use a flash drive and OTG cable I have lying around to put it on my phone, and it'll work, that sounds amazing.
Make sure you flash the recovery.img or stock recovery will not work.I think it worked!!!!! I downloaded the H202 and RAR right on the phone, unpacked it, used Towelroot, did the necessary rebooting, and downloaded Root Checker to check if it worked, and it said it did!!! Thanks for the help, I really appreciate it! And it was my computer's antivirus eating the tr.apk, I don't know why, but it did right after unpacking the H2O2. Putting it right on the phone just to get the tr.apk worked great though, so no problems after that.
Thanks again!
factory reset and/or reflash firmware with RSD Lite.I have made it up to the towelroot stage, which when I press make it rain, it says phone unsupported. What should I do? Also, when it is unistalling org.keenteam, cmd says Failure. My kernel date remains at Jul 29. Hmm.

rsd flashes stock roms onlyDoes this flash a rom? Also does it wipe data? After flashing this with RSD, I could achieve root as long as I don't take an OTA? Correct?
rsd flashes stock roms only
data is wiped if firmware file has CFC in name
root tool should work after flashing firmware
root will lost if an update is installed, although it's unlikely there will be any more.

Sometimes wiping is needed to root.So it would make sense not to flash CFC. I only plan on pursuing this if I can later install Lollipop.

Is there any benefit to using the CFC over the non CFC.Sometimes wiping is needed to root.
Bootloader cannot be unlocked.
Custom roms cannot be installed on the xt926 with a locked Bootloader.

Yes, it's a cleaner install.
If kernel is after June 4 2014Hi sd_shadow,
I am a late comer...mind to enlighten me a noob question? Upon obtained the root access, is there anyway to downgrade to the Android Version 4.1.2 Firmware VRZ_XT926_4.1.2_9.8.1Q-94-1_CFC.xml.zip by using RSD? The reason I am looking at the 4.1.2 version is because the OS come with the webtop-3.0.0...
Thank you in advance!

Reflash the firmware with RSD LiteI am on 183.46.15 w/Kernel June 29, 2014.
Every time when I run Hydrogen Peroxide (Usb Debugging Enabled,Mock Locations Allowed and Airplane Mode Enabled) It gives an error Failed on first and I close it and Restart and then gives one Fail (Towel Root already installed) and process goes on.First it reboots and then reboots to boot-loader and on third reboot it stuck at "No Command" error but I ignore and wait for 5-6 min till it reboots automatically and then it says to run towel root but on towel root its says "Device is Currently not supported" but I carry on ,Phone reboots and on cmd it says "your device is now rooted"
Please help me to root My Droid Xt926.
I Will be thankful to you..
