[APP][MOD]OGYouTube v3.5 Downloader, Popup/Background/ScreenOff Playback [STOPPED]

Has anyone noticed slow stream speeds with OG YouTube that are not in the official YouTube app? I can watch 6 seconds of 360p video in the OG app before it buffers either for a long time (2 minutes to only play another 10 seconds of video) or forever (which leads to an error).
If I watch the same video on Chrome, I can watch the entire video with no buffering and with a comfortable "buffer margin", if you will. Videos in the web version of YouTube seem to play at 480p but I can't tell exactly.

today about 7 hours ago with h+ i had dificulties to watch a video in ogyoutube

thinking that was normal, will check again other days

Og youtube was gone, there a message on site what said what is not longer supported, anyone knows anything about?

Anybody else experiencing the subscriptions feed stopped working? Just a black space...

User your last og youtube version 3.5 that true ,but expert changes to 4.0 with bux fixed actually og youtube recompile with latest version with bux fixed .

Xda senior member still not solve how to play hd video(720p) on android ,i have a right solution for both android & pc.

Ogmods had to cancel that great project for a certain reason! You must not use his project to lift up yourself , without mentioning him! Use a different name for your version "4.0".

I think you've answered yourself about xposed module.

And mods; no clue what you have in mind, but all I can say is that I've removed all the in-app expanding banners (Watch now, Follow us on Spotify/Twitch, etc.) and the very intrusive tex-only ads and the ones that look just like legit video suggestions (below the current video description).

But unfortunately, I prefer not to share these mods which are hacks really and which I know people would just automatically re-post on Xda (or upload somewhere) without even thinking twice about it. I might say that I'm tired to see this kind of behavior/attitude of people taking everything for granted like we owe them and they then turn around benefit and take credit for it.. Just look how someone here on Xda is now sharing OGYT for magisk... So, sorry but my OGYT contribution has stopped as well.

you should have welcomed magisk instend of fighting it

the install process was always painful and prone to breakage magisk simplifyed the install

and no ad injection is never ever ever acceptable

and as far as credit ... due to the very questionable legality of the project you are lucky it wasn't removed on sight

@[] AL [] Hey, I read that you are going to stop contributing to OGYT. I just want to thank you as a user of your dark mod (which is awesome) and for you being very patient with the community. It's sad that some people have taken bad attitudes lately, thinking (as you said) that the devs owe them something.

I knew that post like this will come out eventually. You are 100% right about it. People should be very very careful about exposing or sharing a certain mod bcoz compromising the secrecy of the project may end up like OGYT. They should have understand it by now that not all modded apps are legal. RIP OGYT

youtube adaway is included?

There are plenty of monitoring apps that can show you the system verbose without root. OS Monitor app being one that I use, but I admit that I've never tried saving a log with it, but if it can show the log without root, I'm sure you'll be able to find an app that let you save them. I'm pretty sure this could be done from ADB also.

And even within OGYT, there is an option in Settings/Downloads/OGYouTube
-->Enable Debug Mode which the description states that it will record to logs. But that also, I haven't tried and I couldn't say where the log is saved and if it automatically get sent to OGMods or not. I will investigate this later...

I wasn't sure man. Never really did this much effort on my non-rooted phone. I did on my rooted phone but it was a lot easier.
Anyways it's strange I still use OGYouTube (the old version) it still works, but there's a popup now where I have to say "No don't update". When I click on no don't update the modified YouTube app works just fine.

I think that I can decide on my own what I should or should not welcome, but thanks for trying.

I've never had a single issue with installing OGYT and I must have done it a good couple hundred times... If someone doesn't know how to install/replace a system app, that person should either do some xda searching and reading or avoid rooting their phones altogether because messing up their phone is all that this will do for them.

It's all a matter of perspective and personal moral: I generally don't have much problem with people moding/hacking the stuff from abusive monopolistic big corporations. But as far as that magisk for OGTY thread, whoever started it, originally had no mention of OGMods at all and barely had a line saying: "thanks to the author". So that to me, was unacceptable and I didn't approve it. And I still don't approve it because OGYT has been stopped for legal matters with Google/YT. So why would magisk for OGYT risks of putting XDA into trouble?

The argument that the same should have applied to OGYT is true, but until Google comes knocking, I think that the project was not involving any direct liability to Xda and it had the benifit of the doubt. Well now that Youtube came with their lawyers' letter and that OGMods has promptly stopped his development, 'creating' (no big creation there) an installer and a few new themes for that exact same project under a new Xda thread is not what I would consider something new that would make it's legality questionable. So yes -in my view at least- that guy is now putting Xda at risk. I'm not fighting it too hard though: I've wrote a couple posts about it and never brought it up to Xda's attention...

And yes, we have been lucky with OGYT for a very long time and I'm most grateful for that.
