The reason for problems with video playback, is due to the kernel has no perflock as original HTC kernel has. With perflock the cpu is locked to minimum 480MHz when screen is on, but without it, it will go down to 352MHz, which is too slow to keep video/audio in sync. I could lock it to minimum 480MHz, but that would mean it would run at that speed also when sleeping, which is not good for battery life. The easiest way to fix this, is to install SetCPU and make a profile with minimum 480MHz when screen is on.
The kernel in Kalims rom is locked to 480MHz as minimum speed, so that's why videos play fine.
Froyo will be updated if there's something new to update. Nothing is happening on the Froyo front atm though.
0.91 is out, with improved camera stability/compatibility, and not the least able to make video!
It's been a long journey, but it seems we're finally there with getting camera fully working. All thanks to the hard work of guys like Kalim (my hats off for you mate), Fyodor (you're a legend) and the rest of this community. A perfect example of what can be achieved with teamwork.
