bettet do it if u want be sure not to encounter some bugs.

for instructions how-to install ics.ftf go to aneels z1 honami rom thread, on install institutions there's a link to Sony forum. u can dl there the ftf too :good:

yez it removes booth. but no worry, cwm is a kernel thing just flash th kernel & enter recovery.

same goes for root. mosty the rom is preeroted so just install like allways, done. no worry.

but remember to wipe all partitions afer u flash the LX kernel here!!!

so, at best:
1. flash full ics.ftf, exclude nothin in flashtool., boot once may.
2. install this roms kernel
3. wipe all partitions incl. /system.
4. flash rom &gapps.
5. boot & fly ^_^

I have a question. Is it safe to install cm11 on cm10.1? I have 10.1 and I just want to install kernel from cm11 rom, format all from recovery and update zip (cm11 rom) from recovery. :cyclops:

sure, just miss the ics.ftf flash

just flash kernel cm11 then format /data /system /cache & do wipe data/factory reset just in case.

install rom zip, even gapps are optional.

done. but remember if u encounter any problem pls consider flashing the stock ics.ftf to make sure its all clear on ur side. :)
but should went fine if u miss flashing ics.ftf want only to mention ;)

IMPORTANT!!!!!!!!! :

ITS NEEDED TO FORMAT /sytem /cache /data!!! after flashing cm11 kernel BEFORE installing ROM zip.

--> if not u will encounter serious problems or bootloop, bcuz the system partion will be broken as of changed partition sizes.

---> if u just want to test this build
1. do only on ur roms kernel a backup.
2. if u want get back from this cm11 to old rom:
flash old kernel again wipe ALL partitions then restore, done.

because our kernel does not have the needed bits for vsync support and it's not easy to fix it.
Hi Mike,
we faced the problem on vsync too (with huge battery drain) when working on hybrid memory allocations porting for CM 10.2 and CM 11.0, we solved it by applying two missing commits on mdp driver side, together with further several updates to framebuffer/display/vidc and kgsl drivers.

If you want to fix the problem on kernel side, as we did, you'll surely need these two commits:
- msm: mdp: Use a waitqueue for vsync notifications
- msm: mdp: Wait unconditionally in internal vsync waits

Instead, as temporary workaround, if you want to fix this problem on rom side, you'll simply have to revert (better manually) the changes made by this commit: hwc: Simplify vsync code

I hope this helps...
Best regards and Merry Christmas!!!

Hi I flashed the ftf and boot.img and formatted everything.
Now I'm in recovery but unfortunately the USB Mass Storage in the recovery doesn't connect my sd-card to my laptop so I can't install the update.zip.
I don't know if it's an issue with CWM v6.0.4.5 or not but I could connect with older CWMs. Any solutions ?

* Revert: Proximity sensor fix for coconut/mango
* Untested new features:
- Ported from cm-10.2: Camera features
- Ported from cm-10.2: Status Bar settings
- Ported from cm-10.2: Ability to answer call with hardware HOME button

Builds will roll alphabetically for all devices until tomorrow.

I don't have access to my build pc for 2 weeks so I haven't tested the changes before starting the build, so there might be some bugs present.
All the untested new features are not yet merged in CM but I decided to include them in this build so I can get some feedback if they work right. Please test them.

Some things about the bug tracker:
I notice that 3/4 of the issues you open are invalid, meaning they don't follow the rules I mention in the 3rd post of this thread. I have decided to immediately close any invalid issues without any notice.

Some general rules:
- Don't bother to file an issue in the bug tracker if you don't have a proper description of the problem or you don't have any logs, since I will simply ignore them.
- Don't file an issue including more than one bugs. Seperate issues = seperate bug reports
- If you found a bug, you can discuss about it here in this thread (that why I opened it) BUT you HAVE to report it to the bug tracker if you want me to take a look at it. Bug reports that are only on xda and not on the bug tracker will be simply ignored and will never be fixed.

I already mentioned all of this in the 3rd post but most people don't bother to read the rules.
[/rant]

Enjoy your holiday!

OK thanks. Is there any way to let wifi tethering works?? like using 3rd party app??
should work. diable mobile data, connect to wifi, the connect to pc & enable tethering. wait a min it take some time.

...
Any solutions ?

bro, just place rom.zip & gapps before doing anything on sd.

bcuz cwm sd connection iabt sure allways also for me not worked many times. i do use usally a adapter for the card, internet sticks and other atuff have many mini sd slots. as a workaround :D

do it this way:
1.flash ics.ftf, boot.
enable mass storage in settings
conecct to pc now place here the rom zip n gapps.
2.power off now do install like u do
just don't forget to wipe the partitions
..

peace & merry Christmas to all :)
thx mike for Christmas stuff & build :)

    Here's a status update:

    - Rebased & cleaned up the new audio HAL
    - Some fixes ported from msm8660 audio HAL
    - Fix in audio HAL for VOIP apps like Skype and Line
    - Fixed coconut stereo speakers
    - Testing some changes from CAF jb_2.5.3 branch in frameworks/av related to LPA audio issues
    - Testing some camera changes again, should be the most stable we can have at the moment
    - Disabled 720p again. It's unstable and needs more testing. Will work on it again after the first ION build release
    - Testing change to fix "bootlogo appearing while in android" bug
    - Tested FM and made some additional changes but still don't get audio. Will work on it again after the first ION build release
    - Kernel: some interactive governor updates
    - Kernel: increase ION_MM size. Should fix out-of-memory issues with some apps like netflix

As usual, I push all my changes on github so you can test building.
I would appreciate if you don't share any more home builds here, I will release some builds myself when some more bugs are ironed out.
