I am going to try it regardless, but how does it compare to LEE?

LEE is a beast. This is the bomb! Been running it for two days steady as can be. I wouldn't say it if it weren't so. Quick like ninja. That's not ICS you are looking at, that's 1.3d gb!

You're the man. 2 questions... Which ICS theme is that, and what governor do you run with the mason kernel?

Intellidemand governor, deadline io scheduler

I use the ics theme by kovdev and the ics theme chooser by Sonny Sekhon along with the Nexus ICS clock widget and fancy widgets weather 4x1 style 1/7 with the honeycomb blue clock skin and miui weather skin. I then changed the widget text color hex code to #36B0CA. Finally, I use the TEAM battery bar to top it off. Everything is free in the market.

Thanks for the info rope! I was following that kernel, but I seriously thought it was for ICS ROMs. Grabbing and flashing now...thanks again bro.

Oh yeah...same settings for CoD tweaks?

@rope

Damn...this kernel has a boat load of govs! The one gov I have been waiting to test is lulzactive. After reading a very good post on everything kernel here, now I can. Are you going to test out any other govs? I'll provide feedback as I get it in a few days.

Thanks for that link you just posted. I will read it in full. Tried lulzactive and the lionheart so far. Stuck loving the intellidemand for the moment.

that's the funny thing, it IS an ICS kernel. Well now it's a gb kernel too. Those guys can't have all the fun.

Bout to give this mason kernel a go. I read that it is only for ICS but has been working on GB roms as well. Well we got the booting good , and not at home screen. I trust your judgement ropodope so we will see how this works. Have a great weekend.

    Hey all. Been a while since my last release of s3vo for the evo which was sense based, but I really wanted to start learning android and have a better perspective of it. I decided to dig a bit more into compiling android. Started horsing around with github and learned to start compiling my own builds from aosp wih the help from cmsrc, evervolv, and a few others githubs. Since the release of gingerbread to aosp, i moved away from sense. There are things that i do miss about sense, but the usability of the phone without it is just unmatched imho. Many people use or have used cyanogenmod. IMHO is a great open source project that has some of the best devs out there. I have always been more into the 'vanilla' look opposed to the themed and aftermarket. Recently i have been compiling gingerbread for the evo and mt4g and have had nothing but the best reviews. Basically the reason why i am here. Wondering if there was any interest in a few of my builds. Main reason from moving away from CM6/7 (cyanogenmod), ADW launcher and the extra added bloat and themes. Currently as i look at my phone, my battery stats have me at 31 hours and counting with 15% left. So battery life as you can tell was one of my main concerns. Everything works!!!

    There is *nothing* that doesnt work anymore on 1.0. If an app that you are used to using from a 2.2/sense rom doesnt work, chances are that app hasnt been recompiled for gingerbread. Please bug the app author and not me :D

    New GPS drivers! A real GPS Fix!! :)

    NEW BETTER DRIVERS HERE. FOR BEST RESULTS FLASH THE "Qualcomm Vision GPS Driver v1.1" INSTEAD. THIS POST HAS BEEN LEFT HERE FOR REFERENCE PURPOSES

    ------------------------------------
    I've been playing around a bit with the GPS drivers... Anyone willing to try these drivers instead and report back if they work any better, especially if you are having GPS issues (locking, losing signal, etc)? They seem to be working very well for me, with no high cpu issues as well.

    What should be different from the standard drivers:
    * No need for workarounds for the majority of people (sense flash, etc...)
    * Stable and fast locks
    * Pick up more satellites
    * No wake locks / CPU usage issues

    These are files that you can flash through recovery:

    GPS_Supersonic_FIX_Flash - these are the fixed drivers, flash them through recovery (RA recovery only)
    GPS_Supersonic_Restore_Flash - these are the original drivers that come with CyanogenMod roms in case you want to revert back (RA recovery only)

    If you don't use RA recovery, flash the GPS_Supersonic_FIX_Flash2 file instead (compatible will all recoveries, uses an edify script)

    NOTE: Drivers are now part of Deck's 1.2 stable, but NOT 1.2.1. For 1.2.1 and all the other roms (like CM7 nightlies) the fix will need to be re-flashed every time the rom is updated.

    NOTE 2: No, there is no source code. This is a modified driver from the gingerbread leak for the HTC Vision.
