[KERNEL] SpeedMod N7000 [K2-12 CWM5 CIFS ROOT / NO-ROOT]

Hi guys,

This is the SpeedMod kernel for the Samsung Galaxy Note GT-N7000.

SpeedMod's core features are:
- Super stable: No undervolting, overclocking or potentially unstable modifications
- Fast and smooth: Compiler and code optimizations
- Excellent battery life: Remove unecessary logging and debugging

Current features:

Root and CWM:
- Automatically installs root (su) but can be disabled
- CWM recovery

Screen and misc tweaks:
- MDNIE screen sharpness tuning (improves text readability)
- MDNIE color tuning (reduces over-saturation of color)
- init.d, TUN, CIFS, IPV6 Privacy support

Performance:
- CPU governor tweaks: increase responsiveness
- IO tweaks
- Read ahead tweaks
- Updated to jhash3
- Compiled with optimizations using Linaro GCC toolchain
- Switched to SLAB instead of SLUB
- Optimized GPU DVFS
- Optimized CPU hotplug
- ARM CPU topology support
- SCHED_MC multi-core aware scheduler

Turned off unnecessary logging for better smoothness and efficiency:
- Disabled Android Debug Logger / logcat
- Disabled Samsung debug
- Disabled various kernel debugging, statistics and tracing options

Here is how to change some of the kernel configurations:

[HOW TO ENABLE LOGCAT]

If you are a developer or want to re-enable logcat for whatever reason, do this:

adb shell
su
mount -o remount,rw /system
echo ANDROIDLOGGER >> /system/etc/tweaks.conf
mount -o remount,ro /system

[HOW TO DISABLE AUTO-ROOT]

Create a file called ".noautoroot" in either /system or /data. This will disable the auto root installation. This example, shows how to remove root completely:

adb root
adb shell
mount -o remount,rw /system
rm /system/xbin/su
rm /system/app/Superuser.apk
rm /data/app/Superuser.apk
touch /system/.noautoroot
mount -o remount,ro /system
sync
reboot

[HOW TO RE-ENABLE AUTO-ROOT]

adb root
adb shell
mount -o remount,rw /system
rm /system/.noautoroot
mount -o remount,ro /system
sync
reboot

Eybee let me know how it works I'm looking for a jernel change and FM does not convince me very much.

I think this might be the one with good performance but near to stock battery life.

Just a quick question: Can I enable logcat when I need to see logs with this kernel? (I need to see my own logs sometimes..)

1)How is the smoothness?
2)How is the battery life?

I've been using AbyssNote for quite a while, but now the developer has really messed it up, 1.6 was probably the best, and I haven't found any release after 2.3 to be satisfactory. So the question now is, This or FM kernel?

1) Smoothness is great (on Rocket ROM v17)
2) how could anyone tell after minutes of using???

btw, I don't like you are talking about Angelom...he messed nothing up imho!

Already flashed, I have the perception that the Touch screen is a little less senstive is this even possible or I am paranoid?

It works fine for me, smooth and clean.

flashed every kernel of yours on my SGS2. Great fan of yours.Moved on to The Note 2 months back. Was wondering if you would ever switch over to The Note. So happy to see you here.!!!

Flashed the K1-1 Test. Its running smooth as butter. Looking forward to the final one.

I gues OC is not what he is looking for, I have tried 1080p and harcore games on my note without any OC perfextly fine is every body so enthusiastic about overclocking something that is already super fast.

One question...I have rooted my Note by "Easy rooting toolkit (v1.0) created by DooMLoRD".

Do I have to unroot prior to flashing SpeedMod?

Nope...you dont need to unroot...
