Man... I can't believe it's already March!

Happy first of the month guys!
I'm happy to announce that MIUIv4 Build VI will be released this weekend! It is a big update.
I updated the MIUI base to the very last that was released for v4. The CyanogenMod base was also updated to an unofficial stable 10.0 base.

Here's a preview of the changelog:
Code:
================================
  MIUIAndroid - MIUI Build VI
================================
- Removed all Tests, Broken stuff, and other crap that were in nightlies
- Rebuild From the Ground UP
  - New CM Base (Unofficial 10.0 STABLE-FINAL)
  - New MIUI Base (3.2.8)
  - Updated RIL
  - New Installer Script
    - Basic Emergency Backup incase of Install Failure
    - Optimizes phone for Installation of MIUI
    - Wipes System, Data, and Cache
  - New Build.prop
  - Removed Navbar Modifications
  - New Media Added (Ringtones, Sounds, Alarms, Wallpapers)
  - Updated Google Apps*
  - Updated MIUI Apps*
  - Updated Verizon Apps*
  - Updated Fonts
  - Fixed Emoji issue in SMS
  - Updated (and added) Flashplayer to the latest
  - Fixed issue with Face unlock not showing
  - Battery Optimizations Made
  - Updated GPS.Configurations for better, faster lockdown
  - Updated MIUI and CM Translations
  - Updated Kernel
  - Zip Alligned
  - Minor Bug Fixes
  - Included latest MIUI US Weather
  - Updated Trebuchet

The ones with the stars just mean that only certain apps were updated that weren't giving the ROM any issues being pre-updated. You may still have to install a few from the Market.

I've also updated both the |OP| and the |Second Post|, which have changelogs below as well.
Code:
============
|OP| Updated!
============
- Removed link to Nightlies! (They were pretty bad)
- Merged both credits sections together!
- New Splash!
- New headers! -- Images instead of text for most of them!
- Cleaned up, and removed more stuff, etc.
Code:
============
|Second Post| Cleaned up!
============
- Removed existing FAQ
- Changed name for additional downloads to Optional Downloads
- Removed old Optional Downloads
- Cleaned up, removed stuff, etc.

For more information, please click SHOW CONTENT below. I highly recommend you do so and find out more information about this update and what will happen with MIUI for our phones.

More Information:

What's the additional info?
This will be the last build update. The life of Version 4 MIUI has ended.
To add to this, this will sadly be the last update from me.

What does this mean for you?
Well basically I'm not going to drop everything,
I will still release small patches for Build VI for any minor issues.
I will still release flashable MODs for Build VI.
I will still provide support and reply to issues for Build VI.
I will NOT create anymore builds (at least anytime soon and if I were to it'd be in a new thread as they would be Version 5 MIUI)

We're going to miss you though!
Thanks! I'm going to miss you guys too! I'm glad that we've chugged our way through hundreds of bugs MIUI was plagued with.
I still remember the day BeansTown106 released the very first version of MIUI for the d2vzw community to see! I remember the drama I got caught up in, I remember our journey to build VI. It was great.
Thank You for all of your guys' donations and support.

Can we still tell you about bugs?
Of course you can! :). I'm still going to make sure that this thread has at least a little life until another dev picks this up!

What can I do to show my appreciation?
Well. Honestly hitting the Thanks button is more than enough for me, but my family and I aren't one of the richest out there so donations help too!

Will you ever develop MIUI again?
Maybe. I just don't have the time to develop anymore ROMs right now.

When will Build VI be out again?
Either today (Friday), Saturday, or Sunday. Possibly later, but more than likely over this coming weekend.

Can I see some screenshots?
Sure here's a few I took of the latest build:

Re: [ROM] MIUIAndroid - MIUIv4 - Build VI [3.1.13]

This just made my weekend to hear :) I would be happy even if we only had V. I have not even considered flashing another ROM again since installing build V. Haven't even had to reflash this ROM as I have with others, as other ROMs seemed to get buggy with time.

Thanks for all your effort in this John!

Thank-You. :).
I'm proud to be one of the few teenagers who does something constructive with their time.

My friend, I'm so glad to hear that. Cause you're of only a few teenagers in this world to be all they can be at this age! Keep it up man.

4G has never been an issue in the Builds.
MICamera isn't included in a lot of MIUI ROMs because it is very picky and requires proprietary libs.

His post a few before yours says the upcoming update will be his last. We were lucky to have as much of his time as we did. Maybe another dev will take an interest in MIUI in the future.

MIUI has selectively released v5 already.

Sadly I really don't have much time left in my schedule for doing ROM updates. I planned on doing some weeklies for you guys with v4 as I FINALLY got things smooth and transferable between base updates, but unfortunately Xiaomi picked the EOL date of v4 as soon as I figured out how to get weeklies going nicely.

Working with AOSP-- well not even... Working with MIUI is a giant pain in the butt and takes a lot of effort and time. I do put effort in to everything I do so I can't say that I don't have that, but time is something I lack at the moment.

Well that and the fact I've been very stressed out lately.
I've managed to get myself in way too many extra-circular activities, I do college classes for my sister and brother-in-law, I get bullied for being a gay-nerd/geek, I take ALL honors/AP courses in school, and a lot of other issues have sprung up lately...

It really was fun though. I don't regret getting into dramatic forum arguments over this ROM, or opening up several threads about it. I love MIUI and I loved making it an enjoyable experience for this device. I mean it wasn't just me, Bleelas, and others have helped as well but it did take a lot out of us. That being said I'm not dropping all my development / support. I will still release tiny patches for Build VI to fix any tiny bugs you guys may encounter.
I however will not be making another Build anytime soon. Or a v5 to that matter.

If anyone wants to start working on v5 and wants to work with me part-time then I can and will definitely do that. I just don't have time to take things on full-force on my own or be the main developer.

Thanks for making my developing experience such a stunning epoch in my life!
Build VI should be out tomorrow. I'm still waiting on word from my testers on some things, but I AM working on the ROM as I type right now.

Well let me say thank u for all ur time and contributions to ur great roms.. It has been very much appreciated.. I think it's great tht ur freaking smart and taking honors ap classes I wish when I was n skool I would have taken it as serious as u have.. I mite have ended up being something better than a dental Assistant lmao.. As far as getting bullied I'm sorry u have to go through tht, getting bullied for anything is very tough let alone the fact tht u choose a different sexual preference which shouldn't mean **** but sadly our progress n humanity hasn't grown much.. Stay strong and no tht some day those lames will cut ur grass or wash ur car or may even work for u.. Keep up the great work.. That m u again for everything..

Btw where west coast are u??.. I'm also west coast I notice there's more south and east coast on these forums.. Lol

This ROM is community supported, meaning support relies on fellow XDA Members. I have completed this project and no longer give support.

The RIL should be working now! If you have any problems with your network, look through this thread for answers. If you don't find what you're looking for, before you do anything drastic like sending your phone back, PM me.

As SJ mentioned, a new build is in the works. I didn't use the most recent CM and MIUI bases because I'm more concerned with stability at this point. The RIL should work fine now so don't worry about mobile network settings anymore :)

EDIT: Just realized I forgot to fix the capacitive button lights. Guess that's for the next release!

    FAQ
[Q] Dev-Host is not loading for me! Help! What did I do wrong?!
    A. Relax. You didn't do anything wrong. First of all check what browser you're using; if you're using Internet Explorer, go ahead and close it and delete system32 (J/K). --1. Make sure that your browser is up to date. If the issue still exists, make sure that your anti-virus software or firewall is not blocking dev-host. Sometimes our malware guardians overeat to shortened URLs and tend to freak out over some like "d-h.st". If you're still experiencing issues, contact your ISP (Internet Service Provider) and double check that they haven't blocked dev-host from you.

[Q] How do I install this?
    A. There's steps in the first post above, but if you insist on me reiterating: First download it and put it on your phone. Then reboot into the recovery. Lastly, wipe Data, Cache, and Dalvik Cache then Install the ZIP file.

[Q] Why am I getting an Install Error?
    A. Well I'm not sure actually. It's something you're experiencing on your end. To keep you from having to redownload the ROM again, check to see if your Recovery is up to date first. I recommend the latest version of TWRP. If you're still having issues then redownload the ROM as your download may have gotten mistakenly corrupted as data packets were being transferred from dev-host to your computer or from your computer to your phone.

    [Q] Why am I bootlooping?
    A. Well I'm not sure actually. It's something you're experiencing on your end. To begin with however, pull out your battery then put it back in your phone. It should be off now. NOW hold down Power, Volume UP, and Home Key all at the same time so that your phone reboots into the recovery. Now wipe data, and cache and flash the ROM again. If the issue still persists, check to make sure that your recovery is up to date and or that you have a copy of the ROM that did not corrupt at all when downloading.

[Q] Why is it taking so long for my device to turn back on?
    A. Well usually the first boot on any ROM takes a while as the phone is preparing the system as it would as if the phone was new. Give the phone about 5 minutes to perform the initial boot. If it still gets stuck, then you may be bootlooping.

[Q] Why won't the keyboard pop up?!
    A. Egh. I hate this. It's not really a bug or an issue it's just that the stupid MIUI Tutorial text at the notification bar prevents it from popping up the first few times. Try and get the tutorial text to go away and then re-hit the text field that you wanted to type in again.

[Q] Why is the launcher a bit laggy after booting up?
    A. It is still preparing all of your apps and possible actions you may do (e.g. swipe left)

[Q] Why does the Recorder App give me an error?
    A. Because you need to go into it's settings and change the file record type to 3gpp to AMR

[Q] Why doesn't the NavBar work in the JB Control Panel?
    A. Because I removed it's functionality as it caused major issues.

[Q] Why isn't MI Camera included in this?
    A. It's not included in almost any MIUI JellyBean ROM because it's proprietary to the MI-Phones.

[Q] Why aren't my Voicemails playing or loading?
    A. They take a few minutes to initially load off of Verizon's Servers and Download

[Q] Why are there multiple weather widgets?
    A. One (maybe two) are for the Chinese and International Weather services and then one is for the app that is for USA Weather

[Q] How do I get the USA Weather Widget to load?
    A. Open up the app first and add your city

[Q] Why does the USA Weather App has displaced sides?
    A. Because it wasn't made for HD Screens. And no I won't and can't fix it. Don't use it if you don't like it; uninstall it.

[Q] Why does the Download Manager keep yelling at me whenever I try to download things?
    A. Because Xiaomi was stupid and made a stupid prompt that is broken on a ton of variants of MIUI. To fix it (semi), open the app called Downloads (under Tools folder), then tap menu, then settings, then change the File Size Limit from 1M to 10M and then slide the "data download prompt" slider off.

[Q] Why doesn't my NFC work?
    A. It should. If it doesn't then you must have been living under a rock for the past half a year because all it takes to fix it was to be on TouchWiz Jellybean and toggle it.

[Q] What do I chose for the ViperAudio MOD Application for my board / CPU / phone type?
    A. Cortex A8

[Q] Why doesn't the camera icon theme in all/every theme?
    A. I don't know, it's up to the app itself to theme and since it's not something like MI-Cam.apk it probably doesn't meet the parameters of the theme. Some themes may have a parameter that just is along the lines of "theme-all-camera-related-apks"

[Q] Why is my device ID a "Galaxy Nexus" in the About Device / Phone and in the Play Store?
    A. Make sure that you Restore the Build.Prop in the Wallet Installer App if you installed Google Wallet

[Q] Why is the GPS not locking on fast or accurately?
    A. If it still does not seem to like your device, get PimpMyROM off of the Google PlayStore and manually set your GPS.cfg file using the App and reprovision it to your region.

[Q] Why doesn't my screen turn on right away after hitting the power button?
    A. You either undervolted or underclocked the phone too low or your theme is causing the system to hold up and wait on the theme to load it's lockscreen.

[Q] Why doesn't my camera work?
    A. You need to download and install the I535VRBMB1 Firmware. Get it from Invisiblek off his website here.

    [Q] Why doesn't In-Call Recording work?
    A. It is region locked. It is illegal in many places so I had to disable it.

People, if you haven't tried this ROM yet and are tired of Touch Wiz you owe it to yourself. Data handoff is excellent, signal strength as good as TW and Bluetooth actually reconnects when you get back in your car! NFC is great, battery life is awesome and the themes available are simply mind blowing! Hats off to the devs working on CM and AOKP ROMs too but this is the best thing going as of right now.

Sent from my SCH-I535 using xda app-developers app
Thanks! Compliments actually are more encouraging for us to get back to work on this than "When's the next update", "Did development stop on this?", "I want an ETA for update please. I want to change ROM."

I'll start working on this over the weekend. I'm a bit overwhelmed with absent work at the moment after being sick for so long. I'm in no hurry to read Wuthering Heights either >.<, so to put it that way, this isn't the only thing on the back burner (although I HAVE to read that damn book soon or I'll fail the tests on it).

If you're super impatient, I suggest you follow me on Google+ or Join the MIUI D2vZW Community as I often post what I'm doing myself or when an update is scheduled in the community.

We're also debating on a few matters with MIUIAndroid devs right now too. Plus Bleelas just got back from his Vacation.

I have a new build ready, and I can pull a Synergy for you guys and release it, but I'd rather everyone wait up more for a better product. To make you all feel better, I updated the date on the Thread for you if it makes you feel more "Up-to-date".

    Keep this in mind please:

We've gone a LONG ways with MIUI for the D2VZW.

    1. Back in August preview builds were shot up by numerous amounts of Devs across the internet for the d2vzw that were early alpha and very buggy
    2. BeansTown106 officially picked us up for a MIUI.us ROM and came out with his Alphas in September
    3. Bleelas released his BA MIUIAndroid builds with great functionality aside from Facebook and some other minor issues
    ------ Development Halted --------
    4. I released a small bug fix and patch kit for BeansTown's MIUI Alpha
    5. I picked up MIUI.us builds and did some nightlies
    6. I fixed a ton of bugs such as Face Unlock, Camera Force Close, NFC, and other shiz
------ Minor Conflict; Devlopment halted -------
    7. Bleelas became the first dev to fully patch the MIUI RIL like a beast
    ------- Halt in Development -----------
    8. Bleelas, BeansTown, I and other devs team up (roughly) and create a new MIUI.us build (although it was merely build ontop of the buggy alphas by BeansTown back in August)
--------- Long Pause in Development; Project died -------
    9. I pick up MIUI and begin doing updates and updated builds on it
    10. I team up with Bleelas and we create Build III, the solid base ground MIUI for the d2vzw and d2spr.
    11. We polish things off with minor enchaining builds up to where we are now Nearly bugless.

We are almost to perfection. Please just wait up a bit longer guys!
We're both very busy right now and have lost a bit of motivation, but we're never going to give anything up.

    Thank you for your understanding.
    - John.
