Hey guys, I just installed android 4.4.2 stock rom to my galaxy s4 i9500 but I'm noticing an issue with the battery, it's discharging faster than 4.3 and Android system is at the top of the list all the time, any one has noticed this? And maybe a possible fix?

Maybe it's your mods. No problem with 4.4.2

unfortunately i don't have any ideas on what could be causing your battery to drain.

Same here Android System 19% and Android OS 10% , Stock Rom unRooted, could be the SD CARD (perhaps it can't properly read it and keeps on trying), gonna try to remove it and check if the battery will drain as fast.

I tried that already and the battery still drained the same unfortunately.

Still no solution ... :( "Android OS" and "Android System" processes still quickly draining the baterry, even after 3 omega v23(kitkat) flashes + 1 wanamlite rom 4.4.2. Same results all the time.I think this is TW related problem and I will try a non-TW 4.4.2. custom ROM.I Will post back soon

Updated to stock 4.4.2 India ROM. Battery life is so far so good. 4% drop over-night. Shall post updated after EOD. The Android system is running because of the com.sec.sviewcover application. Think it is triggering the sensor without the cover and the phone is searching for it. If we can freeze it then hopefully the drain can be restricted.

I am on the latest stock rom from india but noticed when I rooted the phone using Philz v6 and installed Wanam lite, my battery drains so fast like 10% in about 40 mins. Any ideas? Should I go back to stock rom unrooted? Can just rooting the phone be the problem?

10% 40Mn means 15% per hour that is a 100 % CPU throttle sign. you device may be a bit warm?
You may have an application turning in background or a system service not stopped like "the well known mediaserver" .
Install a wakelock tracker to see whats happens. (check at play store)

I tried a wakelock tracker called "wakelock detector" and the main CPU waker was the exchange service. What I also did was remove the SD card and restarted the phone without it then put it, I got 31% charge after 12h 25m which is a huge difference and again the main draining app was the android system and the second was the screen, any idea regarding this android system draining power????

If this is linked to your SD it can be because exchange API is seeking in loop for data that are not any more reachable because of kk 4.
Best is to google for more detail " wake lock exchange battery drain" and learn from that.
    Good hunting.

Oh, sorry about that. I think you will now have to flash the stock rom and then root again?

Below is the output from *#1234#

    hope this will help

i have same trouble my docomo galaxy S4 (unrooted, stock 4.4.2)
    but now solved.

    *no need root access*
    using "Permission Manager"
    https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ovmobile.appopslauncher
then run and find "Android System" in "LOCATION", into "Android System" and turn off "Keep awake".
    thats all

i hope this will help for some peoples.:)
