Hey folks. . .

I need help in Rooting a smartphone. ... its from Videocon

Info :
Model Name - Videocon A15 (duos)
Android version - 2.3.6 gingerbread
Cpu - 1.2Ghz dual core
Gpu - PowerVR SGX531

can some1 tell me any safe way to root this device ...
and is there any way to install CWM recovery or something similar ?

amm last questions can I install Any Custom Rom and kernel in this device ?

Try Eroot Tool after downloading/installing Videocon A15 drivers from Videocon Mobiles Website.

Thanks i was able to root the phone and was able to reverse tether too

I will just mention the steps i followed for rooting to help other guys

1. download and install eroot from google
2. install ur phone drivers and plug ur device using usb (with usb debugging enabled)
3. open eroot and click root
4. "superuser" app will appear on ur phone
5. ur phone is now rooted. to confirm that install apps which require root privelege.

so thats it its that simple

No news about custom ROMs for Videocon A15 yet. Better to take backup of the existing ROM(Stock) before we start to play with it :fingers-crossed:

Hmm...actually, I'm new here and I don't have an option to add any link/URL here till I'm done posting replies/topics. However, you can find the drivers for your tablet in Videocon Mobiles website itself. I found it already. So, you do too :good:

Need a stock rom backup

Someone please upload a backup of stock rom, I have removed google play store and google play services. Now my phone is faster and has longer battery life now. But I need stock rom backup.

i had removed the stock launcher app from internal memory and today i did a factory reset and my phone is not booting. just the video con logo. i managed to get into recovery mode. what do i do now?

Hello Guys,

I am also using this Low end Videocon A15 device... It has MT6575 SoC... I have already rooted my phone and developed and installed custom cwm recovery in my phone... Now i am cooking the first custom rom for my device.... (i have middle level experience in android development for mt6577 based phone)

there is no point in continuing thread in xda for such low end device... generally we don't get proper support for that from the devs....

so i am starting a restricted group for Videocon A15.... link is
