bootmenu_v0.8.6.update_forA953.zip is already included with a custom recovery which is cwm3.

i installed bootmenu before flashing fixedsbf.

Ok. Nandroid backup restore will overwrite this bootmenu.

Could you maybe write a working step by step guide for flashing this rom coming from froyo?

Last flash should bootmenu for A953.zip to overwrite defy bootmenu.

I did not own a MS2.

I get the same after installing the update patch. Since it booted fine without the patch, probably something in /system/lib/hw is causing the reboots.

only installing cwm2 patch is success for me, but it will cause reboot.

cannot install cwm3 patch no matter using which version of recovery

going back to my rooted GB backup, and may be try again tmr:)

Help!!

Some notes from me.

In the mid of restoring i get a /data restoring error and got ended at that point.
I tried to reboot, the M logo appeared for a second and disappeared.

My solution was: So i restored to original HK 2.2.2 service(again, haiz) version > install Droid 2 Bootstrap > install Rom manager > superoneclick(root) > reboot > enable Bootstrap > reboot recovery > install bootmenu_v0.8.6.update_forA953.zip > restore > ms2gingerRC1 > Flash the fixed_sbf_newleak.sbf and it worked!

Hi Psperm,
I toke your steps, but I can´t pass more than " install bootmenu_v0.8.6.update_forA953.zip > restore > ms2gingerRC1" right there I get this text: "checking MD5 sums... MD5 mismatch!"
And that's all.. :(

CAn you tell me why this happen?? And just in case.. What FROYO ROM do you use first?

Thanks!!!

Hello,

I'm sorry I don't understand how to fix the sensors and camera.

I tried to apply the .zip but i got an error message. If i try the "..forcwm3.zip" i get a different Error Message but I still can't install it.

2.3.4 is running, only the sensor patch is the problem.

I installed 2.3.4 like in your first post mentioned.

Thanks in Advance for help.

My bootmenue says Defy (ive got the MS2)
Should I install the A953 Bootmenu and try again? Sorry, i'm not that familiar with bootmenue, recovery etc.

Could someone test this: View attachment 697229

CMW3 patch:

Fixed Compass, light, sensor, camera fliped

After more testing, it seems the problem is caused by the gps libraries, since they're the only two that changed from beta5 patch. If I use these 2 (from original Milestone2patchforMS2Ginger.zip) instead of the new ones, everything works fine.

Also, I can confirm "ro.camera.key.blocked = false" works fine for me, and camera key works normally again.

    After some mods I could get Defy's boot menu to work on Milestone2. Will test it further before trying CM7 + Boot menu.

    Great news

    Great News ppl!

    I was able to flash my own update.zip into this damned Milestone2 phone. It looks like the /system protection is only engaged when you format /system partition or when you delete recursively the bare /system directory. But it is possible to remove the contents of every single /system sub-directory without being punished by the M logo lockdown. It's very simple indeed and the idea come from the updater-script of Droid2 Fission ROM.

    To achieve this result you should remove the following lines of updater-script:
    - any format command issued to /system
    - delete_recursive("/system");

    And replace for this lines:
    delete_recursive("/system/app/");
    delete_recursive("/system/etc/");
    delete_recursive("/system/fonts/");
    delete_recursive("/system/framework/");
    delete_recursive("/system/lib/");
    delete_recursive("/system/media/");
    delete_recursive("/system/tts/");
    delete_recursive("/system/usr/");
    delete_recursive("/system/xbin/");

    Also my custom update.zip where able to start ADB while the phone is still booting.

    Very nice :)

    I had exactly the same problem as yours while flashing roms a while ago

    you won' t fix it with the baseband switching app that comes for instance with milestone 2 toolbox (it did not work for me)

    you have to follow the full procedure described here

    http://xdaforums.com/showthread.php?t=1182050

    this should certainly work

    From that chinese forum gfan, I used google translate to find the rom heh and suffered a beyond slow download rate on u.115.com, I'm finishing uploading it to a eastern server.

    The original file is located at u.115.com/file/bh5durqs#
    click on the button I circled red to download it
