Hi there

I've been away from cm since changing my sgs2 for my nexus.

I've been using stock first, then aokp on it, but I feel like trying my old love xD

How's the status/completion on cm9?

I will flash it even if I get no info, but knowing beforehand if I have to look for something, it would be nice xD

i haven't used AOKP for a while, but its not as "feature-filled" but it has its features. Its much more streamlined as the CM team is aiming for something more reliable, stable, etc. also all the mods are being rewritten for ICS and not forward ported, so its takes a little more time for features to come out.

the essentials are there, clock, nav bar, lockscreen shortcuts, etc.

its stable, fast, good battery and i think you should just try it for yourself to figure out what you've missed (or not)

I ended up coming to my parents house for dinner after going with them to te cinema, so I'm downloading it on the phone xD

I might miss the weather on te notification drawer, but not other things, I guess.

Aokp stops transmitting sound over usb randomly, and I have to reboot my phone, I hate that.

i was on the same boat as you no CM since my last device which was a sensation, it was all AOKP since but i tried out paranoid android to play around with tablet mode then i noticed it was very smooth then i noticed it was CM based so i had to try it out and my nex says its feeling great :)

I tried CM too but I miss a lot of stuff ! If I want a stable and fast rom I would take rascream and trinity kernel..

For customizing AOKP...

CM9 is good rom, but not that rom where I want to stay. We are close to get Jelly Bean and then again porting everything new ?

I think the nightlies are pretty rock solid. I just switched from AOKP to cm9 and I'm impressed. Granted, I miss the status bar weather but cm9's even better lock screen weather is inbound. Plus, with ROM manager I can download and flash every nightly on my device without worrying about complete wipes and all my settings stay the same. Super convenient compared to full triple wipes manually. I'm going to refrain from data wipes for as many flashes as I can with the nightlies as a personal experiment. My guess is it'll be fine for probably a couple weeks worth of flashes before issues pop up.

Thats right ! I prefer the notification toggles in AOKP looks better but the CM9 looks really "professional in what they release !

The translations are perfect, but the CM Kernel isnt mine, gets really warm.

If CM9 would have the ability to center the clock, weather in in the bar and the chance to change the lockscreen Wallpaper I would stuck on it.

Sounds maybe stupid but I like those gimmicks

color multiplier

is there a problem with color multiplier? default value must be 0.4666666670. but cm9 sets 1.0000000000. is it not dangerous for screen?

Probably only harmful in that it *might* shorten your display's lifespan. I've set mine to 0.47, btw.... it's more than bright enough.

Guys, is there any way to disable or limit the number of frequently called entries on contacts list?

I have 26 contacts on this list and sometimes I'm looking for someone alphabetically and then I realize they are up on this list. :-\

This thread is reserve for nightly build of Cyanogen Mod Rom for Galaxy Nexus
You can report and discuss all issue you are having with nightly build here.

Warning: Not for new user, flash this build only if you know what you are doing !!!

There are no Google Apps bundled with CM ROMs, because Google asked Cyanogen to remove copyrighted apps from his roms,
after flashing rom don't forget to flash Google Addon package if you want it.

    Download: http://goo.gl/cYeZK
MD5Sum: check the md5 under the files named associate with your build version before flashing it

Repositories for all AOSP projects have been created on our github to alleviate any potential mismatches (branch is 'jellybean').

While Jelly Bean won't require a major rewrite of all the CM features, the source has been re-arranged and re-factored enough that a simple merge isn't possible. So we will proceed with manual merging (this was to be expected really).

The plan of attack will be to cherry-pick everything from CM9 and fix the merge conflicts and relocations. It’s tedious but the only way. Ideally the original patch authors will forward-port their changes, so if you are out there and want to help out, join us in #cyanogenmod -dev.

+ Trebuchet might be messy to rebase onto JB.
+ Theme Engine will be messy.
+ SystemUI stuff will need to be restyled.
+ Lockscreen stuff will need to be restyled.
+ The current UX of Settings is good, no reason to change anything there.

A manifest (Cyanogenmod/android.git) will be going up later this afternoon, so the masses will be able to sync directly from our source at that point as well.

This will be it on the updates (so we can focus on actually working). Next post referencing JB should be when the merge/cherry-pick process is complete.

Why are some people coming in here like "why cm doesnt do it like aokp"?

Why do you think??? Because it ISN'T aokp.
I'm getting pretty bored about everyday i come in here, and mostly every post i read says "i have data drops with nightly X" "i have wifi drops on nightly X" "when cm releases a stable rc" "milestone"
Do you know what nightlies mean??? There are no bug reports, so all those complains will only be heard, basically when, you are running a RC and you get a logcat or kmsg to backup your claims. Otherwise, it's just user error.
So stop cluttering the damn thread and asking if this is good enough to be a daily driver. If you have to ask, then its not for you.
Go back to stock or aokp. Return your phone, you are holding it wrong. Buy a dumb phone.

It would be great if you guys who have changed to a 3rd party kernel would quit posting in this thread. Thanks
