Trouble sending sms

I have been using customized roms for quite a while and lately I have loaded ICS 4.0.4. If I try to send a SMS on 4.0.4 my phone loses reception/wifi and 3G. The reception only gets restored when I delete the sms. Any help please?

This may be a very noob question and not right place for it, in which case plz go ahead and delete this post mods.

I just bought a I9100 from a friend, but it's locked to another carrier (O2 not that it matters) - I wanted to know if there's a way for me to get this unlocked.

thx

Hi
I am new to the business of rooting but,My SG 2 reboots frequently.
I believe this is a problem with android ver 2.3.5. (the ver shown on my phone info)and, may be cured by later versions. my Telco has not yet cleared the latest version.
If I root will I be able to update to the latest version .

Kernel 2.6.35 7-19100XWKJ1-cL647431.

02 Ireland

If rooting possible how can I restore usage afterwards.

Regards

Fernrock

after rooting, make a back up of your rom.

you can always flash other newer roms searched throughout this development xda. no need to use Kies anymore. there are loads of different roms around here.
just search what you looking for and read alot of posts.

As far as I remember there was a thread that contains almost all of the "stock" ROM's and kernels - depending on your country and carier " http://xdaforums.com/showthread.php?t=1075278&highlight=stock+rom " but you should keep in mind the notorious "flash-counter"... -Dont ask what's "that" please just use the "search" tool... Hope this would point you the way...

Changing how numbers are displayed

After flashing several ICS ROMs, I've noticed that in the dialler the numbers are displayed as +91 12 34 567890 instead of the usual +911234567890. How can I change how the numbers are displayed?

Thanks

Hello, Please I need help right now...

I flased CM 7.1 on my SGS2, and it had a problem the installation went fine, but after 5 minutes use it was freezing, and I could only pull out the battery to restart it. I tried restoring my nandroidbackup with CWM, but it seems that he version changed from 5.0.2.7 to 5.0.2.6 and now it does not recognize my backup anymore.
Now..in CWM, I wiped/factory reset, and wiped dalvik cache and power off the phone. Now I want to install stock. I think I have to use ODIN. What kernel and ROM should I use ? Is it ok if I flash with ODIN after wiping everyting ?

Cut a long answer short, for Stock Firmware follow this guide http://xdaforums.com/showthread.php?t=1075278 this will flash stock kernel and stock ROM back to square one. Flashing with Odin after you wipe is okay. Flashing with Odin will wipe everything in any case.

When I first bought the phone, it looked like this:

http://www.shareimage.ro/images/9w5ujffjojt312qcbcf.jpeg

can you please direct to which rom to use ? XXKG2 will be all right ? Don't I have to first wipe Cyanogen or something before flashing stock with ODIN ? ODIN flashed kernel and ROM in the same process ?

In this firmware isn't the kernel included ? Because on the following line there's a link to download XXKG2 stock kernel ? Or that's only for separate download ?

*EDIT: please see photo, I can't load it here

The *.tar.md5 file generally will flash Firmware and stock kernel at once. the link to image say "403 Forbidden" I can't view your image.

Edit: Otherwise just flash one of Wanam's Stock ROMs very stable.

Thanks the picture from when I first bought the phone
Thanks for your response, sorry about the picture. I'll try again:
sc20111209214631.jpg

My information from when I bought the phone was this:

1. Android version: 2.3.3
2. Baseband: I9100BUKG1
3. Kernel: 2.6.35.7-I9100BUKG2-CL342
4. Build number: Gingerbread.BUKG2

Now..can I flash any kernel from Intratech's post? or should I choose a one that resembles mine ? like XXKG2 (Android 2.3.4).
Also there's no problem to flashing an older version ? 2.3.4 from what I have now Cyanogenmod 7, android version 2.3.7 ?

No prop,

Choose a Kernel that best match yours. press [crtl + F] in your browser and look for XXKG1 and see which one best matches your region.

For Carrier branded firmware you go here
http://xdaforums.com/showthread.php?t=1113928

No problem going back as long as you use odin to flash.
Just a heads up make sure you backup your EFS.

You go read here for EFS

Hi, thanks on the tip with EFS, I already got it backed up using clean and raw methods, found here on xda; and using ktool just to be sure.

Ok, since I bought the phone in Romania, I'll use BUKG2; this one, as its the closest one, and the region matches as well.

Code:
Romania
BUKG2:http://www.multiupload.com/7GOUJ19WY3
Firmware info: PDA:BUKG2| PHONE:BUKG1| CSC:CNXKE1

BUKG2 Stock Kernel: http://www.multiupload.com/EDZSOA710N
Password: intratech@XDA

But why is the kernel on a separate download ? doesn't the first link with the firmware has the kernel included ? Do I need to flash the kernel separate? Please
I read Intratech's guide, but I don't know what to do with the second link ( the stock kernel)

Firmware has Kernel included....

Separated Kernel download only for when you want kernel only.

So you flash the Firmware in your region/carrier. DONE.

So you go download firmware from link provided here
http://xdaforums.com/showthread.php?t=1113928
that's it. :)

I can't download that firmware. The link is broken. Some posted a website with firmware, but it does not have the one I'm looking for.
http://skywanker.net/Download/download.aspx
Please tell me is there any problem if I install a different region firmware downloaded from that site ?
Or should I just flash ICS stock firmware ?

Cant i just use superoneclick, or an update.zip to root?
at the moment no, but as more people start to get this phone, development will start to pick up

Will the Galaxy S II get a Voodoo Kernel?
No, supercurio, Mr. Voodoo himself, said that he doesnt see any room for improvement on this phone =/

My Galaxy S II is locked to a network, how can i unlock it?
theres an app for that, and here it is

Hello guys, I just got my S2 a few days ago and I have decided to upgrade it from 2.3.4 to ICS.
I have a question, if someone can help me with this, do the baseband version, kernel version and build number have to be the same as the future ROM that I will decide to upgrade to it? How do I know which one to pick?
I have Baseband version (I9100XXKI1) , kernel version (2.6.35.7-I9100XWKI4-CL575468 root@DELL143 #2) and build (GINGERBREAD.XWKI4), can you guys recommend a good ROM (and eventually some step-by-step tutorial) for me?
    Thank you in advance.
You can flash a different baseband, kernel and the ROM (build).
It is not required to have it the same like your stock one.

If you want it to be ICS 4 official ROM, find and download it here:
    http://xdaforums.com/showpost.php?p=16781168&postcount=3

choose the ROM which starts with XW (because thats your build)
i suggest the XWLPD, at the bottom.

If you want it a CUSTOM ROM, you have to root your kernel first.
Download your rooted stock kernel here:
    http://xdaforums.com/showpost.php?p=17704099&postcount=6

choose the 1st or the 5th cwm4.zip (thats yourbuild)
Then flash a custom rom, use the search button to find them.
(i suggest the Wanamlite ics rom)

OK, but I dont have csc as a separate file, I have it as a part of whole fw, so can I just use it like that (whole fw with pda/phone/csc), to load it in odin in csc section. Will it install just csc or whole fw with pda and phone and csc???

No you shouldnt do like that... Download serbian csc by searchimg xda or web... And select it in csc field.. Select the fw you downloaded in phone field..leave other fields empty... And flash...
And in odin, do not check repartion option... Leave the pit field empty...

Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA Premium App

Yeah, google is my good friend but I cant find it :) All I get are pages with multi CSC as a part of fw

    Hi mate.. Try here

    http://xdaforums.com/showthread.php?t=1075278

Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA Premium App
    2
....and to downgrade my firmware back to the stock firmware 2.3.3 (if i want to in the future), i'll just have to flash back with ODIN right??

    P.S - Sorry for all the Q's =)

    Salam,

its ok, you can ask anytime, I love sharing knowledge, I my self learned everything from XDA only.

Yes you can use the same procedure.

But the Custom ROMS are much better than the Stock ROMS. if you need to enjoy the SGS2 on its fullest, you need to have a custom ROM.

P.S: You are always welcome :)
