This is the Background Mod that changes the background image for most settings and menu options. This is pulled from my original mod The Missing Link. This is compatible with both AOSP and TW ROMS. Simply flash from recovery and choose your background, pull down image or both.

NOTE. Pull-down option is only for Tw roms

Download v1 here

v1.
*includes Pulldown and Background mods
*updated installer binary for the S3

Installed on my SGS3 running SlimKat with leankernel. Did nothing.

Looking forward to the full version of Missing Link for the SGS3, though.

Interesting... I appreciate the feedback. Since I don't actually have this device testing and feedback from users is the only way to keep development moving forward. I think I know the problem here. I will post a new fixed version right away. I also have a tester version of Missing Link S3 edition with some fixes I have received from some feedback. I will post that soon too if I can get some testers? Again thank you for the feedback

v1 Backgrounds and Pulldown theme mod

I posted a new version that now includes Pulldown options. They are basically the same images as the Backgrounds, just flipped to show mostly the bottom portion. If things don't look right or work properly let me know and I will make necessary adjustments.

NOTE: the pulldowns are for Touch Wiz only. Backgrounds should work for everyone

Nope, still nothing.

Looking forward to Bilgerryan's test. I'm curious if it's SlimKat not playing nice or if I've just suffered a sudden stroke and forgotten how to flash a zip...

Strange? So does it run through the Aroma Installer and then just not make any changes?

Yep. Installer runs fine but the background doesn't change. I was able to make some changes using your Missing Link S3 Test, so SlimKat isn't totally resistant to change, just doesn't like your background app so far.

Is anyone having success with either the pull-down or background options? I would like to continue development here, unfortunately I don't have this device so testing is up to you guys. Any feedback helps. Thank you

If I could get a little more info? Which options did you choose and have you tried other choices? Any feedback will help me bring development to this community

OK, let's experiment!

1st pass:
Dialer pad background - Black metal -- didn't work
Dialer pad numbers - Dark Red -- didn't work
Battery Icon Mod - Tacho -- didn't work
Progress Spinners - Smiley Face -- didn't work
Settings Backgrounds - Carbon Fiber -- didn't work
Toggles Style - HD red -- didn't work
Toggle bars - remove bars under toggles -- didn't work
Toggle background - blue glow -- didn't work

Framework Secondary Divider Lines - Green -- worked
Tansition Animation - Psyn Animations -- worked
Popup menu and Dialog Windows Mod - Green Glass -- worked
Boot Animations - Apple Smash -- didn't work
Shutdown Animation - Yoda -- didn't work

The things I didn't select were because I don't use the default lockscreen clock (prefer Chronus) and I have some other settings set using Xposed modules that I didn't think to disable before I started the first pass.

2nd pass - with Xposed disabled

Dialer Pad Background - Leather -- didn't work
Dialer Pad Numbers - Flames -- didn't work
Battery Icon - Monster -- didn't work
Signalbars Icons - Twisted Blue -- didn't work
Data Icons - Side by Dark Blue -- didn't work
3G Data Arrows - Side by Dark Blue -- didn't work
WiFi Signal Bars - Icey Blue - didn't work
Progress Spinners - Tick-Tock -- didn't work
Settings Backgrounds - Circuit -- didn't work
Toggles Style - Slide Dark Blue - didn't work
Toggle Bars - Remove Bars Under Toggles -- didn't work
Toggle Background - Carbon -- didn't work
System Themes - Mellow Yellow -- didn't work
Framework Primary Divider Lines- White -- worked
Framework Secondary Divider Lines - Orange -- worked
Transition Animations - N7 Ported -- worked
Animated Pulldown Bar - Project X -- didn't work
Popup Menu and Dialog Windows Mod - Blue Steel -- worked
Boot Animations - Hulk Smash -- didn't work
Shutdown Animations - Disco Peter -- didn't work

All on SlimKat latest weekly build with leankernel.
Let me know if there's anything else you want me to test.

That's why most didn't work, these are meant for TouchWiz except for the menu background change.

Really? I ran the E4GT version on SlimBean, which is not TouchWiz and had great results. Why does this one require TouchWiz?

THANK YOU VERY MUCH! I am going to add the necessary images to make this TW/AOSP compatible. This will increase the size, but I think worth it since more users will benefit! Thanks again! I am still working on the next tester.

You know what I also realized? The s3 tester was built mainly to check the Aroma and installer scripts and to keep the size I only added files to the first choice for every option. Anything other than the first choice contains empty folders. So if your up for running one more test only choosing the first for everything accept the dialer options. Working the adjustments on those from a previous tester.

Better! Boot animation works - scared me the first time, froze and I had to pull the battery to get past it.

Battery and signal icons still don't change. Nothing on the toggles. No change to the dialer. Spinner works.

Also, backgrounds didn't change, and no shutdown animation.

Not just the first choice on some of them. Gotten a couple of choices to work on system themes, transition animations, and pop up menus.
