I think it may be that you can add an image as in the examples you gave but, the icons ( meaning bars ) are not. But I just don't know for sure.

BTW in most of the lasts posts, those links are showing taskbars where the icon behind the signal bars are skinned, and not the signal bars themselves. There are no problems having a background for the signal bar icons to make them visible on a white background. The problem is how to change the colour on the bars themselves. Cause I can't find the right ico files in the dlls...

So far everything I have read supports this info. On GSM it seems the bars are not skinable, in the Tsowen thread they sate that the bars are rendered in some way the prevents it.

Crap. I missed one icon when fixing the smudge issue  I've attached a fixed phcanOverbmp.dll and the fixed icon (1039.ico) in the zip file. I'm really sorry, guys!!!

Oh yes, that post :p Thanks, but the problem is that the icons which shows the signal icons there are the LargeTitleBar.dll and we don't use that on our diamonds :( So editing that file unfortunately won't change a thing...

Yeah, it seems there's a possibility of skinning the bars on CDMA and not on GSM, but I don't know for sure...

I see. I think we can possibly do something with the background, or 64-71.ico in phcanOverbmp.dll, or 4674/4675/4681/4682.ico in shellres.192.dll so that it looks more like android. Even a tiny green dot or an tiny android-bot that replace the original "tower". What do you guys think? Sorry for asking too much.

No need to apologize, keep coming with ideas ;) But this is DN's project, I'm just doing some very small pieces in adopting it to 6.1...

I thought 64-71.ico was kinda android-like already? And I think they override some of those icons in shellres.192, but I'm not sure about that...

Looks like all the .ico was already modified to android-like, but they were not displayed. Maybe we need to find the "background" file. Let me as around.

AFAIK it's not possible to have a background on taskbars in WM 6.1. But please please prove me wrong ;)

It looks like 4675.ico in shellres.192.dll is the one that has the top left corner "background". Check the attached file extracted from Laser Inc. Taskbar here: http://xdaforums.com/showpost.php?p=4307427&postcount=4
and this (full background):
http://xdaforums.com/showthread.php?t=631978

UPDATE: I have replace the icon from 4681 to 4675. The result isn't the greatest because the bar doesn't really match, but it's better than empty.
With a small mod to make it matches better. Hope that DN doesn't mind.

Yep it looks good. But the problem that I encountered, is that you are not able to draw the icon all the way down and to the right - the icons which you can edit don't cover the entire area that the signal bars use. You'll have two or three pixels at the bottom which can't be done anything about, same problem on the right hand side. Have a look:

Awesome. Thank you so much

I see you did not provide taskbar color fix for QVGA (I did try your cabs and my taskbar background changed to a glossy blue one - something i often see when the taskbar background image cannot be found or displayed) so I made myself one, changed the color a little bit so that it looks much more like what I saw on HTC's android device.

Here is the screenshot on my HTC Blue Angel.

Yeah, so I think it could be better to remove the background and just use the "tower"

Nice work :)

yeah same here

the background is already removed in the wm6.5 versions, i think i know how to skin the wm6.1 bars, although im not too sure itl work.. I think what youve done above (change the background added a bit off green) is possibly the best option just to make it blend in with the rest of the icons, as it looks messed just standing out white.

    Android Taskbar

    Android Taskbar

thanks to longice.. There is only one version atm which is the original taskbar, with a waitcursor to support wm6.1.. Let me know if it works well so that i can add more versions :D

Added New QVGA (also Here fo no battery) and New WM6.1 version, unfortunately aas far as i know its not possible to skin the signal bars, so theyre going to have ot be white for now, sorry. in Post 3 (thanks to dandnj71 and longice for all there work)

For Another WM6.1 version and extra's check Here Thanks to Physx

Remember the Volume icon for most devices will not be skinned! You have to download the zip attached which contains the Volume icon DLL, you will need to use the version you are using (19XX or 20XX) your Volume control and volume icon should be perfect after this.

    internal_percent.bmp
    dark_Percent.bmp
For These versions of the battery go here, BIG thanks to dandnj71 to all of his work

added a zip file which contains all the taskbar cabs for people expriencing problems with taskbar
images etc and battery icon problems (i think)..

For Original Waitcursors look In Post 3

QVGA testing only for now, although im sure it should work, just bare with me.. Only one version at the moment :D

If you are still experiencing a Volume Icon bug after installing the correct version Look at Post 3

Before installing anything remember to install SDKCERTS.cab from Here Without this the taskbar may not work!

All the taskbars have the CDMA Fix inside so no probz for CDMA users. I also added A battery percentage version BIG thanks to dandnj71

Finally, after a lot of looking into, fixed all known issues for all devices.. Now V4/V5 works for all.. If you guys have any suggestions please post a reply, as your ideas only make the taskbar better :)

Taskbar Underlay Colors are added if you want black/white taskbar underlay. Download Taskbar Colors.zip and excute cab inside.

    Instructions For A Perfect Installation

    1) Install SDKCerts.cab
    2) Find out if you are using Wm6.5 or WM6.5.x.. To know this just simply look if your start menu button is placed at the top or bottom.
    Top=WM6.5 (stock roms)
    Bottom=WM6.5.X
    3) Choose one of the folowing taskbars that are attached to this post (or extras) which say the version of you choice and the wm6.5 build you are using
    4) Run the cab on your Device
    5) Software Reset
(If Volume icon missing (most likely))
    6) Find out if what version of htc volume control you are using
    7) Download "Dark Ninja Volume Fix 19XX-20XX"
    8) Run the cab of the version you are using 19XX or 20XX
    9) Software Reset

    -Your done-

For WM6.5.X Android Taskbar W/VGA With no battery percentage install "Dark Ninja Android Taskbar WM6.5.X V6.cab"
For WM6.5.X Android Taskbar W/VGA With Battery percentage install "Dark Ninja Android Taskbar WM6.5.X V6 + % BATTERY.cab"
For Wm6.5 Android Taskbar W/VGA Without Battery percentage install "Dark Ninja Android Taskbar WM6.5 V6.cab"
For Wm6.5 Android Taskbar W/VGA With battery percentage install "Dark Ninja Android Taskbar WM6.5 V5+ % BATTERY.cab"
For Both WM6.5 & WM6.5.X Taskbar Background Colours "Taskbar Colors.zip"

This taskbar replaces the original WM6.5 Taskbar with the one below. Please remember to backup before installingn as i do not want to be responsible for messing up your taskbar.

The above picture is just a tease, every single icon in the tasbar has been skinned.

    Still To Come
Making progres on qvga! Hopefully very soon will be the release :)
    2
Temporary Second Post Soon to Be Filled ;)

    Extras

-Original Wait Cursor Dlls are in this post attached

-Also if you are getting a black square on the volume icons try the cab attached..

-If you are getting htc volume control problems, and causing the hardware buttons to do folly things you can try a few of these suggestions..try doing this:

First, remember to find out which version of volume control you are using and with them install the fix's in the previous post. If that doesnt work..

    1) Try going to windows directory in total commander
    2) (uninstall 19XX or 20XX volume fix)
    3) Install This
    3) Software reset.

This method i would say is the best way as it doesnt effect your VolumeControl dll.. It will defo work
