CyanogenMod 10.1 For the Motorola Xoom
(Wingray, Stingray, & Everest)

Code:
 * Your warranty is now void.
 *
 * We are not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards,
 * thermonuclear war, or you getting fired because the alarm app failed. Please
 * do some research if you have any concerns about features included in this ROM
 * before flashing it! YOU are choosing to make these modifications, and if
 * you point the finger at any of us for messing up your device, we will laugh at you.
 * Collectively, and at the same time.

CyanogenMod is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. Linked below is a package that has come from another Android project that restore the Google parts. CyanogenMod does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.

All the source code for CyanogenMod is available in the CyanogenMod Github repo. And if you would like to contribute to CyanogenMod, please visit out Gerrit Code Review. You can also view the Changelog for a full list of changes & features.

Instructions:

First time flashing CyanogenMod 10.1 your device, or coming from another ROM?
  1. Root the device and install ClockworkMod Recovery. Instructions are available here.
  2. Perform a NANDroid backup of your current ROM.
  3. Wipe the data & cache partitions of your device.
  4. Flash CyanogenMod 10.1
  5. Install the Google Apps addon package.
Upgrading from earlier version of CyanogenMod 10.1?
  1. Perform a NANDroid backup of your current ROM.
  2. Flash CyanogenMod (your Google Apps will be backed up & restored automatically).

Issues?

Experience issues? Please provide the following info:
  • If the device was hard reboot, please provide the file "/proc/last_kmsg".
  • If the device was soft reboot or is "bootlooping", please run a logcat and provide the full output.
  • Please use Pastebin when possible.

Unified GApps For Android 4.2.x

General

Based on 20121212 Goo GApps and updated with apps from Manta JDQ39.
For all devices currently supported by CM10.1 (including non-NEON devices).

Key Changes

+Fix keyboard crashing on non-NEON devices*1
+Fix Google Now crashing on non-NEON devices*2
+Restore hot-word detection in Google Now for non-NEON devices*2
+Fix GTalk video chats crashing on non-NEON devices
+Check for low-system space, install in /data/gapps if there isn't enough space*3
+Remove AOSP Calendar.apk if Google Calendar is present*3
+Photosphere support is installed by default, create a file called ".nogooglegallery" on the SD card (legacy recovery) or internal storage (CWM6+ or TWRP2) to override

Important caveats

1: Gesture input is not working on non-NEON devices. The AOSP libjni_latinime.so (which is preserved during installation on non-NEON devices) does not support it.
2: The latest QuickSearchBox (with the Google Now widget) no longer works properly with non-NEON devices. The included QuickSearchBox for non-NEON devices will not update from the Play Store.
3: This means this installer will touch /data. The space check is currently hardcoded to 130MB. The installer will create symlinks to the files as appropriate.

Everyone needs to make sure to update their recoveries to the newest CWM or TWRP.

Been looking forward to 10.1 on XDA. Thank you for the Google+ thread. Been alternating between three Roms - Dreams, Eos and Rouge. All good. The developers rock. Thanks again.

I'm gonna troll for just a second here. Some of you fail to understand the nature of CyanogenMod. CyanogenMod is a stable after-market firmware designed to support a large array of devices. Steady and TDR are the official CyanogenMod maintainers for Xoom. Therefore you will not see any deviation from official cm framework. They are not some kang build. This is the official cm release. If a feature is not in official CyanogenMod, it will not be found here. If you enjoy official CyanogenMod this is the build for you.

We have been given the green light to distribute our own Gapps package which will be posted in the first or second post in the near future. It should solve the limited /system space as well as a few other issues the Xoom/Tegra 2 have. Good news is it should be universal, meaning it works on almost every device (phone and tab). Will drop an update in this thread once I post it up.

New Unified GApps are live. Should work on ANY device running CM10.1 (I use it on my Note 2 and Xoom)
