Actualy the github 88.2 - test xxx version I posted a link to, was modified by rovo89 himself. Test 4 version works fine on sdk 24, and for some deodexed sdk 25 roms.
The github discution was started by rovo himself in order to help / fix xposed for MIUI 9.
The 88.2-test 4 arm 64 sdk 24 and sdk 25 versions are as official as they can be, since were modified/released by rovo89 to work for miui 9. test 4 sdk 24 It works flawlessly on my mi5 and for lots of other sdk 24 users.
Now he tries to fix the stuck on boot issue for some mi6 and mix 2 users. Although others reported back no problems on deodexed mi 6 (sdk 25) roms.

I am using MIUI Brasil ROM 7.10.13 based on 7.0
The 88.2 test installed properly, it shows xposed active, but neither xMIUI nor Greenify detect the modules to be active. In spite of the modules being shown as active and reboot done, being repeatedly asked to reactivate the modules, reboot and try again.
Btw, am using Magisk for root. Does it have a bearing? Should I try with SuperSU?

Xposed framework based on PurifyOS only work on rom xiaomi eu. On official rom miui 9 need to be deodex. I hope solarwarez port the framework based on rovo89 and not taking from PurifyOS with many crash in the first place

On previous version eu rom xposed was working fine but in 7.10.26 my applications are crashing. Xposed is active and random applications crashing.

Same thing for me. Apparently all seems OK, but modules are not being activated after reboot. I'm on Global Developer 7.11.7 for Redmi Note 4X. Have you found a solution?
Yes.. Went back to MM. And now onto a CM based 7. 1 rom!
On a serious note, none of the versions I've used work.
I've accidentally found a working solution.
First I flashed xposed-v88.2-sdk24-arm64.zip, then XposedInstaller_by_dvdandroid_04_08_17.apk and had the same issue as you - all seems to be OK, but no module could be activated.
Then I have flashed xposed-v88.2-sdk24-topjohnwu.zip which is Systemless module. No changes though.
Then I decided to uninstall xposed, so I have flashed xposed-uninstaller-20160829-arm64.zip.
The xposed status was changed to Systemless, as on screenshot and now modules got activated and working.

Ok guys, here is the only way how I made Xposed work on Xiaomi Redmi Note 4X with MIUI 9 (deodexed) and Android 7.0:
1. download and install through TWRP http://www.mediafire.com/file/3c750ha4xqu8s54/xposed-v88.2-sdk24-arm64-test4.zip + clean wipe dalvik cache + reboot
2. install Xposed Installer from here https://xdaforums.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=4319220&d=1509453299

My phone is Redmi Note 4 SD with MIUI 9.2 global stable v 9.2.1
