About the telephone number and contact name problem please see [007] in this page http://www.boldbeast.com/android/call_recorder_troubleshooting.html to know more details.
I installed the app from the official website.
The app has the permissions:
android.permission.PROCESS_OUTGOING_CALLS
android.permission.READ_CALL_LOG
The both permissions are on in app info.
But in the Privacy Protection I can see:
PROCESS_OUTGOING_CALLS allow
READ_CALL_LOG ask
I changed last to allow and now I have the call records with right call number and name!

I am running a custom Pie AOSP Rom (Codename Phoenix) on my OnePlus 5. I am able to get both sides of bluetooth calls recorded using the Call Recording Fix magisk module but there is a crackling sound in my recordings. I've been trying different recording modes but haven't found one that eliminates that crackling sound. Any suggestions?

What kind of crackling sound? Please try to change "Call Settings - File Sampling Rate" to 16000 and 8000 and test again. Is there any difference?

Just to advise I'm on newest firmware and Android 9 on a one plus 5, custom rom. Using stock settings with root enabled, record mode 14, no magisk module tho I do have magisk installed. And everything works great. Thanks

Which OP5 custom ROM are you using? Is your voice and the caller's voice recorded at the same volume?

The CallRecordingFix module inside Boldbeast Recorder.
Click "Call Settings - Fix Recording Issues - Install CallRecordingFix Module" inside the app to show the folder in which the module is saved, then use Magisk Manager to install it.
Some third-party ROMs can't record the caller's voice even if you grant root access to a popular recorder, the CallRecordingFix module can fix them perfectly. This module can fix call recording problems for almost all phones in the market.

I'm on whyred (redmi note 5) with Havoc Rom (aosp custom rom). I purchased Boldbeast and never regret.
I use root option, everything works, but since i use Bluetooth earbuds it's happening strange and random things:
- i can't get the call recorder working at all
- sometimes works but the records are metallic and very slow (not understandable)
- Google assistant doesn't hear commands (i don't use voice match)
- it keeps not working even after unpairing my bluetooth devices untill some time when it works again, but i never got when and why precisely.

I'm ready to pass to miui again if it would help... Could it be Rom related or changing Rom is useless?

i can't get the call recorder working at all
=> From you log files, I saw your calls were saved successfully, for example the call at 2019-07-04 10:11:18.

sometimes works but the records are metallic and very slow (not understandable)
=> This is because you were using wrong sampling rate to record calls. Please change following settings in Boldbeast Recorder to make recordings crystal clear:
Call Settings - Alsa Sampling Rate: test 8000 and 16000
Call Settings - File Sampling Rate: Auto

Google assistant doesn't hear commands (i don't use voice match)
=> This has nothing to do with Boldbeast Recorder. This is related to the ROM, or Google assistant settings maybe.

it keeps not working even after unpairing my bluetooth devices untill some time when it works again, but i never got when and why precisely.
=> You should uninstall all other recorders in your phone. And you should disable OK Google. Why? Please see [001] in this page http://www.boldbeast.com/android/call_recorder_troubleshooting.html to know the reason.

I'm ready to pass to miui again if it would help... Could it be Rom related or changing Rom is useless?
=> ROM matters.

The new version of Android changed something inside. We need to change Boldbeast Recorder accordingly.
At this moment we are changing the app. Android Q will be supported soon.

UPDATE
We have just released the new version of Boldbeast Recorder V12.5, now Android Q is supported.
Google Play may need time to publish it. If at this moment the new version is unavailable in your area please download it from our web site: https://www.boldbeast.com/android/call_recorder.html

fantastic, thanks! will i need to be rooted to use boldbeast on android q?
In some countries in some phones the call recording feature is enabled, no root needed, Boldbeast Recorder works good. However if the call recording feature is disabled by the manufacturer, you'll find all recorders in the market work bad. In this case you should root the phone, then Boldbeast Recorder can fix it perfectly.

For me, the settings above work great for recording calls when not using Bluetooth.

Is anyone using OxygenOS 9.0.7 (pie) on a OnePlus 5 and is able to record calls over Bluetooth successfully? If so, please share your specific settings. Thanks!

If you have rooted the phone, please enable the option "Call Settings - Fix Recording Issues - Change Audio Controls" in Boldbeast Recorder, it can fix the bluetooth problem at once.
At first please confirm you are using the latest version (currently V12.6) of Boldbeast Recorder.

Yes, I did all of that and was using V12.6 from the Play Store. Once I uninstalled that version and installed the version on the Boldbeast website, it is now recording both sides of Bluetooth calls. My voice is a bit louder than the other person's voice but I can live with that. Thanks for creating this awesome app!

Device: OnePlus 5
ROM: OxygenOS 9.0.7 (powered by xXx NoLimits Magisk Mod)

Here are my current Boldbeast settings:
- Record Mode 1
- Fix Recording Issues
- Tune Audio Route: Group 3
- Enabled Root Options
- Change Audio Controls
- Installed CallRecordingFix Module

Where can I find recommended settings for Oneplus 5 running Oxygen OS Pie with Magisk and Boldbeast PRO version.
I want to record in Automatic mode.
I currently have default settings with ASLA mode and the Magisk Module - but I get failed recording messages on Car Bluetooth. Also - sometimes when the call is very short (1-2 seconds) - my phone hangs (screen unresponsive) and I have to press/hold power button for a long time to reboot. This does not happen when Auto call recording is off

Also - sometimes when the call is very short (1-2 seconds) - my phone hangs (screen unresponsive) and I have to press/hold power button for a long time to reboot. 1. Please use these settings to record calls:
- Record Mode: Alsa
- File Sampling Rate: Auto
- Alsa Device: Alsa Device0
- Alsa Bits: 16 Bits
- Alsa Channels: Auto
- Alsa Sampling Rate: Auto
- Fix Recording Issues - Change Audio Controls: Yes
- Fix Recording Issues - Start Input Stream: No (Yes, some third-party ROMs)

2. If you get failed recording messages, most possibly you are using OK Google that blocks Boldbeast Recorder working. Please disable OK Google. See [001] in this page http://www.boldbeast.com/android/call_recorder_troubleshooting.html to know how to do it.

3. You said your phone hangs (screen unresponsive), other Oneplus 5 users don't have this problem. Please check other apps in your phone that may be related. Send log files to me if needed, let me help you find the reason.

I experienced all of the above when I used the same settings. Below are the settings which ultimately worked for me.

=== Boldbeast Call Recorder - No root needed for many Galaxy, HTC, Xperia phones, record calls perfectly in both sides. ===

Many Android phones can't record calls well, they usually have following recording problems:
    - Can't record calls.
    - Can record calls, but in recordings the sound of your side is very weak.
    - Can record calls, but in recordings the sound of the other side is very weak.
    - Can record calls, but during recording you can't hear the caller's voice.
    - Can record calls, but during recording the caller can't hear your voice.
    - Can record calls, but when you play back the recordings they sound like fast forwarding or fast rewinding.
    - Some other issues maybe.

What is the reason? Even popular phones like Samsung Galaxy, HTC One, Sony Xperia, Motorola Moto G/Moto E/Moto X, LG-G5/G4/G3/G2, Nexus 6P/6/5X/5/4 etc have these problems also. We checked ROMs of hundred phones, some of them have bugs inside that cause these problems, but most commonly these problems are made by the manufacturer - the manufacturer purposely disabled the call recording feature. For example,
    - Samsung Galaxy S4 can't record calls in USA, but works very well in other countries.
    - Samsung Note 3 works very well with Android 4.3, but can't record calls after upgrade to Android 4.4.
    - LGE LG-G2 can't record calls with Android 4.3, but works very well after upgrade to Android 4.4.
    - HTC One can't record calls in many countries, but works very well in China.

How to fix these recording problems? We found although the manufacturer disabled the call recording feature,
    - some phones are still able to record calls perfectly if the recorder app uses special recording parameters to record calls, no root needed.
    - some phones must root to fix these problems.

We developed Boldbeast Call Recorder for Android, it has a large "Fixing Database" inside. The app works well for most phones in the market, we want to make it supporting more add more phones by adding parameters into the database.

You are welcome to install the app and use it. If it can't fix recording problems of your phone, this indicates your phone needs different parameters, please click the "Ask New Parameters" item in the app to send us hardware log files, we'll look into them and update the Fixing Database accordingly to support your phone.

No matter get root access or not, this app doesn't change any built-in files in the system, it only dynamically changes audio related settings (these settings will be restored to their original states by Android automatically after reboot), so the app is 100% safe.

Boldbeast Call Recorder V9.0, it's free, no advertisement.
