Over the phone? Or can they do this in a store? I'm trying to update my wife's, but obviously uninstalled files and so can't. And no bootloader unlock either, so stuck.
Anyone have a direct link to the safestrap recovery?

Worked perfectly.
Just to confirm. This method worked flawlessly on a RAZR M, and Droid 4. Had to do a reset on the RAZR M to get it to take, but after that no problems. thanks to kc6wke for the work and aviwdoowks for the post.

Still No Unlocked Bootloader

Have done a ton of research and this is this the most relevant post I've found. Just to confirm, we still have no method to unlock the bootloader if my phone is on 98.18.94 correct? I've tries the motopocalypse method a view times with no success (still shows locked: 0 in recovery). Can anyone confirm?
If so, I need to grab some killer root apps to help get some semblance of my former ROM...

Yeah, latest ota = locked but fear not we're about to receive official kitkat! As for root apps, I'm not sure. Xposed framework seems to be a community favorite in XDA

Thank you for the new way to root! I've had this phone sitting around for a while and when it updated I lost root. Now I have access again. THese are great phones glad to see others agree with me.

Normal boot mode. make sure you have access to your phone in adb Follow the steps in the OP. Some are saying to install the samsung driver also, But I just had the Moto drivers, ran the install.bat and followed the prompts. worked perfect.
All 3 msm8960 phones [xt907, xt925/6 & mb866] have always used the same low level exploits this one is no different. Works on one, works on all.

I'm going to be posting directions this weekend that will allow this to work on a number of devices without using adb.22Well it's not the easiest to say port a rom without kexec. Kexec is basically a kernel that was developed for the omap processors on the the older droid 3/4/razr so it could run newer versions of android. Kexec being the kernel that runs on top of the system kernel. However, Hashcode had tried to make the kexec kernel compatible with the snapdragon processors our phones have. http://blog.hash-of-codes.com/2013/01/23/razr-hd-razr-m-atrix-hd-status/ His problem is the kernel. As he states in the thread "Turns out the newer 3.0.31 kernel has new security features which are fixed some of the holes that were used to setup the kexec syscalls as was done on the OMAP phones.". If there isn't a kexec available for our kernel then I'm not sure how we can get cm11 on our phone using safestrap.21PM or ask kc6wke!
