I updated the link. Its because I changed the name. FM radio from aurora crashes phone. I'll probably mod the radio.

Thanks. I didn't want to start doing anything without first downloading all files involved.
It is always very important to assemble your ingredients before you start mixing the batter, just in case you are missing the eggs.
That way you don't have to throw away the bowl from a failed attempt.

EDIT:

I made a new thread HERE. I didn't mean to hijack your thread.

Sooo. To break it down:

You need to reboot after flashing stock GB.

Flashing Stock GB is the steps in the 1st code box?

Install updated gb , reboot.

Updated GB is the 2nd code box?

Install Aurora, reboot.

This is the 3rd...?

Installed aurora update. Enjoy.

This is the 3rd too?

If so, I will trim it all down into a single post from Stock to ICS...

I have everything working aside from the backlight in the keys, which seems to be normal with this ROM. Wifi and 3G/4G working.

Ask hitaxas
Adjusting the brightness fixes the backlight. Try using rootdim. Keyboard ffa backlight to "on" instead of "system default"

I am wondering what these apps are, what they are for, and will I screw up my phone if I remove them using titanium backup.
I can always back up my phone using cwm first, but it would be best if I can save a step.
Screenshots to follow once I can upload them.
It's the ones in Chinese.

So far so good. Just modified my build.prop to say U8800-51 instead of U8800Pro. I'll leave the apps for the update. No reason to tempt fate, huh?

Also I installed that browser.apk and it works once than keeps crashing, so I'm installing this one from market to see.

Welcome to the club.

Can't seem to figure out where the clock gets its source from. Let's try to decompile apks. Mainly the system UI

By the way, there is this white screen cache bug that makes your browser not display anything. Clearing cache and force closing fixes it temporarily

This is a modified Aurora ICS Final Build.

If installing from froyo, follow this Guide

Modified Gingerbread must be installed first!
    Install at your own risk!
    Instructions:
    0. Make a disk img recovery
    1. Download this. This
    1a. Download GAAPS
1b. Download updated zip (Flash over)
    2. Wipe Data/battery stats
    3. Install it via cwm 6.0.1.0 recovery[/URL] (Install it via pinkscreen or root explorer.)
3a. Install untrusted zip since i don't know how to sign.
    4.Reboot system.
Note: It may take MANY attempts for it to start, it will constantly reboot. If it takes more than 1/2 hour, than you must restore the disk img recovery.

To enable mass storage install u8800 Aurora drivers and do not toggle mtp. If toggled you need factory reset.

Edit: Tested by me. Must install another keyboard since system keyboard does not exist in 1st download
Usb only recognized in recovery, seeking adb fix. Only appears to be compataible with USB MASS storage, No mtp support.
In order for soft keys to work you must select auto brightness to keep it
It begins in Spanish but you need to select language and restart on first download.
If there is no music recognized, navigate to the sd and delete ".nomedia"
No radio, try spirit fm from xda

    Enjoy!

    You have been warned.
    Stable for daily use.

You can change the function of that button by going to system/usr/keylayout and editing the generic.kl file. It's button 217 I think. It will say POWER. I changed mine to SEARCH, and it opens Google search for me instead of shutting the screen off.

Make sure to reset the phone after editing if you do it through something like root explorer.

Thanks very much, I really appreciate your help. This is very different then my HTC Sensation and the forum has been very confusing. I will flash Aurora and Aurora update and see where it takes me. I can always go back to GB.
