Has anybody tried downgrading 0.83.001 with this method yet?

My branded o2 Desire has this on it and there's not much I can do with it without downgrading to 0.80 I think.

if you are on 0.83 update the official FroYo OTA so you have 0.92 and then downgrade to 0.80.

i can't confirm that it's possible with 0.83 :(

i get the same error with the communication.

I downgraded.
Uninstalled htc COMPLETLY
installed the unrevoked android usb driver
rebooted
turned usb debugging on started unrevoked in admin mode
and it still fails.

before i upgraded to 0.92 i used this method 1 milion times and it always worked.

i think i had a similar problem while rerooting / custom recovery.
Try to downgrade again and remove all update.zip files from your SD card before.

Hi, I've downgraded to .80 the I used unrevoke to root the tel. Now I'm in 2.1 update1 rooted.
But now I dont manage to flash LeeDroid ROM.... (signature error) and I tried with 2 new goldcard...nothing to do. I'm stuck with the 2.1 OS :-(

If using clockwork recovery, there is an option somewhere to turn off signature verification.

I have a zip rom file and the PB99 file is that the only things i need in the sd?

To use unrevoke you need nothing on you SD card because the files are going to be pushed through the unrevoke program.

if you are talking about the downgrading you only need the PB99IMG.zip on your SD.

For unrooting after custom recovery with unrevoke you need a custom ROM zip file which you can apply.

I did it!
My actions:
1) Install HTC Sync with drivers
2) Reflash PB99IMG.zip
3) Made gold card
4) Uninstall HTC Sync with HTC Drivers
5) Connected Desire and install Android drivers
6) Used unrevoke
7) ... Success!

Awesome news is awesome :D

One doubt

Code:
4. Enable USB debugging on your phone.
5. Start unrevoke and follow the instructions
6. if unrevoke is completed you should be in custom recovery.

what state should your phone be when you start unrevoke?

    Known Problems
If you have problems while re-rooting or custom recovery (unrevoke) try to downgrade again with the above procedure.
Make sure you have made a new goldcard.
If you have problems e.g. 140 ERROR please follow these instructions (thx to raz2133)
This will fix your MISC Partition so you can flash back original RUU files.

    Happy re-rooting ;)

P.S. i hope you can understand this because english is not my foreign language

For everyone how was in bad luck and updated to the original OTA FroYo here is a way how you can revert it.

The User maximini1 has found a thread where they describe how you can downgrade to 0.80 again.

So i try to explain how you have to do it.

    Preparation
    1. Make a NEW Goldcard (here)
    2. Download PB99IMG.zip (here - MIRROR - germany MIRROR2)
    3. Rename the downloaded file to "PB99IMG.zip" and copy it onto your SD Card.

    Flashing
    1. Shutdown yor mobile
    2. Hold Volume up and press power
    3. wait until PB99IMG.zip was found and checked
    4. Press Volume Up <yes> - PICTURE 1
    5. Wait until all steps are done. DON't POWER OFF YOUR DEVICE!!! - PICTURE 2
    6. After flashing press Volume Up to reboot
    7. done

    Happy re-rooting ;)

The Download links are now dead (understandable after this amount of time) and I need to downgrade my Desire from the Official 2.3.3 update so that I can root my phone. Where can I go from here to downgrade?

You could just use revolutionary to S-off?

Isn't it compatible with the "new" 1.02.0001 hboot|?
